This journey was interesting an short but it was a good example ,I just recently bought me a pH pen an keep it in my back pack and take it with me every where
Very well presented. Yes, finally someone who has read the manual correctly:)
thanks, appreciate your comment!
@@journeytohydroponics6964 Create your own test liquids using A Calibrated Meter & PH down and store the liquid in bottles in a dark cool area. Then you do not need to ever purchase any of these crystal packs.
You are the first video, I've seen, that did it correctly.
thanks!
The probe was not properly rinsed. Dip in distilled water and wiggle for 2 seconds. then dab off water. She rinsed the plastic protection instead of the glasslike probe inside.
The best tutorial video for calibration, straightforward. Not like other videos, ang tagal mag explain. 👍
salamat!
This Video is very useful for me
Very clear demonstration the best i have seen so far I will def use your method. *****
thanks! appreciate your comment and hope it works for you
Thank you for this video I just got mine now I understand how to use it
thanks for watching!
I had strict rules from college of not turning it on until I was in a group ,or traveling ,but this time I could open it an check it out and see what group i was in
Thank you for your informative information. Must remember to clean my meter after each reading with distilled water which I haven't been doing, but only with tap water which will effect what reading I get
thanks for watching

Thanks a lot simple and clearly explained great
thanks, appreciate your comment!
Thank you so much
Great demonstration. Another video showed the testing water temperature should be 25 C (77f). Is water temperature not important? I was frustrated to match that number, but this is easy. Thank you.
thanks for your positive comment. yes, temperature should be considered as well as the instructions for the buffer powder indicate. I'm my area, my distilled water is kept at room temperature and I get by with temp at 25-27C.
It's supriseing that a little divice like this can change people lives ,I'm someone who like traveling an taking my children with me ,but not having what you bought an what the deviceean when you yourself paid for it especially at a time like this ,not having it destroy people crops an people have gotten sick am died because of this device
I was able to open it this time an check to see if it was battery operated ,I'm like this doesn't make since ,there switching all of my products I order an pay to Amazon ,an I'm at the point where I have no choice but to order
I checked my back pack an some of the things that were in it like my pH pen an push button an it came on how did that come on when it's battery operated an I couldn't buy batteries until I'm with the group or back in college memory issues on that but it was on I feel the need to tell it
I feel the need to tell it it scares me of a little device like this be switch ,my children packed up this morning an went to the beach I can't go ,my igloo is not the same as I purchased it then I can only go to the beach if I was in my yacht or on my cruise ship this has me very nervous about them
I did say I have my back pack with me every where I go except when I went shopping for food they wanted me to leave my bag up front
This time I was happy I could open it as soon as I got it kind of nervous ,I opened it an it was battery operated which meant I can buy batteries from the store as many as I wanted I do believe
I put them all in the same cup and calibrated together. Holy crap man. Who knew?
🙃
Suggest people read the instruction that come with your unit. Ive got 2 of these and this is not how mine are calibrated, extra presses are needed for each cal solution
If i buy this. do i need to calibrate first time before use. Or is calibrated already out of the box?
hi. I suggest you calibrate first time before use. during calibration, you may also encounter errors which will then allow you to return the defective unit back to supplier.
I waited for this moment for a long time to see what category or what group I was in I'm disappointed, I'm like please tell me something different I'm thinking here ,what to do about this ,you can't buy batteries across the time zone without you pH pen I do believe so I feel the need to tell it
👏👏👏👏👏
Do i have to use all solutions or canni just use the one?
hi. ideally it is better to use the 3 buffer solution or 3 point method to somehow establish a 'slope' value or ph values in between (4 and 9.18) for better accurate ph readings
So this meter auto-calibrates? I have seen very similar looking meters but the videos for them talk about using a small screwdriver to turn something on the unit to adjust the calibration,
the ph meter readers i purchased do not have any place for a scredriver to turn and adjust the calibration. so calibration, as seen in the video, is the way for me.
@@journeytohydroponics6964 OK, I think I understand now. My product looks just like yours, but the instruction booklet really did not explain how to do this!
