One of the things I appreciate the most about Miss Patti is that she handles delicate situations with such class. She NEVER outed Luther (although most people knew he was gay), and she knows Mariah's voice was terrible in a few performances (but never drug her under the bus). It's not what you do, but how you do it, and Miss Patti is a class act!

The times I spent talking with her believe me when I tell you she meant no harm...I wouldnt tell you anything I did not know... she Loved Luther Check out the Tribute she did for him singing Way Up there...she lost her voice because she was so over whelmed by his passing...
I'm glad Luther didn't expose his sexuality to the world back then... It was such a harsh/negative vibe for gay men (especially famous ones), I think it could've easily ended his career. He made the right choice at keeping his business private imo. Luther Vandross was an amazing male singer and possessed one of the greatest vocal tones I've ever heard. I wish he was still alive.
Stephon Jackson I disagree that Luther should've stayed closeted. Sometimes being authentic, visible, and aware of an important issue is more valuable than a "career" you can't take money into the afterlife, you can however leave a lasting legacy on this world.
I disagree. I think he should have came out because he would have been accepted. He had the talent and everyone knew that he was gay anyway. Just like Queen Latifah, Da Brat, Missy Elliott, and Tyler Perry. Plus it will help to reduce hate for gay people.
