In this video we take a look at the new kid on the block the speed flea gps speed meter
we put it up against the skyrc gsm 015 to see how long they both take to register and to see if there is any differences between the 2 in terms of speed readings
this 1 should be interesting as the speed flea has just entered the market and the skyrc gsm 015 has been around a while now

Thanks for the review.
Now if you say a RC Plane going 70MPH (Can be anything from about18MPH upto well over 100MPH) the speed flea gps speed meter 64 gives getting near 26feet travelled between readings where as the skyrc gsm 015 gives only just over 10feet travelled between readings and a 0.25second between readings the speed of the plane can change a lot in 0.25seconds and also the skyrc gsm 015 is fully encased with it's own battery so for a extra £15 there is only one winner for me.

Great vid mate been waiting for this one. Love the size of the speed flea being so small its ideal to fit under a body. The start up time was a little disappointing. I think i will stick to my trusty old GSM-015 for now haha old faithful! Although i do like the new one with the app!

SPEED-FLEA V1.2 gets GPS module data every second, so you would need to hold your speed for at least one full second.
GPS is very accurate so there will be no difference in the speed readings given the 1 second at speed required.
Thanks for the comment.the speed-flea v1.2 as advertised on your website is ready within 15 to 30 seconds.fast startup time as you advertise on your website it takes as near as damn it 10x longer to register than the skyrc gps and this is everytime not a cold startup ive tried it numerous times in different locations and always the same result.the fact it takes 1 second to register the speed is an absolute age in speed running if your doing 100mph+ its the difference between crashing and stopping compare that to the skyrc which updates 10x a second and its a product thats unreliable and inaccurate.you say your new product released today is 4 x faster than the previous 1 well thats still 5 x slower than the equivalent skyrc gps
It's worth mentioning that the newest version of the Speed Flea now has a refresh rate of 0.25 seconds. This should fix the issue of speed measurement difference between your units.
It should do but it still not the refresh rate of the skyrc which is 10x a second

Great video mate. The Speed Flea is probably taking longer due to it doing a cold start. If it was the first time you powered it on it will take way longer to find a lock. Once it has found a lock next time it'll power up with a lock way quicker. 👍

I wonder inside an actual car you drive back and forth to work which is more accurate to a real car gauge or to say a phone gps? I like that its small but dang its like waiting for a tube amp to warm up. Eventually the GPS will be in the receiver and transmitter and we will get all this kind of data on out transmitters
Yeah it takes an age to start up.if they do it built in that will be so much better and easier.
would be good to actually test them in your car with phone GPS and car speedo running along side both
I must admit, I have the same issues with my speed flea and after having to wait so long for it I was very disappointed
Its quite annoying the nearly 3 minutes waiting every time I could have done 5 runs in that time using the skyrc hope your well mate
SPEED-FLEA has a 1 second refresh rate, so you have to run it for a whole second at the top speed. Blipping it about won't give you an accurate reading.
i found old gps have a catch up like of a second or 3 .....i only own 1 gps and it finds gps within 10-15 second on avg sometimes within 10 seconds but only goes to 99mph i am sure and dont know the delay time (close to 3seconds i say) but am looking at getting a speed fle as the size .....love the car was guna buy a rolling chassis for 70 for wood bashing

That's a bit disappointing the old Speed-flea. I do like the compact size, but what's the point if it inaccurate. 👍👍
Exactly mate.they now say it takes 1 second to update so you have to hold full throttle for 1 second well I did that and it read lower still.the size is great the weight is great the usability is terrible.and the 3 minute startup time is shocking when they advertise 15 to 30 seconds on top of that they charge people for the latest update 🙄 and then announce today a new product.shocking
