It's a great opportunity to test the dirt orientation of the 2022 Triumph Rally Pro. Unfortunately the dominant wet weather pattern called La Nina dashes our hopes of reaching our goal, but the journey is still worth it as we punch out long dirt kilometres on the bikes.

Another awesome video, what size jacket does clubby have on?
I can listen to Clubby talk bikes, and other stuff, all day!.... love you Clubby!! ;-)
Excellent❤Love these longer adventures!
That low level camera pan in dust and sunlight at 26:30 is magic (with product placement). This is what makes MAD tv stand out. While it takes a long time to edit, and prep, it makes for a brilliant episode. Well done lads.
Thank Ross. A huge amount of effort not only shooting but editing these longer length movies and unfortunately not much reward in terms of views. I have 150,000 subscribers and most can't be bothered watching.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV My kids and I watch pretty much everything you post, especially the adventures. My 18 year old daughter and 16 year old son got their licenses back in February of this year. We have a 2017 Yamaha XT250 and a 2020 KTM 390 Adventure which they share, but they both really like the 390! They LOVE adventure riding and find your videos inspiring! We live in East Texas in the Piney Woods, nothing like what you guys have access to, but still fun for learning. Riding in your neck of the woods is a bucket list item for all of us for sure! Someday hopefully...
@@TourmeisterTWT Oh wow. I'm glad you like what we do. We try to make them inspirational. We love riding together and I think that shows.
👏👏👏👍👍👍

Brilliant, as always.
Glad you think so!
Love the long vids Dave , something to sit down and watch after work 🤙 keep it up
Good to hear
Love it as always! The bikes, the views, the people and your narration. Great work! /cheers
Much appreciated!
Thanks for another great video Dave/Clubby!!!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. More of these adventure movie styles coming.
🙌 always a pleasure to watch Dave ride 🤩
Glad you enjoyed it
That was a beautiful tribute by Clubby, and an excellent video as always Dave!
Many thanks!
Another Brilliant episode 👏 well done lads
Thank you.
Watched for the third time. I enjoyed each time. Great review. Great trip.
Awesome! Thank you!
Another top review Dave and Clubbie
Thank you.
Nice tribute at the beginning. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Super review and style. Looking forward to the Tuareg ride and review, thanks for that. And thanks for this.........
Yeah Tuareg not far off now.
THIS WAS A REALLY GOOD REVEIW AND RIDE THANKS.
Thanks Gary
Best Flinders Ranges video I've seen. Truly beautiful place! I have a soft spot for the Triumph Tiger, great to hear your review. I very much enjoyed your video! Thank you! 👍😁
Thank you very much!
very enjoyable thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Love this long-form content from you guys. And would love this sort of thing for a group test. Makes me want to get out and adventure.
Hard to get all the gang together.
Another fabulous video!
Thank you.
I am still in love with my 2019 Tiger, but this video has me craving the new models.
Having owned 03, 07, and 19 Tigers, I can attest to the maturation of the brand.
Thanks again.
Dave 🇨🇦
They have a strong commitment to improve build quality and design.
Brilliant job again chaps, nice to see a paper map out early on too, alway worth having in your bag👍
Absolutely
2022 Triumph Rally Pro looks like good mile muncher, having shaft drive like BMW ,Yamaha and Moto Guzzi just makes it that much easier. This was a great presentation of your ride, the drone shots give a great perspective how remote you and Arkaroola South Australia is out there into the middle of nowhere.
Thanks for watching Michael. Yeah the drone shots played an excellent role in demonstrating the landscape.
The Flinders Ranges footage brought back some great memories when I took the GS there.
Thank you.
The Flinders is brilliant.
Great piece! I love these long trip to really test the machines
The T1200 is not a bike for me, but it was nice to know more about it, for it is a bike that flies under the radar, leaving the spotlight for the GS, the big KTM, the Duke, and the Africa Twin.
Gotta love the Aussie banter!
Keep up the excellent work!
Cheers from the opposite end of the world!
Thank you
Beautiful Adventure, great commentary.. I almost forgot it was a bike review. Probably a testament to how the Tiger just does all the things so well..
Glad you enjoyed it. I was determined to make an adventure movie first and review second.
