  • Mark takes you through a simple step by step guide on how to tie what he believes is the perfect carp fishing rig to cover most carp fishing situations. This simple to tie rig even tells you if the carp have managed to get away with it. A tried and trusted carp catcher that I'm sure will help you put a few more carp on the bank.

    For all you people claiming it's just a korda advert in disguise, Mark is linked to Korda, so he's hardly gonna go and buy esp, nash, fox or any other companies products is he ??? He didn't really ram it down our throats either, he shows us what he has in front of him but he didn't even mention the names of any of them. Instead he opted for terms such as "braided hooklink component", "curved shank hook".

    Looks great but only problem I can see is if you do get ‘done’ the rig won’t reset itself as the D will have disappeared and the bait be stuck next to the eye. Great to see if you’ve been done but if you get done in first 5 minutes, it’s potentially out all night not fishing.

    Hi Mark, really excellent rig, thanks for sharing. Can I ask a couple of really key questions please. Firstly, how long is the maximum length you would have the supple loop? I've tied 3 up so far and one of them is about 2" in total, whereas the others are 1.5-1.75". The 2"one feels a bit long, but wanted to check. Secondly, do you set the D to 'end' opposite the hook point? Thanks in advance. Ps, I've tried using long shank aligners instead of silicone as I didn't have any. I think they work well, but please let me know if you think it will affect the rig. Apologies for the questions, but I like to get everything accurate.

    • @Kb11466
      @Kb11466 Před 2 lety +1

      Hello mate, you likely won't get a reply on such an old video so thought I'd answer from my experience. The length of the soft loop is something you can experiment with and see what works best. I would say however that the longer it is the more likely it will be to tangle. On another note, I would use a longer soft part for stiffer booms so the rig works well even if the fish comes from the swivel end first. With 20lb IQ I think the soft loop can be fairly short. I tie mine with 20lb amnesia and 25lb ultra skin (inner braid) In terms of aligners and long shanks again this is preference and down to your results, see if its nailing them and if so then great. As a rule of thumb for D positioning, wafters and light baits should go opposite the point, the heavier the bait as far down the shank as you can go. Good luck mate

    • @Kb11466
      @Kb11466 Před 2 lety +1

      @@BiigTT main thing with rig mechanics is that it doesn't tangle and you have a sharp hook. Past that, most popular rigs will do the job. This rig ticks every box for me except that you can't easily use a pva mesh bag with it.

    The rig looks a good rig on its own to use i like the fact the hook moves backwards towards a fishes mouth.
    what I don't like is this unnecessary need to drop leads all the time.

    Just tie your rig with the fluorocarbon and don’t use all that heat shrink on hook all these added bulky components just make your rig obvious to the carp and your hook heavier.All you need is 1 x swivel ( maybe 1 inch heat shrink over swivel end to help kick out from the lead) then tie on a standard hair rig knot to hook at the other end directly with Flouro. Much less conspicuous!! And hooks up better !!

I can't change the Hook on mine, but can fish it over any length weed, and it gives me one toners 9 times out of 10 with 1oz leads - which means it's fooling the fish. So probably there is no ultimate Rig... only ones we have total confidence in, which is what counts.

      oddball 1 they’re not all the same, but this is a variation of the multi-rig ...perhaps better, perhaps not...

      oddball 1 nonsense, there’s s lot more than just location, yes it’s the most important aspect but not the only one.

    You could easily get a false indication that you have been 'done' with these kind of rigs. If you reel in and your hook catches something on the way in, it will pull the hook. You would thing you have been done, but in reality you have not. So this is not effective.

      Still has loads of other benefits Al, changing the hook, re-sets etc etc, of course if you catch weed on the why in it may pull down but we live with that for all the other benefits mate tbf. As for not effective, well it's done us well for over a decade so we won't be changing it anytime soon.

      @@BaitworksTV sorry I didn't mean not an effective rig. Its no doubt a very good rig, just what I mean is that you wouldn't really know if you have been done or not. impossible to say if it was a fish or whether its caught something on the way in. No doubt a brilliant rig tho like you say the versatility being able to use it over any bottom with any bait is superb. To be fair you could probably tie one of your baitworks boilies on without a hook and still catch, they wouldn't want to let go. 👍
