Great video! We used this on our furniture to clean up behind our dogs, ended up posting a video to show how dirty the water was. Really impressed with this unit so far.
This machine is so easy to use and its very effective at cleaning carpet. I love the way it comes apart which makes it easy to clean afterwards. Highly recommend !
I purchased the Bissell a couple of days ago because of this review and was astonished at the results. Ive had my carpet professionally cleaned and have been told that the heavy traffic stain just canât come out. Omg!! My carpet looks amazing after using this!!
Great to hear!
Based partly on this video and the head to head video with this cleaner against the Rug Doctor Wide Path, Big Green Machine, Kirby and Hoover, I went out and bought this machine today. I'm very pleased with the way it performs. Our dog tried to eat a poinsettia and has been vomiting on the carpet. Our old Bissell (don't know which model, but one of the cheap ones) just wasn't cutting it. This baby cleaned up the stains nicely, much quicker than the old machine did.
I really like the way they clean and dirty water tanks work on this machine, and they fixed my biggest gripes with the old one: After emptying the tank, it was still full of hair and debris that you just couldn't rinse out, as it was very poorly designed. There was always hair and debris in the suction nozzle as well, and GOOD LUCK trying to clean the brush or change the belt.
The dirty water tank on this model does not trap dirt and debris, and you can remove the "float valve" mechanism to clean it (and get a sprayer inside the tank to rinse it and get the dirty water out). The removable nozzle and the plate that covers the roller brushes make cleanup there a piece of cake, and they include a tool to fish the hair and debris out of the nozzle. I can clean the machine nicely after using it, and I won't feel like I'm getting out a filthy machine the next time.
And the amount of pet hair it pulled out of the carpet was just stunning! We just bought and moved into this house three months ago and the carpet is new. The machine pulled huge wads of pet hair out (need to go out and buy one of those Shark power liftaways next). But the hair didn't get all wrapped around the brushes! I need not fear burning out a belt that can't be replaced on this machine!
Cool! Thanks for the info!
Strongbow Well, between the video review and this posting, I'm going to go ahead and buy one of these!
Thanks for the information!
Strongbow: there are replacement belts available. One type for the roller brushes, another for pump. Link; www.bissell.com/proheat-2x-revolution-pet-pro-belt-bundle-b0058
Yes I do my mattress from time to to time.
I've had my Bissell Pro Heat 2x for a little over a year and I can say that it's everything I wanted in a carpet shampooer. We have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and light beige wall-to-wall carpet. This cleaner has worked miracles on my floors lol. I keep cleaning solution in the tank, ready to go any time, because I use it so much. Any little dirty spot or tracked in dirt or spills or pet accident is cleaned up thoroughly and quickly. I seriously cannot say enough good things about this machine!
Hi. Does it pick up hair well?
O
Recently bought one its was great, no more renting the big green carpet cleaner, this thing works a million times better my carpet looks new
One issue Amazon reviewers bring up with this unit is the fact that the brush roll doesn't turn off when using the hose. That seems worth mentioning as you could inadvertently ruin your carpet when cleaning furniture.
Thank you as I came here to ask that question. This is a feature that is VERY important and it's unfortunate that I have only found 2 machines that offer it!
Hi when you put the hose on the rolllers lift up so they don't touch the carpet.
@@crp110 would've been better to disengage them altogether but I guess that'll work. Just feels like a waste of power.
@@crp110 Thanks! I had hoped so as that is the way my vacuum cleaner works, too. Thanks again.
What about setting the machine on the plastic cleaning tray it comes with while using the attachment so itâs not on the carpet?
I donât have one but I have the bissell crosswave for our floors and I love it
Just got one and very impressed with it đđ»
I bought one for small stains and spills for each of our state contract buildings. It works ok, however the tank capacitys make it a real pain to use on all but single cubicle areas. The recovery tank shuts down the vaccum at about half full, or about half to 2/3ds of a gallon. That means constant filling, dumping, refilling for even small areas like in front of doors during wet muddy weather or cleanups after office parties. I can't imagine trying to clean even a 10'Ă12' residential room. You would have to refill and dump probably a half dozen times or more for all but the lightest soiling. On the plus side, it's very good at extracting the solution back, and the brushes help it do a better than average job on removing dirt and etc.
I bought mine from Qvc and it came with all the attachments. I have used it many times and have absolutely nothing bad to say, love it!!!
Still liking it?