Your video of the ride from London inspired me to take up tiding at 50... keep up the great content guys
Go for it!
this is better than really good. excellent video love evry min of it
Glad you enjoyed it
I have got to say, your channel is just brilliant. The camera work, the reviewing, the banter, and the music are just fantastic. Keep up the great work.👍👍👏👌

Much appreciated! Spread the word if we're worthy!
I will definitely give you a mention on our little channel. 😉 👍
Lavazza in the Australian Outback? So proud of it :)
Great video e great test!
Yes! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing the video of your ride. Being from Canada and a rider of an adventure motorcycle, I really appreciate seeing the terrain Australia has to offer and your insight on how to navigate motorcycles over it. Unfortunately, your country is very far for me to visit, but I'm doing it vicariously through your videos and commentary. Rickk :)
Thanks mate. Appreciate you comments.
As a Tiger owner, I have been waiting for this
They are a great bike.
As a TS185 owner, it frightens me
Great adventure movie - loved t Clubby’s glass always full attitude and the camerawork was top notch.
But the best thing - for me - is that there is a real Trumpet alternative to my ageing GS.
New to this channel and now fully subscribed.
Thanks guys.
Glad you enjoyed it. Lots to look at here. My advice go to the million plus view adventure movies.
Jeez what a beautiful land and sweet ride! Cheers from Canada
Glad you enjoyed it! There is another great ride video coming up in two weeks.
You guys are Gold
That was a great trip.
Great vid as always Gents! Found your channel 6 or 8 months ago and have appreciated and enjoyed the rides and analysis. I bought a 2022 KLR shortly after that review. I'd love to see you guys do a ride review on the Pan America! Come to Southern Utah and we'll get you some to ride. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Thanks Jeff. Yes we were heading to the US until that little bug struck, so we are behind schedule.
Good work guys!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video guys!
Thank you.
Awesome video guys, I really want to ride this route!
Great on a big twin.
What a huge amazing continent and countryOz is. I had 300 dollar rat yam xt500 and 700 dollar suzuki 750 in 1987. Eent to work in adelaide in a foundry and went to Adelaide hills, kangaroo islandwhen a king brown crawled over my boot into my tent in clothes bag. Rode To Melbourne Dubbo sydney where i worked. I can never forget the adventure. Arrived with less than 100 dollars and it was so hard until i got work.
Your experience prove most valuable for weather related rides.
And a little luck.
Great video. You’ve inspired me. Was going to take the 4wd away this long weekend but stuff the weather, I’m taking the Tenere
Good luck!
Absolutely brilliant "Vlog" of a fantastic outback adventure. Superb video editing. Only one thing I would have liked to of seen, is how the MC lights where during the night. Excellent work form both of you. I had lots of laughs, with you both shit stirring the Honda riders! THANK YOU for putting it all together. (Have subscribed and notifications on) 👍👍👍
Thanks Sean for coming along for the ride.
Fantastic video log of an incredible ride. Very motivated Arizona T7 Pilot🤠🌵🛸👽
Glad you enjoyed it!
I took the leap after watching this. No regrets at all. Thanks for producing content that inspires.
Even old buggers like me. 23 years since I last rode properly off road but that'll change. My Mrs and my bank manager would like a word though. . . . .😂
A lovely bike
Congrats with your African Twin purchase and thanks for taking us along with you on your trip. Enjoyed it from start to finish.
Glad you enjoyed it! But we didn't buy an Africa Twin.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV
I’m not sure how I got the idea that you did,🙃. I just started watching your videos as of late and have to say you guys do some of the best reviews of the bikes. Not only reviews but the journey’s that you take us along with.
Now this is a test, I hope these manufacturers are taking in your observations, brilliant
Thank you
Looking good
Even if you're not interested in the Triumph the ride is a solid one with interesting stories and some stunning drone footage.
Excellet way to do a proper Tiger test. I'm almost sold on getting one, just don't know how well they handle deep sandy bits. Wife urges me on with comfortable pillion saddle, but I'm gonna be the one picking it up when things go pear shaped. All these mid/large adv bikes have some comprimise you just have to accept and press on. Also helps that I have a nearby Triumph dealer less than an hour away. Great content, looks like piles of fun. Cheers!
Thanks. They are up there with the competition.
