FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina spends her time cooking, gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera?
Her retired son-in-law films, her daughter helps her prep, and she usually has one or two grandkids in the kitchen.
Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video!

Everytime I comment it is about Signora Gina but this time, it is for the family - from the "retired son-in-law" who does the filming to the daughters and grandkids helping with the filming and prepping and tidying up !!

Oh this would be amazing
You do it.
I remember helping to make this when our family was renting an apartment from an Italian Family & they took me under their wing & included me in all of the festivities. The food was never ending & the fun never stopped for me. I owe my cooking skills & love of gardening to the Ferraro Family of Los Angeles! Thank You, wherever you are! We moved & I never saw them again.

I love her, so very sweet. Reminds me of my grandmother. I never knew my grandparents, but she reminds me of a perfect grandmother. So very kind, sharing stories, and cooking. Keep sharing because this is very precious and simply beautiful.
Mamma Gina, mi hai dato la sicurezza di preparare deliziosi piatti italiani. Vengo dall'America ma amo la cultura, la gente e il cibo italiano. Ti amo, vivi a lungo e felice.
Meravigliosa ❤️❤️
Gina, your energy is incredible. My goodness! Thank you for giving us your beautiful program. We look forward to each and every episode.
Ahhh Gina....I just love you and your stories! I love these Easter biscotti. They sure broke the mould when they made beautiful Italian nonna’s like you!!!! My nonna was the same, and I miss her sooo much. Everything I am today is because of beautiful souls like my nonna and nonna’s like you Gina! Keep singing Gina, I wish I could hug you...
Thank you. God Bless!
Nonna Gina, I just made these this morning. They are soooo good! My great-grandmother used to make these especially for me because I loved them so much. I haven't had one in almost 40 years. Making (and eating!) them made me so happy! Thank you so much, and God bless you.
I love your story's about your family it brings me such happiness listening to you 🌹❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️💁🏻
When she sings I just feel a sense of ease ..Portuguese is very like Italian wow ...She looks like my relatives its unbelievable

I'm not sure what I love most about your videos most:
the delicious recipes, the wonderful stories, or your beautiful singing!
You have such a beautiful spirit which is why you sing. That much beauty has to go somewhere so it's natural it would be reflected by your beautiful singing. ❤ Buona sera, Gina!! 🌙
Love you Gina! As always your video was informative and entertaining! Please keep them coming, you have plenty of fans! ❤️
Thank you for another beautiful video! My mother used to make the same taralli but with white wine instead of anisette and now my sisters and I try to carry on the tradition. Watching you is like watching my mother. Auguri di Buona Pasqua a te e tutti la tua famiglia! Baci da Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Buona Pasqua a tutti!
Hello Gina! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes with us. I could watch you all day. And trust me, I have. It is so important to keep traditions alive by sharing our knowledge with future generations.
Mama you do cooking proud! I love it! Your love shines through!
Besides her obvious cooking skills, she has a way of communicating with the viewer that allows you to learn from her and feel warm and nostalgic at the same time. Bravissima, Signora!
I really enjoy your videos. I love hearing you talk, it reminds me of many members of my family who are no longer with us. Many of your recipes are like the ones my mom, aunts and dad used to make. I wish I would have video taped my mom when she was cooking. Your videos will be a treasure for your family and are a treasure for mine.
Thankyou so much for bringing traditions , like your singing that your own grandmother sang to you , and your stories about your family are priceless , Love you too bits Gina ! xoxoxo
I watch this with a huge smile.
♡♡♡ I love you, Gina ♡♡♡
You made my eyes tear up too, when you were mixing your beautiful Taralli dough....talking about your Mother, your Grandmother..... (I can barely type this, my tears fall for you and the love you show).....God has blessed you because of the love you show...you treat people like Jesus treated people, that's all he asks of us, "Do unto others..." And you do. It shows. That's why you're happy, that's why you sing, your heart shows your happiness, that's why I love you. I want to be like you but when I bake and cook (at my job) no one says "thank you" - no one commented on the Cuccidati (St. Joseph's cookies) I made for them. I get hurt, I leave there crying....I work so hard to prepare nice meals and wonderful baked goods for them but they don't appreciate it. Do your hands and fingers ache? Do they keep you up at night from so much work? Kneading that dough we do has killed my hands. God bless my hard working Italian friend, Gina - my grandma Filomena's twin sister! Lighting the big blue candle for you in the Monastery. You're adored!
♡♡♡ I love you ♡♡♡
I will pray for your good health and for those around you to show you some kindness and love. God Bless!
I love watching and people don’t realize the warmth of your hands play a big part of the success in making all types of dough it never comes out the same when using my dough hook!😊

Grandma Gina, you have been missed !!!
She’s simply Divine 💐
This makes me remember my Friday nights with my mum. We would make taralli and biscotti to last for the week whilst dad went to play cards. I would eat the taralli once they were boiled until I had a stomach ache. I miss those days.
Love watching Gina. She makes me smile and makes me tear up too when I see her getting a bit emotional about her family and how things used to be. Love the family photo as well!