I carpet clean several times a year due to allergies, pets, dirt roads and a construction worker, and have an 8-year-old, commercial-grade Rug Doctor, which I have a love-hate relationship with. I recently bought this Bissell about two months ago for "light or quick" cleaning jobs, namely to avoid dragging the Rug Doctor upstairs anytime there was an accident and for our couch, but figured it wouldn't stack up to the Doctor or Green (admittedly better than the Doc). I absolutely love the Bissell and will probably be giving away or donating away the Rug Doctor at this rate, which I haven't brought out for use nor felt need to, once I'm over ditching the amount I paid for it lol.
What I love the most about this Bissell is how easy it is to maneuver, which, as he said, truly is like using a very maneuverable upright vacuum. I also love how well it works -- especially the suction, which really does speed up dry time and helps you to avoid oversaturating. Honestly, the suction on this unit is pretty (and surprisingly) beastly.
Being able to use the machine in both forward and backwards passes, which speeds up cleaning/rinsing, is handy, as well as being able to see what I'm sucking up, letting me see how much soap still needs to be sucked out. I always do a few rinse passes with just water after using soap, followed up with dry passes, which this is really great for and my carpets are usually completely dry (and far cleaner) in a quarter time of the big guys.
What I don't like is their soap ratio; they recommend way too much soap for the amount of water. Given how much deep clean mode spews out, you'll either have residue buildup that will also attract dirt and mat the fibers, or you'll have to repeatedly rinse, which can lead to oversaturating. Maybe that's intentional so you'll use/buy their solution more often lol.
So definitely use way, way less soap than they tell you to (you honestly don't need that much; itxs overkill), and I recommend doing no more than one or two passes while holding the actual trigger and while using soap (vs vacuum style). I also feel that I prefer the Rug Doctor soap more to Bissell's antibacterial and other type with the oxy stuff, so I'll be switching back to that. I do like the suction and head on the hose part of the Rug Doctor a little more, but I do appreciate having way more hose length and a far lighter machine, especially on stairs.
Other than that, getting fur or hair out of the base is a little annoying, but that's a given with most units and is solved well enough with the tool they give you -- err, when you don't lose it, anyway lol. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to clean the bins, which you'll have you do fairly often, but so be it. It's still faster, more efficient, and far less tiring. Yay.
I never thought about doing a water rinse clean. Didn't think it was necessary with carpet cleaning solutions.
So helpfull, thank you so much!
Great review! That bissell looks nice, even hoover is moving to the 2 brushes and away from spinscrub in the smartwash +.
Yeah, I was checking one out online, they look super cool.
I picked up a Bissell cleaner from Costco for $199 the other day. It's the 2007F version, which is basically the same unit only a different color scheme and didn't include the 2-in-1 Pet Tool. Mine also included a tray to set the cleaner in, to wash off the brushes easily. I contacted Bissell about this version not including that pet tool, when the cleaner's box clearly advertises it as a Pet deluxe carpet cleaner, which seems odd it wouldn't have this tool. So they are sending me the tool for free.
Cool, thats a great price!
Apparently it was $149 a few months ago at some Costco's.
Thank you for your video it was short yet very detail đ
It has been used several times and loved.
I thought this was a cleaner from 1986, was very confused đđđđ
Lol yeah that would have been a true "revolution" in carpet cleaners. yeah its just a model designation.
We're is the soap
me too

We got one of these cleaners a few months ago and it has been absolutely amazing. Our biggest regret is not getting one sooner
Glad you are happy with it!
Alright I'm sold. I only had my reservations because I had cheaper end Bissell cleaner for 7 years which the plastic cap for the soap dispenser broke recently. So I was looking for a vintage style cleaner with all aluminum parts like my Royal Vacuum but I couldn't find one. You should review the Royal Vacuum one day.
just got this model refurbed from Bissell's ebay store for $100. amazing deal!
Bighaus do you have a link I can get?? Also whatâs the model number? I see a black red one? Itâs model 2007g?? Thanks in advance.
I have to say your right on. I. Had a few different kinds but my fav is the bissrll pet pro 2 revolution and befor that the bissell pet pro . This one is def. so much easier to clean and care for. Having 3 dogs, triplets and all their friends I LOVE this machine. Its easy to use only draw back is multiple fill ups and emptying. Other then that i would never use snother brand. Took pics of steps that i did they were filthiest rugs i ever seen and they look like new now,
I agree, the main negative is the smallish water basin but other than that its amazing!