Ps great ride you guys really enjoyed it ! Makes me seriously think about getting there next year instead of the states !
You should!
You two blokes are a crack-up. Great video boys. Loved every minute of it. YES, i think the Tiger is a good fit, in respect that you have lots of models to choose from, to match your riding needs. Yet to read a poor review on the models. For me, its Cooktown bound via inland county towns, thus August. My weapon of choice?.. Tiger 1200 GT Pro.
It will do it well.
Hahaha, I love the ambush interview of the Honda guys. You could put a library in there.
It was great. Fair dinkum adventurers.
Arrrr yes. This is why I subscribed.
No “Shorts” for me.
Thanks.
Thanks for the sub!
Mantap......
Love it lads. Good stuff. Haven’t ridden there since clubby leaf the way on a Tragics ride. I just rode the AT 1100 yesterday around the greasy mountains of Gippsland. Not an easy day but managed 415 klms at 19.1 litres at the bowser with my fat arse on it. The bike says I used 20.2 lts. It’s a 19.5 lt tank….no range anxiety here!😂
Long live fuel anxiety!
I love MAD! I have also the triumph R 1200 adventure.
In Europe it´s not able to go in such heavy trails like Australia. But there are also nice routes are permitted going off road. Here is ACT very helpful for finding tracks for heavy ADV. But the Australian test-tracks are much heavier.
Seems I have to go to Australia ... 😂 ... Greate review of the Bike. Thanks for that.
Joachim from Germany
Thanks for sharing!
Hey Dave...i visited your onlineshop and i am still missing a shirt with the conterfy of you, Nugget and Clubby with the sentence below "...and after all, it is an adventure..."...😀🤟thanks for this marvelous video mate...all the best from west germany...Felix
Yeah we need to make a more personalised one. Agreed.
Bloody awesome boys 🍻. Loving my Tiger (apart from having to stop to change to off-road mode 😂)
The dreaded stop. Fortunately in Australia, once you're in the Outback you're not stopping too often.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV At least you won't be holding up any traffic 😃
those bikes look incredible
They went well.
so sorry to hear of Keith's passing RIP and my sincere sympathy to his family and mates
Very sad.
Awesome place to go riding/ripping
It is. I like this video.
Another good one lads! Keep the movie lengths coming! Best ADV bike channel on CZcams. Just placed a deposit on the Ducati Desert X here in the UK. Any chance you guys are doing a review on this anytime soon .
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. A big effort making these. Yes Desert X shortly.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Your welcome mate! Keep them coming! Looking forward to that review 😊
Greetings from isle of man 🇮🇲
Hi Taz
It's really a great adventure I enjoyed the part when you guys were all technical about the fuel consumption... Was curious though how come for a 4000km adventure your bikes look so new all the time.🤔. All though respect for all the tech review cheers mate.
Thank you. If you stay out of each others dust and the days are pristine. Then the bikes stay clean.
Beautiful open country Australia… can’t imagine riding in hot steamy weather though
in the out back it is generally hot and dry.
This was a great "long movie length feature" you guys seemed to have a great time. Although the rains were coming in it would of been good to see an attempt at Cameron's corner even if you would of gotten wet. I think it's good to see how the professionals would of tackled the potential tricky situation. Although I'm sure you knew what you guys would of been in for. Its the couch potatoes who can't get out would of had more of an adrenaline rush enjoying you guys talking about ya sphincters. Also while on that subject would of been good to see some night riding behind the trucks. Pictures were fabulous maybe to much colour grading at the head of the show but then maybe not just magic hour throughout. Saw clubby putting 98 fuel in would of liked a report on the fuel costs. I was thinking one time at a fuel stop 5.8 litres per 100 km. 30 litre tank so roughly 500 km per tank and that's a bit of stick and cruising. My CRF 300 L 7.4 litres and 250 KMs per tank so if I carry a bladder, Primus bottle and rota container in combination could easily travel along without anyone thinking this guy's got a little tank. So 15 litres . Then the counterbalance of the engine/ seat concepts/ adv tyres / soft grips/good suspension and full throttle the unstoppable Honda it could easily be done keeping up with the Triumphs. That's if doing no more than 120 kph. So on arrival I've got the benefit of the light weight orientated trail bike experience. Of course some GPS tower like mark has on his KTM 500. Well I've crapped on a little there but think tank capacity is not everything.
