Did I see correctly that this effect doesn't displace the source pixels? If so its probably a good idea to combine with a displacement map to get some more depth into your image...
You know with all these wonderful tutorials to explain AE effects, it'd be cool if you made a sorta simple clip utilising some of these effects and gave us the materials you used and left us to work from a similar starting point as you had when you made it. The goal being for us to figure it out and achieve a similar result as you show, while applying some of the things you've taught.
Yeah, the point of this series is to have some kind of encyclopedia for AE, some of the tools in this series are pointless, some of them are outdated. But since AE is such a powerful tool with a variety of usecases, most people use only a fraction of it. So this series is such a treasure to intermediate AE users, who want to get a better knowledge and maybe find some new ways to speed up their workflow. Keep up the awesome work, Jake.
I completely understand your frustration, but it's because there are nearly 300 effects in After Effects and it's just totally unrealistic to create use cases for ever single one of them. The goal of this series is to create a visual user guide of what ever effect does and how it works. From here it's up to you to begin to experiment and get creative trying to find good uses of the effect. And if you come up with something unique, interesting and helpful, share it with the community!
This series is the best thing happened in CZcams. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!
You’re doing a great job brother May Allah(SWT increase you in after effects knowledge…keep doing what you’re doing Insha Allah…

Awesome Job Jake. Thanks
Thank you for the series!
What would be the case to use it? If you can usually use a texture with different blending modes?
thank you!!
يا رهيب Texturize افكت جميل جدا تحية لك من اليمن
I wish this too had more controls like move with object that’s linked, etc.
is there any difference between using the texturize effect for compositing textures into an object and using blending modes for that ?
The main difference is the ability to change the light angle.
@@JakeInMotion that was what I want to learn. Thanks Jake

Why don't you add "uses" of the effects also? is not only important how to use components of an effect but knowing what can we achive with it