That's my only complaint with my new one as well. I imagine in the future I won't need to go through as many tanks, as I'll be cleaning smaller areas, but I cleaned almost the entire living room floor this evening and had to empty and refill about five times. Still much better than my old (cheap) Bissell.
Is it still holding up 2 years later?
Can This model work on hard floor?
Since the water tank to fill is taller, you can just fill it with the facet in the bath tub if you have a bath. That's what I always do not with my current cleaner.

I got the Pro heat 2x Revolution pet, instead of the pet pro, it is about $70 less and it did a great job. We were considering getting the Hoover power dash pet compact, but at the store it was clear that the Bissell would be better for our gross carpet. I'd like to see a comparison of this one and the Regular heat pro 2x Revolution pet.
2 years late but I think they are literally the same. Just the pet pro has the clean shot thing and a different attachment thats not better for the job than what comes with the normal pet one.
Never used a carpet cleaner until this one. Bought it used for $60 and just cleaned about 1000 square feet in two gallons worth of water/solution. The house smells great and I'd say so far it has paid for itself vs renting a rug doctor. Does the channel owner have a recommended home made mix? Obviously the expensive ones work well.
Great video very helpful... Question -Whats the difference betweenn1986 & the 2283 model? Only difference I can find is all the extra hand tools & floor tray for storage. Thanks in advance
Excellent channel. I subscribed. đđ
Curious, how is the hose attachment suction on Revolution compared to the cleanspot portable?
honestly, they took their GOAT carpet cleaner (being the turboclean powerbrush) and upscaled it, added a brush roll, and got this.
Is there a consumer carpet cleaner that works decent with berber carpeting? Thank you for the solid content.
Does anyone know how the hose attachment performs?
Do u have to register the product to get the 5 year warranty? I'm thinking of getting it on hsn
I wonder how the Vax Platinum Power Max compares
You should really snag a zipper wand vacuum and do a review on that. Would love to see an indepth review on it.
Just got mine from Splake Mitzen at a great price a few days back and it works well for me
I just bought when I used why not shucking water can you tell me please
I have used this model Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Number 1986, several times, am very happy with it but still learning. For one thing the attachments come with 2 floor/carpet scrub attachments, one is small and red bristles, the other is much larger with green bristles has a switch to DRY/WET modes also has some sort of "holding tank?" What is the purpose of this tank? I've used it fror carpet spots and for upholstery. I vacuum first on the DRY, then switch to WET selection. The wet spray sprayer release (squeeze to spray) is really hard too pull or squeeze the trigger. I have forearms like Popeye, and it takes some doing to get solution to come out and spray onto area being treated. . Why?
It's is all hooked up correctly, unless there is some secret or shortcut I am missing. However, I did read directions.
Also in the name of your product it says "proheat". Is the water/solution being heated, or the air that is drawing the solution (vacuumed) being heated?
Can this be used as a vacuum? I would hate to do vacuuming then carpet cleaning. Would be great if this can do both?
Do you know how this unit compares to the 1548 model? The 1548 is on Amazon for $167 right now, and I would really appreciate your opinion of whether the 1986 is worth the extra $100. Thanks!
Does it heat the water? If so how warm does it get?
Can you please do a shootout between this model and the Bissell DeepClean ProHeat 2X Professional Pet (the predecessor to this)???
Yep, my mother was gracious enough to buy this from HSN a few months back... Glad I finally warmed up to using it...does great most everyplace I do the cleaning at. Certainly don't see myself jumping through hoops renting from Bissell or Rug Doctor anytime soon... In fact, would the cleaning solutions from Bissell for their big rentals also work with this as well? I was kind of hesitant to buy a bottle of their solution from the grocery store today, because I thought they'd pressure me into renting the cleaner along with it.
Sound like social anxiety to me lol I doubt they would force you to rent anything lol. They might ask if you want to but that's them trying to have some kind of good customer service lol
How hot of water can I put in the reservior?
My biggest question is can you use this as a regular vacuum before deep cleaning the carpet? If so please show how!
Anyone know what type of carpet he's trying this on?
I really appreciate your reviews! It gives me much more confidence when purchasing a carpet cleaner. Do you have to use a specific type of cleaner for this device? Or can you use the carpet cleaning shampoo of your preference? Thank you!
