I wrote this effect in 1998. It's great to see that someone really took the time to understand how all the features work, almost 25 years later!
@@oDannyMitchello There is structure between the bubbles -- they collide and stick, and then resist being pushed together or pulled apart.
Not all heroes wear capes
this is your legacy man, well done.
thank you, Jonathan!
I used this in animaniacs on hulu!!!! It saved my life! Might be my top “completely improvised” effect idea I did. It worked extremely well with 2d animation because the animated drawings I made looked really natural because of the interactions with each other
Oh my god I never knew this effect existed!! There are SO many possibilities with this. Great video!
Thanks Wren! Not sure if you remember, but we met at the NAB Adobe party in 2019. Love what you're doing at Corridor!
I would love to see Corridor have Jake on to do some sort of Ae challenge. What an epic combination of two of my favorite YT channels.
Absolutely, you should have Jake on corridor or your channel to do some ae challenge!
Wren???? This is sick
Wow, I guess Wren doesn't know everything after all...
I'm so happy that you're going through all of the AE effects. It's so needed and welcome.
Hey Viewer: If you’re thinking, “This one is long…maybe not,” you will be sad you didn’t watch. It’s amazing, thorough, and ALWAYS well paced
Jake, I can't thank you enough for this series of videos.. You have uncovered so many hidden gems in AE that I never would have found. On top of that, you are concise and easy to follow.. Thank you for the great work!
Man I absolutely love this series. It's expanding so much of what I know is possible with After Effects. Every time I watch one I find myself going "oh I could make something like x and use this effect for y!" Super inspirational and your narration and voice is perfect. Keep it the hell up!!!
WOW! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, sir. I've been wondering how this effect works. I once applied it and it just looked like something useless and random because I didn't understand it.
You've just given great ideas.
I think you're my favorite CZcamsr. I love you, man. Keep up the great work! 👍🏾
Been using after effects since version 6.5, and still learning new features! Appreciate the series much!
I'm gonna have to really explore this effect, actually the entire simulation folder because it gives you so many controls. Seems very underrated! Great Tutorial thanks again Jake!!
I’m especially excited about the user defined shapes!
Jake? This channel is a goldmine! Thank you so much for your time and effort. I love your intro by the way!
I've used this effect a few times, but I had no idea how deep it was. I love this series, please keep it up!!
Hey thank you so much for this series. It is invaluable and your explanations are clear and concise. Cheers.
Wow, the series is getting interested day by day. Can't wait to explore more by learning from you. I really enjoyed learning this effect as well and it have really great features and controls.
Thank you, bro for sharing. Your teaching style is so impressive. 💖💯👍
These tuts about internal AE FX are great, thanks Jake!
I love that you're just going through absolutely everything in AE. Thank you!
Wow! Jake I didn't know this effect at all and I just love it now, amazing tutorial as always, best teacher ever. Thank you Jake 🙌
Your tutorials are the BEST! Keep'em going!!!
this is great! Love your tutorials, I didn't even know about half of these effects before watching your videos.
This was such great timing for me! I was trying yesterday to get some sparkles to move along a path and using CC Particle Systems. It always moves way to fast and then I end up precomping to slow it down...and I couldn't get it do what I wanted along the path. I just tried with the foam effect instead and got exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for all of these insightful uses-- I'm really enjoying this series!
love your tutorials! gosh, there seems a lot to learn in AE! more power!
Thanks a lot! Your tutorials are really awesome and your style definitely appeals. Gonna explore all of the videos)))
always good, clear, concise thanks
Such an awesome effect
Incredible!! Thanks man!!!
Every day I wake up and learn about some stuff I should have known about and had access to years ago. Thank you for these gifts :D
Fantastic - how many more effects are there to discover that I knew nothing about!
Superb video, Jake, thanks for taking the time
KP
These videos are fantastic!
Great tutorial, you opened another new door in the world of AE for me; thanks Jake!
fantastic video!! thank you so much for your competence 🥳
flow map is gonna be very useful. thanks!
Feels really weird to be watching an AE tutorial on the day it's released, this was an excellent deep dive into the foam effect. Learned some stuff, thanks. Gird.
