    This is one of if not THE best executed flashlight reviews I've ever seen. I rarely comment on you tube but this needs mentioning. Your testing, explaining really makes it clear you hare read up on the product, not just reading specs of the box like 90% of flashlight reviewers do. But most of all your presence and connection when talking to the camera. I'v'e not heard of you before but I'd be willing to bet you spent a fair amount of time in front of a camera. Either that or you have some great talent, either way, million subscriber class content!

    Thank you for the information Alex. I'm glad there are people who take the time to do these types of evaluations. Take this as a compliment, you were tailored to do this and I wish you great success. I sell Fenix flashlights at my walk in store and it gave me great ideas how to present the sale of this type of flashlight. Keep up the good work, Ric.

    I bought one of these this week and and am impressed. For the money, you cannot get a flashlight that is this small that can throw the beam as far this one can. You can spend less and maybe throw further but those lights are huge and have giant heads and reflectors. The TK30 is the size of other tactical lights but sends a beam down the road like the giant flashlights that you simply could not carry with you every day. Pricey but a very cool flashlight to own.

    That shining out the door & being able to see happens all the time. LED lights shine brightly on near objects on either side of the target. Even though the throw reaches the target, it is not bright enough on the target to make up detail. Excellent review.

    I bought two, they are amazing, they will be retiring my surefire and fenix pd35's. For usage I think their overall best for guns but the throw is the best feature for EDC the power rarely goes out. Oh and I can find my dog(s) if they run outside in the dark. There is another comparable white laser flashlight that's much cheaper called the trustfire for only $99 thinking about buying that one as well for more guns. Overall very impressed with this tk30 it illuminates the target very clearly, no other flashlight I have, no surefire or fenix, can fully illuminate the target at let alone 40 feet this flashlight fully illuminates the same at 2500 feet it never gets weak. It really is amazing it illuminates 3937.008 feet clouds at night like an air raid spotlight with the same brightness consistently. Only downside is that it has an extremely visible beam, you will be seen from space although very fun to play with it's not good for concealment and at very close ranges 5 to 10 feet the beam is the size of a basketball so using to search a confined space in the dark is not recommended.

    • @PowderMill
      @PowderMill Před 3 lety

      @@highwaymen1237 it came from a Fenix dealer in Texas. I’m not sure exactly how to detect a counterfeit, but it looks and feels 100%.
      I can’t recall the name of the company, but they had most of the more scarce flashlight available. The Fenix website 20% off promo code was tempting, but I needed the light right away. After all is said and done, the laser type flashlight is nice and their three bulb 9000 lm flood is great... but.. nothing compares to the Olight magnetic charging system.
      One other point.. The side button on the Phoenix lights is terribly hard to locate when it’s dark.
      And... The specialized battery ($99) of the very expensive 9000 lm flashlight is most definitely going to be a problem when it needs replacement.
      Overall, I just bought the new OLight mini “something “ (forgot the name 😉😷🤣) or I’m just getting old...
      Is a phenomenal flashlight *OTHER* then the fact it is so small physically. It is the new light with a base mounted stainless steel switch AND A rubberized side mounted switch. It has the magnetic olight charging system which I just love. And the base mounted switch is incredibly well designed.
      BTW: OLight makes a great product (not all for sure) but their customer service is absolutely miserable.
      I’ve spent about $3k with them this year alone... and I received a damaged package with items missing (the delivery guy pointed out the damage and asked if I still wanted to accept it. (I stupidly said “yes”. )and they still have not replaced the damaged and missing lights.
      Their packages come straight from China and their customer service is apparently located there as well. They have a poor command of the English language (if you are primarily doing business in the USA and represent yourselves as a US company, you should have employees that speak the language fluently) and do not answer the phones and do not reply to emails.
      IF you are lucky enough to get a functional product, then it is probably going to work for a long time. The problem is if you have a problem, there is no one to communicate with. Most of the lights I’ve purchased have been just fine, it’s just when you need help there is no one there.
      The OLight store CZcams channel is as fake as fake can be. They don’t show the Chinese CCP owners and Do not show the slave workers assembling product. They have a few fake actors pretending the company is theirs..