Im sure Bissell recommends only using their stuff, and I suppose there are limitations, no corrosive stuff etc. but Im sure there are tutorial online about it. If not let me know and Ill research it and make one!
Bissell recommends that you use their cleaner only (of course) but I've used different brands in mine and it was fine. I even use a little Tide with a splash of bleach (we have light beige carpet) most of the time and I've never had an issue. (Not recommending that you do that with yours, just saying what I do with mine)
I use a lemon based floor soap. Same as I use to make mop water. It actually works way better than the bissell products in my experience.
Great video Chris as always!!! I have this machine and it is phenomenal!! You won't be disappointed!! I have 2 Jack Russell terriers and one is still in puppy mode!!!! Lol This is a total game changer and so easy to use and clean after use!! Simply amazing all around.
Awesome info! Thanks for posting!
Does the hose attachment perform well too?
Hi can I use this on hard floors ? Thanks
Did you test the suction level? I'm wondering how it compares to others. It seems surprisingly low to me
Does it work on hardwood floors?
Hi, I really liked your review of the model 1986. Now could you do a comparison video between the model 1986 and model 22837?
How do you know when you need new belts? My machine is not sucking up the water,
Glad you like the bissell so much. i might have to try it myself, though i need another carpet / floor cleaning tool like a need a second head. Does that small attachment with the hose clean as well as their stain remover 'thingy' you reviewed recently. I have that on another wet/dry machine and its as close as I can get to a professional carpet cleaning for pet stains.
Yeah, I think those basic design hand attachments are pretty much the same across the board since the cleaning ability is just based on how much you scrub. So the only concerns are hose length, quality of shampoo etc.
Does this clean rugs too?
Does this modlr carries a self cleaning function?
could you test the Bissel lift-off carpet cleaner please i'm dying to know how it performs
I bought one and itâs crap. Leaves the carpet very wet and doesnât get much dirt out
How easy is it to clean it?
I have one of these without the foot sprayer. My main complaint is that there's no way to turn the brush roll off when using the tools and that it likes to drip water from every crack in the bottom for quite a while after finishing up. Aside from that, it's definitely very easy to use for a shampooer.
Thanks for this. I think you are right. I didnt notice it at first but looking back at the original footage I can see that it was spinning. I dont see any way to turn them off. though the water wont spray unless you press the trigger.
The brushes spinning while using the hose tools isn't an issue, because they are moved off the carpet with the handle in the up locked position. And they drop down on the carpet when the handle is lowered to use the cleaner.
Compare winner with vax which has a roll brush and a line of spin scrub brushes so it has two different cleansing brushes
Ill check into the Vax, thanks!
Does it heat or steam clean?
How does the 1986 version compare to the older 1548 version?
I cant find this carpet cleaner even on amazon or the actual website
Does the dirty water tank come apart so you can clean it?
Sold! Just ordered one off Amazon lol đ€Łđ€©đž
Now that itâs been 2 years how do you like it and would you recommend it?
how is it holding up?
How much water can the waste tank hold?
I have had this for awhile and my main problem with it is that it doesn't rinse cleanly. This to me is the #1 most important item in a carpet cleaner lest your rug/carpet turn into a dirt magnet after use. I had to run over my area rug 6 times with pure water. This actually didn't even take all the soap out, but I just gave up after that. I used the provided product and recommend dilutions. I believe there are some cleaners with a separate rinse water tank. I would think something like that would be more helpful in removing solution from the carpet/rug.
amy.... amy amy amy... The answer to your problem was staring you in the face the whole time. So you put down so much soap that it took 6 rinse cycles to extract it all back from the carpet?
Well.. did you ever think about simply using less soap in the first place then? Just dilute it more... Sheesh.. You don't have to use the full amount they suggest you to use. That's more so to get you to use more formula faster so you go out and buy more from them for their ongoing revenue stream, not for your benefit.
@@abowden5079 You're preaching to the choir. Rinsing cleanly is #1. I don't actually remember the genesis of this comment was since it was two years ago. Most of the time, I use hypochlorous acid that I make myself, not soap at all, for this reason. But it's still good to be able to use some soap. But if the soap is enough to be effective at lifting dirt, it's going to be effective enough to attract dirt back to the carpet. You'll never get it out 100% and that's why going over again with pure water is necessary. With this machine, you have to fill it again with soap-less water. Other machines don't make you do it twice.
@@amythinks amy... amy amy amy... the machine has one if if not the highest suction power of them all and the fastest spinning most powerful stiff bristle brushes too.
