Glad y'all made it. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for posting this.
You’re welcome!
Looks like a great trip! It's encouraging to see that you were able to get your whole family on the flight. Looking forward to flying Space A soon. 😊
Thank you 😊 I hope you got a chance to hop on a Space A flight in the meantime!
@@TheNevFam I did on the first try from North Island to Honolulu. And more recently took a hop to Washington State. And if possible will be going back this year Washington State is beautiful.
Thank you for replying back.
Excellent job editing this video. My daughter and I are trying to do the same thing next week....and we'll be "winging it" like you.
This is so cool. I never even knew this type of travel existed
It’s great if you’re including some flexibility into your travel days!
Are you in the military?
@@SDsailor7yes, my husband is
This is so helpful thank you! We are in JBLM as well 🙏
Best place to make it to Hawaii ❤️
@@TheNevFamDo they still have the military driver option on the Uber up?
I tried to bring it up and it would not come up on the app.
Thank you
@@TheNevFamI went to the top of Diamond head when I visited. Stayed at Hikam Navy lodge.
@@SDsailor7I believe they do, but only during certain times during the day. I remember once I tried to get a military driver on the Uber app but there weren’t any available in the evening hours
@@TheNevFam In my phone the symbol for military driver didn't even show up. So had to make do.
Thanks for this video. I am a veteran that just got 100% P&T so I am looking forward to using space A to do some traveling. Do you know of any bases that offer flights to Guam other than Seattle Tacoma?
Maybe Travis AFB out of CA?
I would check each Air base 72 hour flight schedule, but I do know they also fly to Guam from Hickam AFB in Hawaii
Hey best friends this is Charles diamond how are you guys doing and did you guys have fun in the water
Did you get to Fort Lauderdale airport can you give any more information complete
we were not at the Fort Lauderdale’s airport in Florida…we flew from Joint Base Lewis McChord to Hickam AFB in Hawaii
Hi! Könntest du mir bitte erklären, wie du und wo du dich einschreiben musst für einen Flug nach Deutschland von jblm? Ich finde space A so confusing und hab keine Ahnung wie das funktioniert. Danke 😉
Hi Kristina!
Hey friends how are your guys is doing and did your guys have fun in Haiti
Yes it’s awesome here, we’re in Hawaii 🌺
Okay
Typical teen @ 9:09. JUST LIKE MY SON. You Told him not to do it, he did it ANYWAY. 😂😂😂
🤣 yep. every day life with a teen!
How frequently have your guys used this in a typical year?
For those that get homesick and also have family they need to check up on back home is this a solution?
we don’t use this every year, but every other year. In 12 years we’ve used this 4 or 5 times. Yes this is an option for active duty members and their dependents or veterans to fly home, just depends on what the flight schedule is!
Doesnt look like it was too cold in there.
It was not bad at all actually! It was a bit chili every once in a while but not too bad
@@TheNevFam ok.
Thank you, good to know if I ever get on one of those.
How much was the flight for all 5 of yall?
Free! It's a military benefit.
It was completely free, you do have the option to purchase a meal for the flight which comes with a small fee. Or you bring your own food and drinks for the flight
Lots of vacant seats..
Yeah there were many available seats!
Can civilians fly space A

why wouldn't you guys have stayed at the Hale Koa?
Had no clue! But next time for sure
@@TheNevFam I have found that staying at the Embassy Suites was a better plan (econonically) since it comes with a comp and made to order omlette breakfast for each guest staying at the hotel.
@@proudasiangirl576 that’s awesome! We actually didn’t do too much research prior to flying out to Oahu because we weren’t sure wether or not we would get on that flight lol. I literally booked the hotel while the plan was rolling 🤣
Did the entire family fly with no charge? I’m new to space-a travel as a veteran so I’m looking for information
Hi there yes we flew at no charge!
Space A is for active duty and retired military and any other people that qualify.
It is not available to people that did not do 20 years of service.
@@SDsailor7 I’m a disabled veteran
I would call one of the AMC passenger terminals directly for clarification. I don’t want to give you any false info, we are active duty, however, many retired folks are traveling via space A all the time. I do not know their status as far as how many years they’ve served etc. so definitely give a AMV terminal a call or read the qualifications on their website
Space Available Travel is NOT based on “first come, First served”. It’s based solely on the 6 categories of eligibility and when you signed up on the space available register.
Thats correct, I guess that wasn’t clear in the video. By first come first served I meant based on the sign up date and I was only speaking of our category. Thanks for pointing that out!