      Boris & Chen Good question. Measurements from company to company can vary depending on the testing methods, so maybe they just tested differently? If I had both lights I would do a side by side comparison, but my flashlight budget is not that big yet! Thanks!

      Same lumens but different optics, more lens diameter in w30 is doing more colimated light.

      W30 is way brighter than the Tk30....I’ve had mine for almost 1 year and it is incredible....It’s not the Lumens that give it the pure White intense light it’s the Candela Rating which is around 1 million candela.......Buy one before there all gone as they are discontinued😀

    • @WillEDC
      @WillEDC Před 3 lety +1

      W30 is focused tighter which is brighter but a smaller hotspot. I have both these lep and the w30 decimates then tk30. I’ll probably do a review later

      The W30 is a better thrower but that is to be expected because it is a much larger light.

      Black and White with Gray Cool! Any recommendations for a perfect edc that’s about PD36R size with dual tail switches?

    • @BlackandWhitewithGray
      @BlackandWhitewithGray  Před 3 lety +1

      @@robtboneallen7707 Dual tail switches? That is hard to find on a small light, but the Fenix TK26r has two tail buttons, you might want to check that.

      Black and White with Gray I know! I have the TK26R and I love it. Just wish it was a little smaller in diameter like the PD36R! If they kept the smaller head it would be perfect. Little too big for edc

    It seems apparent that all us LED/LEP fanatics are especially intelligent & very well spoken group. I have about 20 LEDs, mostly Fenix, top lm being the ol' 6klm RC40. My new favorite is the TK16 V2 with 3100lm. It's also my go to gift for others. Since I'm like most of us, I overdo it so I ordered the TK30 just cuz it's small. But few wks ago I received the Weltool W4, my 1st LEP, & mind is blown. 2900m, 9415ft, 1.8miles. I mean as those of us old enuf to remember the 8 D cell, bigshot of its day, plastic lantern flashlight or any other from 1965 to biggest Mags are pathetically dim jokes compared to current tech. If I'd had a 1000lm led let alone Weltool W4 LEP at 2 wk sleep away camp in San Gorgonio Mtns near Redlands, CA in '66, '67, they'd think I, light or both were from a distant galaxy. My life is so involved in lights. LEP, not an EDC, around house use unless u live countryside ranch style so for me it's a funtoy joytoy.
    It reminds me of difference between looking thru binocs v observatory telescope. Binocs are worthless for outerspace. Telescopes are worthless for inner/terrestrial sight-seeing, be it birdwatching, concerts or sporting events...more or less. From these to IR illuminators around outside house for security cams, to Blackoak 3100lm mini LED pods mounted on my hood-flood on pssgr side, spot on driver's with 2 separate switches on dash, under key ignition switch, to 20klm motion sensor stadium lights in yard, some which are all plugged into remote controlled Dewenwils or Etekcity plugs on same channel so with a single click I can turn on 6 & flood the Ppty to illuminate, scare off (good luck) coyotes or humanoid intruders. So thanks to everyone of my bros & sisters who are such an enlightened group & if u want 1.8miles of throw, snag a Weltool W4 for about $280-$300. It'll make you wanna start your own search & rescue biz or become a sniper of bad guys hiding in dark waaay far away. I'm doing neither obviously. I'm just the same little kid who's obsessed, fascinated by this stuff.

      Thanks for the info. Can this LEP technology damage vision, either human or wildlife?

    • @hubnickels7378
      @hubnickels7378 Před 2 lety

      @@reggierendert6494 from quick cursory research: a blue laser shines onto a phosphor element which then converts that laser light to good ol' regular white broad-spectrum light. There is absolutely *zero* risk of laser eye injury. There is, however, the very real risk of damaging someone the way an extremely bright source of light can. Except with a LEP flashlight, that beam of light is much more focused.

    these LEP flashlights are alot more usable then LED throwers. i only owned 1 good thrower, Nitecore P30 and i was blinded by its beam. one cant see really far away while HE hold the flashlight. a low-lumens flashlight is alot better.

    They need to put the TK30 or even better the W30 laser type in the middle of a 1500ish lumen led flood type to get flood to make these usable.
