- After the lockdown lifted, we went for Trev hunting around the harbour with the hoping to encounter the mighty Kingfish. Our wishes came true.
Although it was just shy 5cm from legal size, the thrills and experiences landing this fish safely what intrigued us to always keep chasing it.
Light setup
Rod = Okuma LRF2 2-4KG
Reel = Shimano Vanford 2500
Main line = PowerPro 8lb
Leader = 10lb Sunline FC Rock
Lure = Zman Slim swim Blue glimmer 2.5' with 1/12 weight.

Can't wait to hook onto my first king of the season, last summer was too good to not experience again. Do you find that spot gets busy?
Lately been quite busy to be honest. If we see there are 3 rods out already we go elsewhere.

As usual, let it sink on the bottom, then double hop and sink again. It strike as it hop almost on the bottom area
What co,our and sizes of soft plastic do you find effective to use on bust ups?
