If you’re dealing with a zombie infestation where the zombies are mindless and not supernaturally fast and the disease exists only in humans and it can only be spread through biting, it would be incredibly easy to contain. Humans aren’t really designed to be biters. Our teeth are small and our jaws are weak. I find it hard to believe that unarmed human who shamble around trying to bite people would ever defeat a modern military.
The only problem would be if they get close enough to bite, if the disease is really uncurable, there's no way to fight against a creature that can basicaly hit kill you
Not to mention horde are super vulnerable to even the most basic artillery not to mention Molotov
Not to mention that rotting flesh is less than normal for tasks such as running, chasing, biting or really anything for that matter and would stop functioning in a matter of hours or couple days at most.
Not to mention that if an actual zombie virus were to naturally evolve it would abide by the natural predator-to-prey ratio since zombies feed on humans and zombies would always be heavily outnumbered.

And to top it all off, a much weaker military than a nation like China and the USA. The best place for the zombie apocalypse would probably be the US, heavily armed population and actually low density plus a gigantic oversized military.

I've been thinking about a movie of zombies where a country blocks all of their subway tunnels, because an outbrake started there. Nowhere else in the country, yet. It'd be nice to watch it unfold: police dogs, moving wagons filled with people, commuting stations, and so on. There's stuff to work with, even blind people could use the dark tunnels to walk and whatnot

18:18 old castles would actually be perfect in a zombie invasion - they were designed for defence against foot soldiers that only fought with swords, had no modern guns, planes, altillery, etc.

The counter to zombies is mass mobilization, since the zombies are infecting civilians as cheap cannon fodder.
A alternative could be that the whole world would try to crush the infection before it spreads too far.
Those detailed battle plans with like defensive lines and such give me massive CoH vibes
Imagine that instead of East China, it occurred in Bangladesh. It has quite a bit more people then Russia, despite being much, much, much smaller. This results in a very high population density, especially in places like Dhaka.
Aside from a zombie apocalypse, much of Bangladesh is flat, low-lying land. This means that if all ice on earth melts, or at least, a very large portion, almost all of Bangladesh would be underwater.
Imagine this unrealistic scenario: a zombie outbreak started in Bangladesh quickly taking over the country then Bangladesh face a massive flood so 165 million Zombies are in the ocean (they can swim and cant die from starvation or dehydration cuz plot) terrorizing costal cities with suprise zombified human wave tactics
World War Z the movie has an entire scene with a man tuning into a zombie mid flight, and the humans have to fight the zombies on a passenger flight. Awesome scene

I think a zombie invasion in Europe would be pretty sick. Most of Europe is medieval towns, cities and villages meant to hold siege (or at least being defended from the high ground). Imagine, a herd of zombies invades your town and you're in your local castle throwing boiling oil, big rocks and mauling them with big knives
Since zombie apocalypes have been in the main stream culture for such a long time, I feel like it would be handled pretty well, and be able to be contained in one area. It also depends on how long it takes for people to transform once they've been bitten. If it takes a few seconds to a minute, the initial outburst would be very bad, but it couldn't spread to other areas of the world as easy. If it takes a few hours or even a day, the initial outburst wouldn't be too bad, but refugee's who were bit could travel to the other side of the world before they transform.
Also, if there is a zombie outburst, i'm traveling to Norway, Switzerland, or Alaska.
in wwz Britain was one of the countries to actually survive a zombie out break, with Scotland being of use to slow the horde to a halt, even Windsor has survived along with most of the government

What i would've loved is that the middle east, due to it being so chaotic already, would be like a _vietnam_ for the zombies. like think about it. if the country is already filled with militia and armed combatants all around, that normally fire on basically everyone, if they see a zombie, it would be shot down nearly instantly and unable to spread. also the thought of a zombie suicide bomber is weird, cause it god kills, but cause they blew up, it's not zombies.
That would be BAD. Sure, there are a lot of conflict, but a lot of those nations are horribly unstable and a zombie plague would push them over the edge. Also, most nations rely on exports for their food, weapons, and advanced good, and exports would be crippled early on, resulting in rapid shortages. Finally, a lot of those nations HATE each other and would refuse to work together. The only Middle Eastern nation that would fare well is Israel, which would probably go full World War Z in developing heavily defended cities with sustainable food/water production (they already have 95% water efficiency). Also, they have a significant buffer area around their nation and would be able to see an incoming horde before it arrived.