So other than the amount of soap you're choosing to put down in the first place, why exactly do you think its the machines fault that you have to rinse so much soap out of the carpet?
Because if you do it right, the carpet is no wetter after a clean compared to other machines, so its able to suck up the moisture just as good if not better than Ny other cleaner.
Think about that for a second, the ONLY variable that might make what you're saying true is the amount of soap youre diluting into the water and the type of cleaning formula too. You dont have to use bissells cleaning formula and you dont have to use as much as they suggest... thats got nothing to do with the machine.
Also. No matter what machine you have, a hot rinse wash after carpet cleaning is ALWAYS required to get the remnant soap out of the carpet.
If you think other machines are somehow soaking carpet in soapy water and getting the soap out of the carpet with simple suction and no rinsing then youre delusional
â@@abowden5079 You're missing a very important distinction. I let the condescending tone go once, but at this point, I'm starting to think you're kind of rude. Moving on.
I have one question, what is the average drying time after using this on regular carpet??? Just a rough estimate?
5 hours on deep clean 1 hour on express clean.
Can you compare the bissell 1548 to the 1986?
Yeah great! Very great!
Please review the new Hoover SmartWash
These reviews are totally awesome but that's the one I have my eye on right now
Thank you!
I'll do it for you. The Smartwash isn't heavy enough to correctly clean, heavy is cumbersome, but it's what you want with a carpet cleaner. Also it's touted specialty is mixing the soap for you, but nearly every mid level model has that function now. It's a play on marketing the word smart and has a sleek design to give the impression it's better than it is.
Since Hoover was bought by Maytag, all their products are cheap crap that will work well for the first couple uses, but will never last unless you religiously clean them, and even then you will be replacing belts and seals constantly. Hoover used to be made to work on and repair, built to last, but now they want to be just cheap enough that you decide to buy another instead of repairing it. I've had the Power Scrub back when they were good, but their newer products are gimmicky, cheaply made crap.
Bissell makes better products than Hoover now, and this ProHeat model is good, but the smaller tank will have you refilling and emptying 3 times as much as a Bissell Big Green.
Overall if you are spot treating and really only want to get the mid to top lair of fibers the ProHeat is perfect for that use. IF you actually want to deep clean the carpets and not spend half your time carrying dirty ass water around your house, just spend the extra $150 and get the Big Green. They are almost always on sale somewhere for $400 or less. There's a reason the resell market for the Big green is huge, and stores keep models for years and rent them out. Rug Doctor is great too, but no detachable refill tank and single direction cleaning stops me from liking them.
Hope it helped.
FYI I did some research and found Bissell makes two models that are less money but essentially the same machine minus the spot spray, handheld attachments, and the ability to pop the cover off the brushes to clean them.
Yeah - those little differences can be hard to sort out, but it really does matter.
Need those attachments!!!đ
@@1940sGal I thought I really wanted those attachments too until I saw the price difference was around 100 bucks
Im torn between this and a bissell spot clean pro because Iâll mostly be using it for vehicle upholstery and furniture. I only have 2 carpet rooms in my house in low traffic areas. I donât want to trade off upholstery cleaning power for the ability to clean carpet, but it would be nice to be able to clean carpet if necessary if this does just as good as the spot clean for upholstery. Which would you recommend?
In case he doesn't respond, it would be difficult to recommend this product in your situation. If you're main use will be upholstery and small areas then I would go with the spot cleaner.
I base this recommendation again on your stated use, cost and weight on the vaccum, and for the main issue I have experienced with this cleaner, the attachment tools.
The attachments themselves are extremely effective; however, the issue (at least for me) is the continued spinning of the main vaccum rollers when using them. If you are using the attachments in a carpeted area, it is very possible to damage the spot where the vaccum is resting.
This product is fantastic, but I feel the spot cleaner is the best tool for your situation.
I can not seem to find an EU seller. Is there any link/seller ? (Shipping to Greece)
I just bought this and water never comes out of it and the annoying thing is when you use the attachments the roller is still on which sucks
Had Issues with this model.. burning smell Every time I turned it on believe it to be the belt. Uses A Lot more water and randomly it seemed even on the expressed mode. The Hose kept leaking at the connection. Did I buy a lemon or are these just issues with this model?
I have one, my only gripe is that it doesn't have a hair filter, or any filter in the dirty water tank
Can you use this on an area rug that is on top of hardwood floor? Would it cause damage to the wood floor?