The triumph looks great just another big beast that I wouldn't be able to pickup or get out of some bog holes if the rain did set in. Really to have these beast's ya have to be a good rider to have fun otherwise your just touring but having a light weight dual sport would be much more fun on arrival. Which I think you guys would of done say if you were on ya 701. Although I know this was a test run for the triumph but the little red rooster would of done the trick except for black top comfort.
Bugger CZcams, a great feature and not a frustrating short clip. I think Dave when you advertise up coming events is enough and we can set our reminder bell. Keep up the great work. Cheers The Duke.
Thanks John. Lots of stuff covered there.
nice video
Thanks for the visit
Thank for your video
I spent 9 months in Adelaide in 1987, went waterskiing on Murray River and rode a Suzuki Gs750 to Melbourne then Sydney, blue mtns coolah, blacktown on caravan camp site.
You'd be underwater now
I can't believe how good this 1200cc shaftie is in the dirt. It's an amazing bike for the different road surfaces whether dirt, sand, gravel or mud. It has comfort and is a great tourer and would be far cheaper to run buy and service than BMW or KTM for example but for a day to day bike that's really good a honda, Yamaha is cheaper and really good but this is at another level from other bikes in general to cope with everything plus the range and brakes, suspension, handling is great, you need them with those dodgy roos jumping out in front of you at night. Those red male roos are huge, solid. We had them on the sheep farm I worked at for a few months. The hardest job I've ever done in my life and I was fit doing wing Chun Kung Fu at the time in Adelaide.
Roos on the fringe of the desert are big, no doubt about it.
The border collies and kelpies ate Roo every night. 32 of them😂
I hate to say it, but there’s a direct road from Arkaroola to Yunta (rhymes with gun ta btw).
Which is much shorter than the way you went via Copley etc.
not the point I guess, but when you’re looking at big Kay’s at night out there it probably would’ve been the smart choice.
Great videos fellas.
Thanks Rob I will raise this with Clubby
RiP your friend. Lived his

life the way he should
That was my home town you went through. Coonalpyn. Duck into the bakery next time you come by 👍
Next time definitely.
Looks like an awesome trip. And for work purposes too!
Would you ever consider doing a test of the big bikes over an extended trip like this?
Yes.
I remember riding those dirt roads on the Suzuki gs750, so difficult. Did 60 miles one afternoon. Had a Yamaha xt500 that was far better but the Triumph 900 rally pro with good tyres and huge petrol tank is ideal.
But I do love the Rally Pro
Listening to your bike issues with standing and sitting and weight distribution. This is what you need to do.
Set your bike up for SAG. Front and rear the same. Riding gear luggage. Full of fuel and all. Put your bike in a bike tire chock and have your buddy / friend / amigo measure the distance between the axle and bottom of the shock. While your sitting in the seat foot on the pegs. I set mine for 2 1/2 inches of sag fully loaded fro t and rear. So when I stand or sit the bike is always compliant and center balanced. After your rally ride remember your daily settings and switch back. I'm an ex -Superbike racer.
You haven't been on this channel long. Have a look at our suspension videos.
Another excellent video Dave, always love watching your adventures. Owning a Tiger 1200 GT Pro, I was very interested to hear you opinion of the Rally version. Plus I can never get enough of the Australian landscape.
In regards to the fuel anxiety, I've found the indicated range to be very conservative. I have the 20 litre version and even when the range has gone down to basically 0, I could only get 18ish litres in it. I would love to know how much fuel it took when you were down to 17km of range left?
Yeah, the range certainly moved about
I currently ride the 900 rally pro, at 5’6” not the wisest choice but they look so good. Now i have done a couple of 800+ mile days riding through Europe and have to say, while the days were long, the comfort with the heated seat etc was fantastic.
I recently thought about trying out the 1200, although i would need to go for the GT because they have made them even taller, then i went and toppled over on the bike down a side street when turning, popped up on the path and when i went to dab my foot, the road was too far away.
Im wondering what a speedmaster would be like to tour on 🤔
Life is one big adventure
The 900 is the bike for Australia. I think it is exceptional.
