The part you are hearing at 2:46 on the off beat is actually a bass drum or Taiko, I don't have a good enough ear to tell the difference. The way to tell the difference between a Bass Drum and Timpani is that Bass Drum is known as unpitched percussion meaning when struck it doesn't produce a note but a sound instead. The timpani is part of the pitched percussion meaning it can play notes.
@@JordanWeberMusic Yes you are correct, I don’t know the second instrument but it sounds very bass drum. I assume Williams used a pretty standard orchestra so my guess would land on bass drum
1:15 to 1:35 gives me chills and is a dope introduction to Mustafar. First you get a shot of the glowing red ball with it's giant ocean covered moon orbiting it, then you see mustafar's hellish landscape, a scene of demonic spider-crabs marching along rocks and stalagmites, and aliens in gas masks working on the lava banks. Really good way to set the scene with the music.

It really captures the anger, rage, and hatred that Anakin has coursed through him. Mustafar perfectly represents a lot of the aspects of the Dark Side.
@@coruscant100 I'd say the piece of Anakin's Dark Deeds where he's killing the Separatist Council and their bodyguards encapsulates his (our) anger and lust for power the most.
@@dtxspeaks268 that much is true. It also represents his vengeance for how the CIS attempted to kill his wife several times before and during the Clone Wars.

Revenge of the sith’s soundtrack really shows you how great Star Wars in the 2000’s really was compared to what Disney gives us now. Not saying Disney is a bad company, but they just can’t do it the same.
2:46 It’s actually frightening to imagine Vader is aproaching the place where not only will he commit an unespected massacre, but also where Anakin Skywalker dies
3:44 “With the Emperor gone, X1 had been reborn as a Sith Lord, but he still needed to learn the darkest secrets of the Force. That quest led him to the acid drenched mountains of Vjun...the resting place Darth Vader’s Castle. I had to stop him, before he learned too much.”
"X1's trail led to Mustafar. With the full power of the dark side at his command. He plans to lead an army of twited clones for galactic conquest. As his brother it's my duty to stop him. Once and for all."
Even the soundtrack in the sequels is shit compared to this. It's just force theme spam. Don't get me wrong, the force theme is great in impactful scenes, and this soundtrack uses it incredibly well with a darker rendition of it when Anakin makes his decision to attack Mace Windu, but just spamming it like the Sequels makes it lose its impact. I don't really blame John Williams for it, I imagine it was JJ who wanted a soundtrack that "felt like Star Wars", but like everything about those movies, it just felt like Star Wars, while lacking completely in what made Star Wars special to begin with.