Gina we love your stories of your life, sweet personality & delicious recipes from the homeland thank you 💗
Gina I love you thank you for sharing this delicious recipe and your stories god bless you
Love the stories of family and your singing. It relaxes me so much. Beautiful dough. Lots of kneading. Good for our arms.
Love her singing and recipes 💞
Your in GREAT shape, how many women your age can sing and knead dough and not get short winded. My mother also used to bless her cookies when she baked. We used to make individual easter cookie dough wrapped around died Easter eggs, some were shaped like birds or little baskets .my mom was siciliano and I’m the only one fo three girls who learned all the Sicilian cookie and pastries and I have thought my sons these traditional recipes. TFS, LOVE your stories
She hears the voice of her mother so sweet . She hears the voice of angels.
Oh Signora Gina, I have looking for this Tarralli recipe for 13 years. You make them just like my mother who passed away. My brother and nieces will be sooooo happy this Easter. Thanks to you Cara. I hope mine will turn out as good as yours. Thank you from Canada.
You have a treasure in Gina. Thank you for these videos.
I've never sen anything made like this! Fascinating! To give you a grin, my ederly cat sits on my lap and when you sing, her eyes close and she smiles. So do I.
Ms. Gina, I really enjoy watching your show. I am not of Italian decent but of Mexican decent. My grandmother was from Mexico and she would often tell me stories of when she was growing up while she was cooking and making her home made
tortillas. You bring me so much joy and happiness when I hear you singing. My grandma would also sing like you but in spanish. Please keep on being as lovely and beautiful as you are. Thank you for just being you. Love from me and all my family.
Grazie, signora Nonna Gina, cantate sempre e Dio vi benedica! Quanto vi voglio bene! Domenica xox
Thank you for sharing the family picture at the end. Alla famiglia! :-)

I just love Gina! She is so much like my Grandma.
Thanks for sharing the precious experience of beautiful Gina. My love and respect from Syria.
Nonna I love watching you...thank you for sharing all the beautiful things ❤
thank you for sharing your recipes and process. You make many of the same recipes as my mother and grandmother, but you make it look much easier than they did when they were trying to teach us. Your vids inspire many people to try to make favorites--without the fear of messing them up. You are a great teacher!
Thank you Mrs.Gina so very much.
I love watching Gina she is a sweetheart I always think of my dad he talked the way Gina does and it brings back beautiful memories of growing up, me and my Dad would always cook together. Thank you for what you do.🥰💕💝😊🤗
I just watched this recipe and I will definitely bake these Easter taralli the way you showed us. Thank you for being such a happy lady because you are teaching us to cook and bake happy and with love. Thank You for sharing the beautiful picture of your lovely family!

I love it when Nonni Gina sings! Her soul is BRIGHT! Oh my heart!
GOD BLESS HER! Do these taste like sweet bagels?
Love,
Washington State
P.S. What a beautiful photo at the end! Thank you for sharing her life with us!
They are crunchy on the outside a little soft on the inside with just a hint of sweetness before covering with the icing. I prefer them without the icing. Thank you for watching, God Bless and Happy Easter!
Missed you Mamma Gina....yummy...going to watch this now....
Wow that was so much work Gina! I love the patience you have kneading the dough for 20 minutes. No wonder they cost so much in a bakery but they’re never as good as homemade. My grandma used to talk to us like you; half Italian half English! You make me smile and it brings back so many great memories with her. Thank you for another great video and of course, we love you!! 💕💕💕⭕️❌⭕️❌
This kind of cooking and baking is just pure love! Thank you for sharing your recipes with us!
Missed you! Glad to see a new video!
Nonna Gina Petitti.
We live in Cleveland Ohio where resides a very large Italian community including from Faeto. My wife told me to write letting you know how much she enjoys your presentations. Even though she is a great cook herself, she enjoys to learn more and we all appreciate your songs especially the original religious. How beautiful is starting your work with the sign of Cross!! My wife enjoyed very much la canzone della ginestra, instead I liked what you sang in the episode: Stuffed Peppers. It' all good! Thanks to the person who had the splendid idea in recording these wonderful episodes. You are an entertainer as well. Dio ti benedica. Angelina & Joe DeFranco
Angelina and Joe, I am so happy to hear you enjoy the videos. I have received comments and letters from many members of the Cleveland community. Many had grandparents and great grandparents who were born in Faeto. God Bless you both and stay safe.