You should have stopped in Peter Borough Circle Motel, and had a Coffee in the Iron Horse Café. Good Bike people. Still lovely ride through the Flinders. Nice Bike but too rich for me. I'll stick with my Transalp. Hehehe.
Ah the Honda. More news on that front.
I’ve just bought this very bike 🥰
Good choice!

great Video as usual. My wife and I spent 4 months riding in Australia as Part of our 1 years Bike Trip Back in 2009-10. Note Sure If i would Bring my AfrikaTwin or 690r with me🤯. the sheer distances and raw nature is true adventure, which we don't have here in Europe. thanks for all your Work in entertaining us here in germany👍👍
Thanks Michael and partner.
I noticed the large grill/ bumper on the semi tractor trailer.
Brilliant video as always. What tyre do you use for this trip?
Anarchy Wild
👌👌
Thank you
More and more im thinking about getting an adv bike but from all the reviews and research ive done i feel like something like the tiger 900 rally pro or 850 gsa is the best of both worlds
Mod sized twins are useful
Saving that gecko was the best part of the video
I do that all the time.
Those tyres on the Triumph looked like Anakee Wilds. If so, how did they handle the kilometres, and did you mess with the pressures between conditions ? Also, how effective were the lights in the night ? Loving the video thanks.
Didn't mess with pressures. Kept them reasonably high. They did all right. Not preferred choice of tyre, but I need to declare I am supported by. Pirelli. That aside I was buying Pirelli way before I was supported by them.
Big $.
"I haven't even THOUGHT about my butt cheeks in six days!" is possibly the greatest endorsement for a motorcycle seat.
Agreed. Clubby gold right there.
I had a triumph Daytona 900 and if it was under 5000 rpm below 80mph it was really economical for a large motor but above 5000 and harder acceleration it would drop below 40mpg otherwise o was getting a good 50mpg on a long run. The tiger would be similar I imagine. It was a lovely triple engine . So torquey .
Thanks. Yeah it had a lovely engine
What tank bag are you guys using?. Thanks. Great video by the way.
Giant Loop Fandango Pro.....we said this in the video.
How did the Anakee wilds hold up being on a big bike loaded up and doing big klms ?
Keep up the awesome work.
They were good. They did the job.
I did 4000km on mostly gravel, 25 kg load. I'm about 100kg in kit, on a 701. Nordic TET. Wilds did well, no punctures but battered at 4000km. I'm now using Moroz Rallz on the 701, but once I replace the tyres on my 900 Rally Pro I reckon Anakee Wilds again. Possibly Rallz. They are a really good all purpose tyre.
Great video boys, love it.
So question... 900 RP or 1200 RP?
900 for me
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Would be interested to know why you think the 900 is a better choice? Especially as I have an egal eye on getting one.
@@seanb1081 I prefer the 900
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Sounds good to me... but why?
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV can you answer his question?
That is my one complaint with the Tiger, having to stop to engage off-road mode. The first time I tried to engage on the fly I thought there must be something wrong with my bike.
I thought the same Martin.
Thanks for another great video. Nice bike but its a GS every time for me even though the roughest ground I ride over is a gravel car park.
Fair enough! I love the GS, an excellent Super Tourer
❤👌👍🙏
Amazing countryside and nice bike. Currently on late model super tenere and it performs well in this kind of riding. Would the tiger be worth it for a upgrade?. Cheers
I've ridden a lot of miles on the Super Tenere. That's its country.
Just about to depart soon for yet another crossing of the Nullarbor...on my 2016 SuperTenere., to Melbourne. I also have contemplated the switch to the Triumph, but the SuperTenere is just so comfortable and does the job so well. Yes, the Triumph is lighter, and that 30 litre tank has an attraction all its own, but is that enough to make me sell the T10 ? Only time, and possibly this video will tell. Somehow all the extra tech is maybe not enough to sway me to become disloyal.
Definitely major drawbacks on this bike are having to stop to change traction modes gets ridiculous if you are on and off tarmac like many of our rides are. By comparison when a good mate is riding his with me on my KTM I have 9 traction control settings on the fly.
Second is the air filter location, just absurd for adventure riding where it absolutely will be dusty.
Repairing a rear tyre takes 7 tools to pull the wheel out.
Apart from that they're fantastic bikes
It was a great bike for this trip.
The audience is listening...!
thank you
