Euronews made a title mistake. India was Russia's ally for decades because the US refused military support for India and instead sold jets and arms to India's rotten rival Pakistan. So India went for Russian arms. What then did the US get in return ? The rise of Pakistan-supported Taliban Islamic extremists ! Then in August 2022, the US withdrew from Afghanistan due to military loss, poor local support, hostile politics back home, etc. The made a huge mistake leaving behind a huge US$80 billion cache worth of arms, equipment, uniforms, some helicopters, etc.

Russia is not a historic or current ally of India. India doesn't ally with any country. The relationship of india and Russia is of a strategic partner. Moreover, being a partner, Russia is India's friend due to its consistent support. Stop spreading false news.

Ukraine needs to supply more defence related parts and other industrial supplies to India, before it needs to even think of upgrading ties. Ukrainian wheat 🌾 & agriculture exports also need an huge fillup in Indian markets before any further steps are being thought of
So, one gains India's favour by supplying weapons to it. Understood. I suppose Russia has fallen out of India's favour because Russia can't supply any. Its arms exports have imploded, and whatever it has supplied, is doing poorly in Ukraine.