If I remember the promotional material you can do that. I know you can with the Bissell Crosswave.
So I'm guessing this is the one to buy? Thinking about picking up this weekend. Worth the high price? Or will the $250 ones do similar?
So worth it! Best and easiest cleaner.
I just bought the bissell proheat 2x revolution pet pro deluxe 2007, Does he have a video on that bissell??
Niecey Nichole heh there. Did you ever find out if thatâs the same model or something newer? Thanks
Do you think this could be used on a longer shag rug? (About 1-2 inch)
Nah, this would rip too many fibers out on shag rug. You want to use a broom with a solution just to message it in, let it dry, then beat the devil out of it outside. I've been told people like to turn it over and vacuum and clean the bottom, but I've never messed with it.
Why not provide review of the vax platinum?
Just bought mine tonight since my hoover powerscrub died after 6 years.
Love the Power on this thing!
Hope it lasts!
Is the clean water tank on the top supposed to come on and off so easily? I just got this model based on your review and im a little concerned that my clean water tank is not "clicking" into place. It seems to just set on top and come on and off quite easy. Does this seem right compared to yours?
Did you get it figured out?
Great video. Iâm sold.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@VacuumWars it arrived today and Iâve already tested on some spots from my lab puppy. It really exceeded my expectations.
Great job Bissell. đđ
I bought this product because of your channel! Otherwise how can I find the exactly what do I want ? Thank you đ
I have one of these, I bought it on sale for 200 from Walmart. So far I've used it once, but I don't like the trigger. It's not much control. I had trouble getting the machine to spray without vacuuming. I wish the machine had 2 switches, one for spraying, and one for vacuuming - that way I could do neither and just agitate the (wet) carpet. My solution will likely be to use a manual sprayer, let it work for 20 mins, and just use the machine to vacuum it up. It agitates with the brushes while vacuuming.
I am new to carpet cleaning but this is my understanding: Spray, agitate, and extract. Then use a steam cleaner on tough stains (?)
You know about the quantum x water vacuum right? Cause if you do then can you do a challenge between the bissell pro heat 2x rev. AMD the Quantum x
WHY DID I PUT AMD? I DUNNO
Is there anyway to adjust it to clean tiles?
It's not designed for that - just carpets. I'm making a new floor washer video for next week that may help you out. You can also check the floor washer playlist in the meantime: czcams.com/video/I8V8oVGcgno/video.html I hope that helps.
How do you go about using the hose tool when the brushes keep running. Prop it up? My carpets are old, and I've cleaned them using this, but haven't used this tool yet. My fear is that I'll destroy them while trying to use the tool.
Kody with a K have you tried taking off the rollers?
@@tonymoreau I actually just bought my machine a week ago. Love it. After first amazing clean, I took the brushes off to clean. Ended up foolishly (my own fault) putting them on upside down. Melted the brush so I ordered a new set. Long story short (god I hate that expression lol) I don't plan to ever again remove my brushes or rollers.
Ive never used a carpet cleaner before. How long do you have to wait before you can walk on the carpet? And does it dry your carpet too? Or just wash it? Thats the part that confuses me. Can someone explain??
it washes it. the carpet will air dry
It will partially dry it. When you run the machine over it without pulling the water trigger, it will suck the water out. It won't make it completely dry but sucks most of it up. Depending on how many "dry" passes you make, it can be quite wet when you're done, or only a bit damp.
I have one complaint about the Bissell, it's that the dirty water container isn't large enough. You'd think it would be able to hold at least the same amount of water that the clean container does. I always have to stop cleaning because the dirty water container float valve shuts off the suction, even though the clean water container is still half full. There was plenty of room on this cleaner for Bissell to have designed in a larger dirty water container.
I didnt notice that or have any issues with it, I suppose that they expect not to have a 100% water pickup rate. Either way I think the size of the water bins, both clean and dirty are small at about 1 gallon, and its the main drawback for this otherwise great model.
I contacted Bissell about this and they said the dirty water tank only holds .4 gallons before the float valve stops the suction. And that the extra space was needed for air flow inside the tank. Seems to me they could have made that tank larger. It's kind of ridiculous to stop cleaning several times, just to empty the dirty tank.
what are the major differences of Pro-Heat pet pro and non Pet-pro? is it just the clean shot? weight?
