    For the England tuition fee: it's the highest and it was protested a lot in the early 2010s. However, people don't need to pay back their loans until they earn over £21k a year (this amount changes). If you don't pay it by 30 years it gets removed or if you go abroad for 5 years. This is a simplified version ofc but most people don't pay it tbh

    This is just an educated guess, so take it with a grain of salt.
    There is a rule in biology that's called Bergmann's rule.
    An oversimplified summary is, that a species gets bigger the higher it lives up north.
    This is because a larger body has a better ratio of surface to volume and is therefore better at retaining temperature.
    The most frequently named examples are bears. Black bears, further north grizzlies and polar bears in the very north.
    Since Europe is pretty far up north (Germany is roughly at the same latitude as Saskatchewan) and went through colder periods in the past, humans might have evolved larger to retain body temperature more efficiently.

    • @Mr.Bellafante
      @Mr.Bellafante Před 2 lety +4

      For animal biology, which evolves over long periods of time within a consistent geographical region, this is accurate. Bears, rabbits, foxes, wolves, sharks, ect. For humans, the time periods are shorter and we move around more, so it's more of a consistent trend. The average for India and Italy is lower than the Average for Norway and Sweden, but only by a few percent.

      Large parts of Saskatchewan go further north and parts of Germany go further south.
      But they are roughly at the same latitude.
      And here where I live in Germany, we didn't even have snow once this winter. It only goes below 0°C at night.
      It's all due to the Atlantic's Gulf Stream.
      I just read the Wikipedia article.
      It said it transports 1,5 Petawatt
      (1,5 x10^15 W) of warmth to northern Europe.
      As much as a million of our most powerful nuclear reactors with 1000 Megawatt each.

      @@Mr.Bellafante
      Maybe those last few inches/cm are determined by environmental factors rather than by genetics.
      Europe is not just high up north but also surrounded by oceans. Winters are cold (compared to the equatorial region) but it doesn't get very hot in the summer either.
      North America and Asia have continental climate zones with very cold winters but also very hot summers.
      From a physiological standpoint, it might not make sense for an inhabitant of Siberia to grow very tall/big because of the hot summers.
      The climate is too diverse for people to put all their skill points into body temperature retention, so to speak...

    The age of countries is really a matter of perception. for example germany and italy were "created" when their sub-parts united, each of them melting some of themselves in the bigger structure. France is different because it has almost always grew by absorbing or vassalizing smaller regions, thus despite the various regime changes, from the first frankish kingdom to modern france, there was always an entity holding the name and legacy of the franks which never melted itself into something bigger.
    Most countries could claim to be older than they are seen as, but the issue is that many places owe their current borders and internal structure to their former colonizers, for for example it is hard to say modern egypt is a continuation to pre-colonial egypt because pre-colonial egypt is somewhat unclear (plus it was a sub-part of the ottoman empire).

In the early game, wait for the first troop cycle to end before attacking, don’t go all out because you overspread yourself without troops. Instead of wanting high interest, before attacking a larger or similar-sized opponent, wait for red interest. Hope this helps!

    7:47 and this is a guess. The real number is far higher. Keep in mind this is based off an estimate from registered firearms. More states don’t register firearms, than do. And where I’m from in the US it’s not uncommon for an individual to own what many would describe as an arsenal.
    If Admiral Yamamoto didn’t say the, “behind every blade of grass” quote. Whoever did hit the nail on the head.

    • @sukobb2336
      @sukobb2336 Před 2 lety

      Another thing to note about the gun video is that at least in Norway, the guns we have are quite different. Civilians that aren’t registered hunters or sport shooters can’t have semi automatic guns, and no civilian is allowed to own an automatic gun. (Some exceptions with collectors items)
      This means that people that aren’t trained and that have not taken a gun safety exam generally only own air pressure guns. Also in big cities there’s basically no guns at all and self defense firearms are extremely uncommon. The video makes it seem like a lot more people have guns in Norway than they actually do. The only people I know to have firearms are either hunters or people that own air pressure guns that wouldn’t really hurt you all that bad even if you got shot. Even the police in Norway rarely carry guns.

    8:25 it higly depends on which statistics you take for that comparison, but the one that was used is on the lower end for the estimated dark numeber, aka unrigistered guns. On the other hand the laws in Switzerland allow to own a lot of guntypes without any form of registration, which makes it really hard to know the exact numbers anyway. I have seen it from 1.5 million up to 3 million guns in the dark part. And since there are not many problems with gun-related violenc or accidents (around 200 deads per year with a good 90% of that being suicide) it's not something that gets discussed a lot.

    Being just about to finish my postgrad here, I find that laughable.
    Compared to Münster, Bonn feels like chaos. Also broke af.
    Nvm, I looked up some of those rankings and guess what, quality of education does not factor into them. It's more about diversity of nationalities at the uni (why?), impact factor and citations, publishing in general and working conditions.
