With too many jigheads collecting dust, I decided to put them to use-rigging up pilchard cubes on a 3-gram jighead size 1/0 to see how they work for trevally, or probably other species

How this rod performed with jigs 60-100?What is the best match do you think?
I would say 100g would be the sweet spot. I tried 60-80g.

@@shorejiggerchris3364 80g still good but 100-150g would be best. I still trialing this rod too, I’ll give more feedback when casting heavier
@@indosydneyfishing no need for heavier i think.Most people use 80-100 jigs and rarely 120.I am also waiting this rod to arrive but at the shop it felt much stiffer than 100H.Lets see in the field

Try to get yourself down to the outer tubes at point perpendicular in Jervis bay. Go once the water hits 20 deg C. Another spot to get a landbased spanyard or Cobia is Hat Head. Very long walk bro but in early Nov the whales run back south past there and the fish follow. Chance of longtails in the warmer months 🤙

There’s the maikuro that’s pretty cheap haven’t tried it myself. But if you step up to $200 I would recommend the hardrocker BB 4-8kg rated to throw out 40g lures 8’6 for casting distance aswell

@@raj1634 that’s good combination bro. Leader don’t go more than 40lb, otherwise you’ll hear weird sound everytime you cast. 30lb max in my opinion

Definitely not too heavy bro. 169gram only. For rockfishing you want to be able to lift big squid too, this rod is perfect.

Since when do fishing licences fall under the authority of NSW Police? As far as I'm aware it's the job of NSW Fisheries to police. What a waste of resources. It must be a low-revenue month.

@@spaceyau2713 From the research I conducted 'before' writing my comment it is the job of Fisheries Inspectors to conduct licence checks and to check that the catch complies with regulations. However, I will concede that Police (mainly Water Police) can take some of these duties on, if they have received the proper training. These guys didn't appear to be Water Police, I may be wrong.
I totally understand the life jackets after people have died, but a fishing license… it should not be a thing. Why would you tax a relaxing hobby? W@nkers

it could bro, but from what I've seen, jewfish/big flathead and some sharks would take the bait. If you after kingfish, live bait prawn/yakka would work best

Bro, In winter, it can be beneficial to use both bait and lures. Bait can be more effective in colder temperatures because fish tend to be less active and more attracted to the scent and taste of natural bait but everyone has their own preferences and techniques.
