Only Japan showed love for Advance 1. There's one on the Wii U VC, and a widescreen Android port. There's also another Android port by Gameloft. But.... it's a port of their mobile phone (I'm talking about Nokias and stuff) version, which strips down the game a lot to just Sonic and a few levels.
probably the most fun I had was with the Sonic Classic Collection, with Sonic 3 and Knuckles in particular. I had Super Tails, Hyper Sonic, and Super Knuckles because my younger self just couldn't be bothered to go back and get the Super Emeralds for the 3rd time I should really go back and finish it
I legitimately think it would be really interesting and even sell decently if they made a collection of all the meme-y sonic games, like Shadow the Hedgehog, 06, and Unleashed, to name a few.

Sonic Mega Collection was my first introduction to older Sonic games back then. And it had Ristar! And then Gems Collection which i wasn't that much into other than for Sonic CD. Maybe that's why i don't see value in Origins. I've gotten so spoiled with different Sonic collections that $40 for 3 genesis games and CD is too much.
I actually hate it when people talk negatively about the music of "Sonic R" because I personally think it's quite nice and catchy to listen and sing along to, and it also happens to be the very first game with actual lyrics in its music that I was able to hear at a young age (not counting the arcade versions of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Revolution X", of course).

A good video, though Flicky isn't available at the start in any release of Sonic Mega Collection. Also, Sonic Gems Collection's aesthetic carries a bit from the Xbox/PS2/PC exclusive Sonic Mega Collection+, and those games are in Gems Collection to an extent; They can only be accessed through unlockable missions, and also they have a timer.
"Flicky" can be easily unlocked in "Sonic Mega Collection" if you're able to play the game using a memory card with save data from "Sonic Adventure 2 Battle", and the "Blue Sphere" game can also be unlocked instantly by using a memory card with save data from "Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II".
I must admit I’d like to give Sonic 06 a try considering I’ve tried Shadow the hedgehog. The latter was…ok. I mean I love the idea of multiple endings but…it felt so different controlling him compared to Sonic heroes😅
The thing about Sonic 06 is that the game itself isn't inherently bad. It's just buggy and inconsistent, with a lack of polish to the point where it often feels broken to play, and there are other things like the load screens that can get on a person's nerves. Structurally and gameplay-wise though, it's essentially just Sonic Adventure 3. Sega just needed to give themselves time to actually finish it, instead of rushing it out the door for the holiday season. Which, from what I remember reading, cut about half a year of development the game still needed.

Sonic Origins is giving us 4 classic 2D Sonic games to modern hardware and if a Sonic 3D Origins is ever a possibility, I think having Sonic's first 3D games would be appropriate to celebrate Sonic’s transition to the 3D gaming scene. In my opinion, I think the 4 games that could be available for this hypothetical compilation would be Sonic 3D Blast (the Sega Saturn version because not only are there multiple ways to play the Genesis version already, but it is the best version of the game), Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, and Sonic Heroes.

Surprised nether of the SEGA 3D Classics ports got mentioned given that they were developed by M2 who also made the SEGA AGES versions of Sonic 1 & 2 on Nintendo Switch. Much like any other port it was *only* Sonic 1 & 2 which meant we didn't get a 3D port of Sonic 3&Knuckles which sucked. The SEGA 3D Classics are what it says on the tin, 3D versions of iconic SEGA titles made for the 3DS's unique display with extra options to change things like the display of the game to be either how most would play these days or with a CRT filter making the screen warped and having the 3D effect either pop-out or not and giving the ability to cheese the game with the Spindash in Sonic 1 and the ability to transform into Super Sonic freely without needing to beat each of the Special Stages after beating the game in Sonic 2. Eventually a series of collections containing the SEGA 3D Classics were released with Japan getting four physical releases compared to our single physical release, three of them were three individual volumes with the fourth one being a sort of "mega collection" of all three volumes in one package. It should be noted that each game gave the ability to change what region you played the game on. For example, later versions of Sonic 1 introduced better sprite scrolling and changed up a few things in levels like Labyrinth Zone gaining an extra Ring in act 1 if you decided to go down the alternate route with only 49 Rings which would allow you to get any missing Chaos Emeralds. The later versions are known as REV01 while the earlier/original versions are known as REV00. In both SEGA 3D Classics and SEGA AGES REV00 is known as the International release and REV01 is the Japanese release. My first Sonic game was Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity and the various sonic cartoons including sonic x. But then my parents bought me an AtGames Sega Genesis containg 5 sonic games and other titles.
The sad part is Sonic origins is basically just fan-made Sonic games there's plenty of those PC Port Sonic games out there that have the capability to play custom maps or capability to play different Sonic characters or different characters in general from other games. So they didn't really do anything unique other than the comic book animations.
My dream sonic collection would be a sonic adventure collection featuring sonic adventure 1 (DX and DC) sonic adventure 2 (DC and battle) sonic heroes, shadow the hedgehog, and sonic 06
I guess you could have also mention Sonic Collection/Sonic Classics for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, which had duology of Sonic 1 and 2 (they couldn't fit 3&K) accompanied by Dr.Robotnik's Mean Bean Puyo Clone. Yeah, not exactly port, nor remake or remaster, but more so a rerelease as one ROM. And pretty rancid one, I might say. It seems like they all run on PAL region console, as they're all slowed down just a bit.

Sonic Classic Collection on the Nintendo DS was my first experience with Sonic the Hedgehog, God that was probably not a good experience

I guess you could have also mention Sonic Collection/Sonic Classics for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, which had duology of Sonic 1 and 2 (they couldn't fit 3&K) accompanied by Dr.Robotnik's Mean Bean Puyo Clone. Yeah, not exactly port, nor remake or remaster, but more so a rerelease as one ROM. And pretty rancid one, I might say. It seems like they all run on PAL region console, as they're all slowed down just a bit.