I think I will do a video about that shortly. right now I would say warranty and attachments and yes no clean shot
OMG! Thank you very much! this probably the quickest reply I had in CZcams!!
- On a Side note, My portable Rug doctor isn't doing well now after just 1yr! and now I am stuck between your #1 choice Bissell Portable Spot pro or this full size upright. I will mainly use it for our Family Van and SUV's... winter is coming! .O_O
Also the regular one doesn't have the easy access to the brushrolls. Where you can remove the top 2 pieces and clean them.
What is the difference between the 1986 and the 1964 ? They seem to be the same. Thanks for any info. Also, I am subbed and really like your channel.
Same but different retailers and colors. 1964 is Walmart and purple.
I heard someone say in a review the brushrolls donât shut off in the upright position, and are just digging into the Carpet, when using the hose attachments. Do you find that to be a problem?
I didnt find it to be a problem, but I suppose you could put the unit on a flat surface like cardboard or something while you use the hose if it was a concern.
Bissell makes a cleaning tray for this machine. it's inexpensive, light and easy to use just sit the machine on its tray and use the tools.
The brushes are moved up off the carpet when the handle is in the upright position, so they don't dig into the carpet. At least that's how my 2007F version works.
@@Resist4 My 2007P, doesn't do that, and warns of it in back of instructions.
@Kewlzter - My instructions say the same thing. Yet clearly, the brushes are moved upward when the handle is up and in the locked position. So I don't see how it could cause damage to the carpet, unless it's a deep shag carpet. I think the instructions are kind of generic, especially considering it covers the 1964, 1986 and 2007 series.
Some people say the head doesn't have a good seal to the carpet and thus leaves water behind and the carpet stays soaked. Have you noticed a problem with this by chance if you can remember? Thanks
It may depend on the kind of carpet? For me it did well picking the water back up.
@@VacuumWars thank you
This video is why I bought mine
I hope it worked well for you.
It works great I love it.
Bought it yesterday as a bundle package and paid $319.00 CDN + tax for it free delivery from Bissel
Hope you enjoy it!
@@VacuumWars We also bought the Shark pet pro lift away after watching your vids.. Expensive month for home cleaning tools. lol

Please test out the Rug Doctor Deep Carpet Cleaner.
I have trested the rug doctor wide track in a recent competition video. It did really well.
How would you say this compares to the Tineco brand carpet cleaners?
We haven't sat down and compared these but we have a good review of the Tineco models here that may help you out: czcams.com/video/LYSScSYcxw4/video.html
@@VacuumWars Iâve been watching tons of reviews, including yours and itâs pretty neck and neck with the Bissell and Tineco. I think the 2 things I donât like about each is, Bissell doesnât have that dry feature and the Tineco has a pretty small water capacity & shorter cord. Other than that, they seem pretty much the same.
I have mixed thoughts about this design after my first time using the non-pro version. WIth my med-hair cat this machine tends to clump and leave clumps of fur all over the carpet. It doesn't make it to the container, and if it does try to get there, it usually gets stuck in front of the machine blocking water suction.
It seems the curved and tapered slot at the front that sucks the water back up is so thin on the inside that it traps carpet fibers and clumped pet hair. Obviously Bissel knowns this is a problem, because they ship the machine with a tool to stick in the slot and clean/move the debris. This was a reasonably bad carpet though and I'm sure that using it frequently would make it less of a problem.
It's doing a nice job beyond that. I don't know if the slot is wider on this pro version or not, but that might help clumps make it though.
I have two big double coated dogs I remove hair from the carpet before using my carpet cleaner
@@roughhdiamond168 With what? After doing another few rooms, it's a bit of a pita. Tried regular vac first, but does very little.
I don't understand how this Bissel even contains "pet" in it's name, "pet pro" is a major stretch.
This vaccum is amazing!
One flaw though...
I bought this per your review. I just used it today on my white shag rug to get cat potty out (#2 if your wondering). It got the spot completely out. Rug went back to white! I'm so impressed.
The problem was, as I was finishing up, the machine sucked up the cord and cut the cord in half causing a very dangerous explosion. The rug burned as well! Bissell is replacing it, so I'm happy. Just watch that cord. The fact that there's water involved here makes it exponentially dangerous if the cord gets cut or the wires get exposed. My cord was completely cut in half.
I hope they fix the problem, this machine is incredible!
Wow! Thanks for the tip. I'm glad it worked out well.
