Yes, stir it up was a nice song but yes, you can be the only one who thinks it is a better song.
What makes new attitude a better song is because it is the very first single Patti recorded for the record company MCA in 1985 just after signing with the company.
You might say the song tells a story about her entire professional career as a recording artist.
Just leaving the group labelle where record sales were not that great with the exception of lady marmalade and dress code were becoming irrelevant as the 70's had gone for the times of the 80's
Patti had a new attitude about everything concerning the direction of her career.
That particular song spoke volumes about her past, present and future.
Everything happens for a reason and that song described a new era in her life and ours, which is why she sung it back then with such conviction and passion.
The same thing is true of Tina Turner and the song what's love got to do with it after leaving Ike.
There are some songs that are just stories like stir it up and then there are songs that tells a story like new attitude.
They both have different moods. New attitude is about transformation. Was never a big fan of stir it up. Clearly she likes new attitude better because she rarely performs stir it up
