What a great find! I was looking up camera reviews for the A53 and what do I find? A video in the town I was born, raised, and lived in until 5 years ago! Kingston is a.....complicated town, but the vast majority of it is real pretty to look at. Fun facts about it: There are several pre-Revolutionary War buildings still standing in pristine condition (one being from 1654), it was the first capital of NY, it was burned down in nearly it's entirety by the British in late 1777, under uptown Kingston are miles of bomb shelter tunnels (last I checked there was 1950's era metal signage on at least one building pointing them out as nuclear bomb shelters), and is home to a fantastic brewery named Keegan Ales that makes (imo) the tastiest beer on earth, Mother's Milk....god I miss Mother's Milk...such an incredible stout.

It's good if you're a casual user and you're use to cheaper phones. It will fell like fresh air. But if your coming from a s series or and iphone 12 it's not the best idea. if you can afford it go for the fe

What a fabulous place, and great drone work David. I agree about the cameras, I much prefer having the X3 telephoto lens on my A72 than the macro and depth sensor. Another plus for the A72 is the bigger screen and headphone jack.

Nice to see some coverage on the A53. No one (at least in my feed) has even touched it. Its always the higher end devices or lower end devices that have some gimmick. Also lots of iPhones.

Was so close to getting this for my Missus. Cameras are good enough and the screen looks really nice. Despite the lag concern, I think she would have been pretty happy with it if we had gone for it. In the end she went for the baby S22. I think she'd had enough of big phones (she had the Note 8), so was happy to downsize. Loved the General Store (I'm biased though, being Aussie! 😋) , and the food your 'unofficial' Sister made, looked delish! Cheers for another wonderful Real-World Test!

Great one David. I never really got comfortable around midrangers. Gave my Poco X3 to my wife just 6 months after I got it. Now, I am in love with my S10 5g..
S10 series is sooo goood, i have my s10 plus and its so hsochaicbsh good
Faced the same lagging issue when I upgraded from my Poco F1 to the A52 - to the point where I felt like I made a mistake. I think it needs to learn your usage patterns (which never fully happens to a reviewer's unit). Now the Poco feels slow in comparison.
Eh I've never had those usage pattern crap actually work and I use phones for a while usually so I wouldn't assume when buying that it'll get that much better. If you're willing to take that risk that a product will get better after you buy it that's up to you!
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but what I've found with most midrange phone that have 120hz displays experiencing lag, I set the refresh rate to 60hz and the performance seems better, I don't know for sure but I think in the midrange phones I have used the processor isn't powerful enough to run the display at 120hz for certain tasks. I've used the Samsung a53 and moto G stylus 5g 2022, I much prefer the a53, it seems like enough of a phone for most people, I like it much more than any other midrange phone I've used or seen

It's alright to share all those names of the ones you played Warzone with. They would want to be forgotten, but it's the ones you played with. Resource monitoring is interesting, when you want to know how much juice you spaceship still has. If night mode is beautiful you aren't saying anything, just adore it.
Long as it has better speakers, brightness, battery life, and those awesome cameras than the LG G8 and Pixel 3A, then that's all that matters. 😊🌎✨
I find that my A53 speakers have slightly more bass than my S22 Ultra

I imagine that using the depth sensor is easier on the processor (which is kinda weak on this phone) than using the data from the wide and ultra-wide. The Pixel 6a gets away with it because it has the much more capable Tensor chip. As for the macro, 100% agree, basically useless.

Your vlogs truly help us out I have a question I currently have the samsung a51 and I've updated to I believe version 12 and now my camera quality is super low resolution than before how often do you recommend buying a new phone ? Also is it best to just buy a new phone vs the updates.I used to love my phone but the video camera is so different now.Thank you so much again!
I think the A52s5G was a better phone...dunno maybe they'll come up with a A53s5G this time as well. I still regret sellng that phone.
I can totally testify you on that one for I am currently using the A52S 5G 8+256gb internal and it is superb when it comes to day to day usage, gaming, and camera performance of this phone.
The last year's a52S 5G is better than the A53 5G considering the fact that this year's model supports EXYNOS which is a bit of a downgrade for me, honestly.
@@daveramn2267 my a53 can't play normal games with 60 fps lol. but the camera is good enough for my work. and a53 is laggy
@@diablotech385 well you can always change the animations and stuffs like that in the developer mode. It makes your phone feel pretty faster.
@@daveramn2267 I prefer smooth over fast. But my A53 lag a lot idk why. I bought it for my mother. She only uses Facebook so some lag doesn't matter for her. But it is not okay with me because I paid 450$ to buy this phone

@@Native722 go to developer section and turn on few options there. No lagging no freezing
@@Native722 in the developer options turn the animations to .5 and also turn off the fingerprint animation which is in more biometrics settings. Had mine for a while now.

Interesting device but maybe for those markets where the midrange is not that crowned with brands like RealMe, Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo, ZTE, Nubia and so on.
This design Looks like the Vivo or Oppo, some of those which is mainly found on white but, on my experience, Samsung has another bad thing, it's being obsolete after a year, my brother and i used to compare the old good Huawei (not the Googleless) with a higher tier device from Samsung from the same year and specs and Samsung was always getting older faster than other devices, not sure if it is related to a hardware or software fail design, but that's why we both avoided Samsung recently,

My dad had the A21 and I got him this a53 and he likes it. Wanted to get him the pixel 6a but he wanted to stick to Samsung and it was like $259 so that was that. Much better camera and screen. If it has a stutter step my dad hasn't noticed. Been using it for 3 weeks now and he's happy.

this phone was such a disappointment. But hey, at least the A52s was selling for like 250EUR around these parts of Europe, while they had the audacity to charge close to 400 for this one at some point, but even at 350 it is too expensive imo.
And the a52s has a faster chip

Such a disappointment. I suppose that's Samsungs game these days. I got a Samsung S22 for the simple fact that Sony refuses to provide their phones to the country I'm in. ROG phone would be pretty cool too.
One thing, the A53 CPU is slower than the A52 S, witch means less stuttering
I have it, the main issue for me is the battery, it drains quite fast for a 5000ma model, don't know why, even if using the 60 hz refresh rate and enabled all battery power optimisation.
For how many hours does it last ?
@@user-eq7uw4ur3w for a normal usage it lasts an average of a day and a half, non stop usage like video watching, CZcams or Facebook browsing no more than 6hours. It gets worse if you use bluetooth earpods.

It's a possibility that your device is defective , something may be wrong with the display because the display isn't supposed to look yellowish. You can try getting in touch with a Samsung representative to solve the issue.

The a73 is only a little more, and it’s way faster. It even has a 108 megapixel camera
