- G'day guys, today we are reacting to Pentatonix Someone That I Used To Know. No matter how many songs I hear from Pentatonix I always find my new favourite. This was a great performance in a stairwell. Everyone killed it in this song, Kevin was on point with his sounds.

PTX is just so incredibly inventive, as well as perfectly blending in their harmonies, virtually every single time. It's just amazing. Loved this - AND I had not seen it before!

Yep, just gather 5 people in a stairwell and listen to them crank out a song that sounds as good as (if not better) than the original - they are so good. This is one of my favorites. If you really want to see how they can cover pretty much every genre - take a look at "Can't Hold Us". That one ALWAYS blows my mind how good it is. Keep up the great reactions! :-)
Can you react to ‘Dancing on my own ‘ by PTX. It’s one of only two (I think) videos where there is just 4 of them and was filmed between Avi leaving and Matt joining. It also has more of Kevin playing the cello as they use it to cover the bass parts.
This was their third video on CZcams I think. Their first official type of video. They all look so young! If you're looking for more PTX recommendations I'd react to Problem, La La Latch and Gold.

Every now and then I see you perk up to different sounds you are hearing and it makes me smile : ) There is a video called "Meat and Potatoes" that explains Avi and Kevin's connection and ability to work so well together. And may want to check out Avi "Over tone singing The Lion sleeps tonight", I always suggest those 2 videos for those picking up on the "little things".

Love the Aussie crossover of this cover. Wally (Gotye) used to play drums in the orchestra for a bunch of musicals I was in back in the day. Good Old Paradian boy from Melbourne 😉
I love listening to avi on the drops in this and then the contrast of his solo and back into the bass line is just awesome.

I think this might have been Avi’s first solo line, at least, it was the first I noticed. Little Drummer Boy has Kevin’s first solo singing-I listened to that the night it was released on iTunes before the video was released, and I was really startled to hear a new voice!
Yep it was his first. I remember when I 1st watched it and his voice just popped up out of nowhere. I was like you mean to tell me this whole time he was hiding this

Scott ran into Gotye at a club and he said he loved this cover. Gotye was floored and sent the link to his dad when it came out. Notice this was VERY early in their career -- just after The Sing-Off, actually. Because of the multiple camera angles I am doubtful this was a "live" version. I think this was actually one of their first "edited" videos as their previous videos were all of them on the couch.
They picked this location for the acoustics and very recently said that this is their first viral video! Amazing! I think I'm late to the party but CZcams is not giving me notifications and when I look at your channel I don't see Pentatonix so I didn't mean to not show up I just haven't seen anything. I was just watching a compilation video called the trio that a fan put together and you should watch it cuz it goes pretty far back. You'll see how much more control they have especially young Mr Grassi. He was definitely the most improved player mainly because of his control he gained so rapidly. But you see it in this compilation that they weren't much younger than they are right in this video and I believe this had two again right after The Sing-Off because all he still has the haircut going on. I'm not certain though at all. But it was really fun to watch Mitch being the beatboxer. I guess Mitch, at this point in his career, (if he put his mind to it) could probably do it just like Scott suddenly is a bass singer when the need arises! Like the Christmas tour and the video of mr. Grinch Scott is very clearly doing bass while Matt is very clearly having one heck of a time and working off some energy! And they're little background number is so awesome they look like A Chorus Line almost! I bet that if it would have been a regular concert and not one with an audience filled with people from 5 to 95, theyd've been kicking their legs like Rockettes because they do have a sense of humor! The Trio still likes to cut up! Since I think you'll enjoy seeing them so young but together and working their little selves to sound as big as three people can I'm going to put that Linked In cuz I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and I think you would laugh at when they're goofing off as well.

You might try watching 'Somebodies' by Gotye. Goyte loved all the covers so much that he took a bunch of them and mashed em together, including PTX. Its awesome to see an artist appreciate fan covers. -Watch as many PTX videos as you want. I love watching. The problem is that eventually you'll run out. plus their newer songs tend to be copyrighted.

im here listening to this and watching you react for the third time and i realized that kevin's shh sound is a bit distracting in the song but he did that a good bit the first few years i haven't heard him do it lately though. its just usually louder than the others. live and learn i guess as this was one of their first after the show. maybe it just bothers me lol
I think you're very versatile in your reactions, a wide range of different types and styles. Really enjoy your mini concerts when you do them. Since I don't do gaming I don't watch those but I wouldn't want you to stop doing them, you and other people enjoy them. Don't worry about the Debbie Downers (as I call em) they'd bitch if hung with a new rope.