Yep! I was very happy when you got to the rendering section, particularly Bubble Texture option. But when you got to the Flow Map section, my imagination started running wild!
Thanks, Jake.
I'll find out soon enough, but I started wondering if a user-defined texture could be in the form of a 3D object, like... well... a ball... an already textured ball.
Thanks for the tutorial.
I'm going to use this for my explainer camp project. Perfect timing! I got Jake instruction coming out of my ears!
Woohoo!
THANK YOU!!!!
Jake is back!
I love this. I would actually like to have scenes inside bubbles, but I think that I will experiment a bit.
This is incredible.
that was incredible
this very very nice thank you very much 🙏👏
1) Another great tutorial,
2) Jake's new AMD processor in action 😉
3) you're meant to teach & distill knowledge, & make the complex easier to digest,
4) If possible, make other tutorials on AE's advanced work flows (skillshare ones are gems),
5) Can't wait to see your CINEMA 4d classes along with AE (real VFX stuff taught by my favorite teacher)
Thanks a lot, Jake!
You are MASTER-teacher!
SUPERB!! I use to make 3 or 4 baubles and replicate them all over the place lol
Thanks so much for your tips here! Do you have any quick advice as to any way one can animate the flow map layer shape and have the bubbles follow?
No one talks like you. Thanks. :)
This is crazy :D I would probably never use this plugin ... So many options
GREAT series! Thanks Jake.
A few years ago I bought the 'After Effects Illusionist' book to see what all the effects are for, but that failed. Your videos have quickly replaced that.
Out of curiosity: do you or anyone else know who 'wrote' all of the effects that are included in AE? Are they all in from the start of the program or were these effects created outside of Adobe by 'volunteer/fans' and later on added to the program?
with a blur and choke, you could get a water simulation with that i think
I’m having a problem with how to make the Kirby krackles looks better, I’m using mr. mercury at the moment but this just solves my problem. Thanks man.
I'm trying to make an effect closer to bubbles coming up from the bottom (like an Aquarium). I put the Producer point at the bottom, and make the X & Y Producer size so the bubbles will be created near the bottom. Then I bumped up the Initial Speed to 2.5. I'm trying to keep the bubbles from spreading out too far, especially as they reach the top of the screen. If anyone had any suggestions to create this, please let me know.
End of Keyframe Data
Great tutos! I love them! Kudos! But... You could show the end result in the verey beginning of the video. This way we wouldn´t need to go to the end to see if this is what we need
I hear you, but that's not always a possibility with every effect. This one, for instance, could be used to create a multitude of results. It's not as straightforward as a blur or distortion effect. To get a quick overview (with preview) of each effect, just go to the adobe effects list. You can find it in the Help menu of AE.
is it possible to make it render different color bubbles?
so can you use Flow Map somehow to make it so that the bubbles goes through the Z axis
No, unfortunately this is only a 2d particle generator.
Oh, the places you'll foam!
Hey, It's been a while since the vid was uploaded but I've got a problem, I hope maybe you'll see this. I want to use a Flow map, the only issue is that it's animated, however when I try to apply it, the animation doesn't work, it stays still on a random frame while the bubble effect does it's thing. I've got "Effects & Masks" turned on as well.
Is it possible to do this?
Same here. Even when Flow Map isn't animated, it doesn't work. Trying to invert white to black etc. Doesn't work.
Maybe something in the tutorial doesn't show a critical step to initiate it?
where can i get some free sound effect, just like the one u used in ur intro? can u help jake?
The ones I used specifically are from the Mt Mograph extension called boombox. But, Adobe has a massive library of sound effects to download for free: www.adobe.com/products/audition/offers/AdobeAuditionDLCSFX.html
@@JakeInMotion thanks a lot !
Record your own. It’s super satisfying.
Умничка!
why was I using other particle sims to create bubble FX. This does such a better job!
Which screen recorder are you using?
OBS
@@JakeInMotion obs recording now, but why not good quality. Monitor size 1440×900
I record at 1080p
@@JakeInMotion ok thanks bro
MY BUBBLES, MY BUBBLESSSS!!!
