    AMENDMENTS: I completely forgot about the FH2023’s nose, antenna, and rear wing customization. That is my bad. However I don’t change my opinion that VRC has the better model. The customization is more in depth, and has more going on with the 3 separate rear wings, as well as the wheels.
    If this video came off with a heavy dose of recency bias In favor for VRC. I will admit I was pretty hype driven for this car, however sleeping on it. I still don’t disagree with 90% of what i stated (amendments below), but I will say I should have had some more energy when talking about the FH2023.
    I have also seen comments that Max Verstappen has actually driven RSS’s most recent F1 offerings, and said they where actually too lively. And I cannot argue with that, however I will bring up a slight point that his car is by far the most stable and planted on the grid, so I could see it as plausible that the FA2023’s representation isn’t wrong either, it may just represent a slower more in-Ruley car, and VRC still stand by their data.
    I will refresh my total “score” for this comparison to 4/2. I will give both a point for the physics. I still personally believe that VRC’s model overall is better both looking and it’s customization, however that is something more subjective that you guys can come to your own conclusions on.
    Finally, I’d like to retract my comment about the 2 models being made as a knee jerk reaction to VRC last year. I was aware about the Ukrainian based model producer on there team having to flee due to the war, and that it was a thank you to the community for waiting. It just had slipped my mind as I was more focused on the FH2023, and regardless Its a speculative and irrelevant statement for this review.
    Thank you for watching and reading, I hope this can clear the air!

    RSS’s car was leagues ahead of the car they made the year before as well as the vrc from 2022, but VRC just knocked them out of the park completely. A lot of the bigger features from the rss car in 2023 that were new were taken from the 2022 VRC car. So maybe we’ll see if they improve on what vrc has done again next year but I have no doubt vrc will make it go insane again.

    Funny thing is, Verstappen tried the previous RSS FH cars and actually said they were not planted enough, so maybe this FH23 should be more to what he feels in the IRL car. (Also said liked more the FH cars) And yes, like someone said on the comments, the FH23 also has different aero packages. Best thing of this FA23 could be the feature part, love that different wheel and clutch system.

    Having purchased the VRC 2023 car this morning, I have to 100% agree on the sound...especially on the external camera.
    Mr.Mike has outdone himself on this one. It is eargasm listening to the gurgle and pops due to unstable combustion at off-throttle moments.
    One thing missing from just about every formula car in AC, is the clunk at clutch take-up.

    the vrc car feels flawless to drive, but it's a little fast, not the biggest issue when they just race against eachother, but the rss 2021 and 2020 struggle to keep up with it, where in real life they're 3+ seconds faster a lap.
    Also I think I prefer external sounds of the rss car, but internal of the vrc car

    • @Schmawlik
      @Schmawlik Před rokem +7

      Hi! The VRC FA23 physics were modeled to be accurate in lap times whenever the Pirelli specified restrictions are met with the setup of the car. Example of Pirelli restrictions for the tyre compound, and the limits set for camber, toe, and tyre pressures -> content.presspage.com/uploads/2363/1920_15-nl-preview-en.jpg?10000
      The other thing to keep in mind is the AI for the VRC FA23 will actually manage the ERS deployment in order to maximize lap times similarly to how they do so in real life, the RSS FH23 AI cannot do this.

VRC car is just on another level. The only thing i'm worried about is skins: a week after the release we only have aston martin and a low quality red bull skin, while on rss side we already had the full pack. • @asehauDLM