I’m not growing hydroponic I’m growing in soil. Can I still fertilize my plants through watering or should I use fertilizer powder in the soil? Everywhere I see this I see it’s used for hydroponics growing
hi. yes, you can fertilize through watering. I use masterblend as my hydroponic nutrient solution and you can also use masterblend for soil based plants.
Hi, what if the ph of my distilled water has dropped to 5.8, will that matter? I believe distilled water can absorb carbon dioxide which can drop the ph from 7
hmm... not too sure if it will matter mainly because the reader is in "off" mode when you rinse with distilled water. So when you turn "on" the reader, dip it into the buffer solution, and then press the "cal" button, thats when the calibration starts (i.e. while dipped in the buffer solution). hope this helps.
that's why people use "storage solution" - I think it's a 3M KCl (3 molar solution of potassium chloride) ... I think the actual pH is not that important for storage, rather the ion concentration (or complete lack of it) which can throw off future measurement
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi, do i have to calibrate it with this 3 solution everytime i need to use it?
Hi Nur. There's no need to calibrate with the 3 solution every time you need to use the PH reader. I use mine almost every day and do calibration every 3 months.
@@journeytohydroponics6964 i see, Thank you very much. Appreciate it 🧡
@@journeytohydroponics6964 hi, em when do the calibration in 6.86 and 9.18 solution, it doesn’t stop flashing and then it shows an error. Only 4.00 solution stop flashing
I don't know if we have the same meter but logically there shouldn't be an error unless your manufacturers instructions are different. try doing a simple reading on all three and hope it's close to the numbers. if not try calibrating again. make sure the sensor is dipped onto the solution while your pressing the button. if error still occurs you might need to go back to your supplier
where do I get the 3 calibrating powders? my ph meter didn't come with the powders
hi Gen 913. i purchase mine online using Lazada. if in the usa, go to amazon and search "calibrating powder for ph tester" or "calibration powder for ph tester".
@@journeytohydroponics6964 found on ebay. thanks for this great video👍🏻
it's called a buffer solution and it's pretty standard lab supply - you can make your own but it's easier to just buy
so after calibrating the ph meter, you can use this meter to test the water that you use for hydroponics? or need the powder solution everytime testing the ph water from the water pump?
@@myhappylittlecrib solution is used just to calibrate. do that once every few months or something.
May I know how deep to dip this in the liquid
hi. you can see the notch or groove that is used by the cap to cover the sensor. just dip until that groove mark - so dipping is only around 1-2 inches deep
@@journeytohydroponics6964 Thanks your for your tips. I bought one but not sure about how to use, the instructions guide don't mention it
Hi. I bought a new Ph metre and followed every steps even setting water temperature to 25 degree Celsius. I have tried over 100 times but getting "error" everytime. Im very helpless now😢
sorry to hear that. maybe you have a defective one. hope you can ask for a replacement.
Hopefully don't no robot attack me ,I believe I had my children an my sister's kids with me ,nothing seems to work across that time zone with out my pH pen my kids got sick an had to medivqc my nephew out
Why calibrate 3 times ?
the ph buffers: pH=4 for acidic, 7 for neutral and 9.2 for basic are standard solutions/measurement for the meter to calibrate or use as targets.
Thinking about my children going to the beach an my pH pen ain't the same
Neither is my igloo
Create your own test liquids using A Calibrated Meter & PH down and store the liquid in bottles in a dark cool area. Then you do not need to ever purchase any of these crystal packs.
Not having it destroyed your crops an make you sick an kill lives across the time zone I am truly concern now about my life I'm on the east but I am not on the east where I have to live ,I have to relocate an have a CPAP machine there going invisible an stealing an switching or using machinery to steal from you
All that cheating they were doing smearing on my things causing me a ph problem ,
You know it ain't so ,
They have attacked me the first time after they stole my pH pen ,with there bad health personal hygiene
Taking care of pH health ,my pH pen was battery operated this time around I could open it and check ,it's against the law to buy batteries when traveling across the time zone without your pen ,they wouldn't let me by batteries because they said it wasn't mines this person switch it an you allowed them to leave the store an buy batteries ,I don't care who it was it could have been my husband for all I cared don't take my things ,thank the Lord I don't have one ,cause they sure are treating women an men like they do or they there mom or parent killing people ,
They killed my koi fish
