  • Tower Bridge is a true London icon one we have walked past, driven over and floated under many times, yet we have never stopped to explore Tower Bridge and find out why it was built, how they did it, or how it all works!
In this video we take a tour of Tower Bridge, looking back at how the Victorian's designed and built this wonderful bridge. We'll go inside and walk across the pedestrian walkways and take in the views from the viewing areas which now includes a new glass floor.
It really was a fascinating insight into a bridge we take for granted each day, so join us as we explore the amazing Tower Bridge.

The first time I stood viewing the bridge from Tower Wharf, I was amazed... at her size, at her workmanship, and at her beauty. I'm still amazed each time, even now with viewing via this video. Stunning.

A very interesting video, as you say in your commentary the bridge looks older than its true age. A true British Icon.

Hi Simon and Will. Tower Bridge really is a beautifully intricate London landmark. I ❤it’s blue colour. It really makes the whole structure stand out. Fascinating on the inside as well as having an equally fascinating history. Will is definitely a man of mystery, the back of him popping up in the odd video. Hope he’s not making you do all the work Simon. LOL ❤🇨🇦🇬🇧 The both of you take care til next time. EDIT: Those glass floors are freaky. They mess with your brain.

Amazing! The Tower Bridge is a very beautiful & is such an impressive bridge! Along with having such a fascinating & interesting history of its building & inception. The walkway is also amazing, especially the glass floor! Although it looks quite scary when you look down!! Yikes! Then again, I am scared of heights! Ooooh! Scary! However, the views from the Bridge, both, of the River Thames & of the City of London are just breathtaking! Indeed! Thank you for sharing another wonderful experience!

Very interesting history, despite it not being as 'ancient' as we might think. The late 19th Century was full of engineers and builders, racing to make the tallest, longest, best bridge/tunnel/dam/locks/sky-scraping buildings. Though later (1914), the engineering project that benefited California the most (since the Transcontinental Railroad, completed 1869/1870) was the Panama Canal. And all of it done without computers. Tossing up red hot bolts? I can't even imagine. Many years ago, my (new at the time) husband and I walked down to the bridge from the Tower of London. It was amazing to experience it in 'real life' after seeing it for years on my Granddad's tea tins. :)