    RSS releasing 2 cars last year has nothing to do with VRC and it was definitely not a "last minute reaction". Their lead 3d artist and his family had to flee the Ukraine because of the Russian Invasion and that's why development was halted for months. And as a thank you to the community they decided to release 2 cars. Have you ever opened up both cars in showroom and inspected them closely? Because then you would see that the RSS 3d model is superior in every way. Super smooth, excellent details and textures with one of a kind carbon details on the floor. While the FA23 is a big step up from the FA22, it still doesn't even come close to the RSS model. Go up close to the FA23 sidepods, you can literally see the hard edges in the model, no smoothing at all. Really reminds me of rFactor 1 mods from 2010. Now to the physics. Can anyone tell my why a stable and planted car is supposed to be "unrealistic"? Max Verstappen has driven previous versions of RSS Formula Hybrid and he said that those were really nice but (!!!) they weren't stable enough. If the current F1 champion is telling you that your car needs to be more stable you better listen and that's one of the reasons why the FH23 is even more planted. Modern F1 cars aren't loose and lively, I have no idea where this misconception is coming from. Your comparison is filled with misinformation and it's insulting to RSS, to VRC and also to us as viewers since you clearly haven't done the research necessary to be able to make a truthful and unbiased comparison between the two cars.

      I was initially flabbergasted by the Alpha 23, and while I still think it is a very nice mod, I currently think the FH23 is definitely far more like the real thing. The plantedness and weight of the car is much better modeled in the physics of the FH23. I base this on comments from F1 drivers about how modern F1 cars drive, and what I see on tv and onboards. Most defintely the FH23 captures the feel of a real F1 23 car better. The FH23 also has more detailed FFB, and gives you more information about grip levels especially in slow corners. The Alpha is far too quick in a straight line with KERS button, also it changes direction extremely quick at the front, like a much lighter car. So yeah, after 2 days of driving them both the FH23 is the better modern F1 mod, 3d model is better on the FH23 as well.

    • @kiekiek
      @kiekiek Před rokem +2

      Yes, after 1.1 the Alpha 23 clearly is better than the Hybrid 23. The differential options and physics that comes with them makes all the difference. With 1.0 I was not convinced, but 1.1 changed the game. Incredible car, new benchmark for Assetto Corsa. @@WilliamGawlik

    The VRC Alpha is leaps and bounds better than the Hybrid from RSS. The Alpha is alive, has so much detail in the physics depending on your input. The RSS is quite dead in comparison.And oh man that FFB feel of the Alpha, just pure pleasure on a direct drive wheel. Physics, sounds, options, FFB, VRC is the clear winner. Only the model of the cars themselves are equal in my opinion. So I bascially agree with Jacob. Highly recommended to always drive with csp physics though for either car, both cars benefit greatly from it, be it FFB, Physics or real life performance comparison (non csp is usually far too quick).

Cant say the same thing of the FH23 in that case, can feel perfectly when im loosing grip at any speed almost. 3D model is far better than the FA22, but maybe still needs to smooth some parts of the car that look rough. But still, 100% this is good step up from the FA22, interesting to see competition.

    "however I will bring up a slight point that his car is by far the most stable and planted on the grid" Wellllll, it's actually NOT! Hence why Max is so dominant over his teammates. It's common knowledge that Max likes the car very front heavy, as in very pointy. So to drive that car on the limit and extract 100% out of it without losing it and sliding around wasting time is exactly what puts Max in the GOAT conversation already. He is able to extract the maximum potential out of the car while his teammate is overdriving, spinning and crashing. So with all due respect when Max says the RSS is too pointy and loose compared to his car means that imo the VRC boys have taken the common simracer view that this is Formula 1 and these cars are "meant" to be hard to drive. They're "meant" to be loose. They can't possibly be "this" glued to the ground etc etc. I mean sure they seem to be "easy" to drive fast but the real talent is shown when you are pushing it on the limit and maximising the areo and maximising the tyres to find the last few tenths. A lot of people don't realise or underestimate the enormous effect of the "ground effects" of these cars, literally sucking them onto the tarmac with those super sticky hot tyres. Anyway, just my 2cents worth and i'm excited to try them both out with all the new recent hype around AC.
    On a side note. I hope LFM can put on a series where you can bring either one of these MODS to have a real head to head. That will be really cool. Especially where one or the other car could have a track specific advantage over the other just like it happens irl. Thanks for the video 👍
