Why not breed your own mealworms?
It's easy and free!!!
Video 9 of asking for a tank with some freshwater dolphinfish please.
😊
Where was the shrimp this time
People out here in Malaysia putting Arowana in a 2 ft aquarium and you are putting Endlers in a 4 ft. This is how the standards should be. This is what accountable, responsible fishkeeping look like. It looks amazing! Yes, its going to cost more to create this, but absolutely worth it!
They’re more like 4ft-5ft tbh
I just like the small fish to be honest...as you will see in the 8ft 😂
@@MDFishTanks I’m on that train as well, nano fish are my favorite. I don’t really like big fish. My axolotl is my biggest “fish” and it’s not a fish lol
I’m from Malaysia and it’s true
I'm from Malaysia too and I believe people here need to be educated more on this matter
From creating scapes in the old shed to 800k subscribers and a full studio it just goes to show you can follow your dreams if you want to massive respect to MD and fish shop Matt
My 84 yr old dad, who is a lifelong outdoorsman, but couldn't care less about indoor aquariums, was very taken with your hardscaping! He said that's exactly how they drop wood and branches around lake docks to attract crappie fish!
@danielthompson3205 I'm not sure what you mean. My intent is to compliment MD on the accuracy of the environment he created. My dad was impressed and said that's exactly the habitat the Crappy (which are game fish) want to live in. Probably poorly written on my part. Apologies and best wishes.
*update" My fault I can't spell. crappy should have been spelled Crappie, which is a game fish. And of course I don't think there are any crappy (as in bad) fish out there! Sorry again.
This has an old school MD build vibe to it. Always nail this style.
I agree. It has this just classic feel, nothing too crazy but it’s still special and brings everything MD has learned over the years in to this scape in a way. Bravo.
Tanks are looking absolutely stunning MD. Yourself and Matt have taken the studio to the next level.
My adventure in this hobby started because of you, I have 4 different setups and all thriving
❤
Italy
It just occurred to me - MD is the Bob Ross of aquascaping.
Bwahahhaaa, I agree! Bob Ross was a BOSS and so is MD!
For me, this is one of your very best. Stunning tank. And those final few minutes of the video are (as usual) beautifully calming and relaxing. I almost wish those plants won't grow as, proportion-wise with the hardscape and the fish, the planting looks just perfect already!
i bought API leaf zone because of you for my HOUSEPLANTS i dilute it in water and fertilize my plants once a week with it and my plants are thriving
I didn't even think about this! I've also been considering using tank water to feed the plants in the house.
@@sombird8317I recommend! My plants love it and have gotten really lush.
@@sombird8317I use the water that was used to clean the filter sponges.
Since when did MD hit 800k subscribers I remember watching when he had 100k what buzzing for the man
Ikr It's like it happened over night (time warp) MD is getting the viewers he deserves Never Change MD!
How long were you away?😂
@@DashDrones never normally look at subs then was like Pwor he’s gone up loads fair play to the man
Exactly, absolutely amazing@@JaxenLamb01
Wonderful!!! And thank you so much for the long cinematic letting us enjoy it more 🤗
Yeah he should do it more often for sure when doing a full build out like that.
It’s a beautiful tank, MD! I love that river look so much. The Endlers look great in there. Great video, thank you.
Classic MD scape. So happy to see you return to your roots and what we all love. This is a beautiful scape.
Beautiful to see endlers highlighted in such a scape
That stone on the left at 39:38 is giving of creepy skull/face vibes - in a good way
Another beautifully executed scape. Love the little endlers frolicking about. The colors pop under that light too. 🤩
The “OG” paper towel roll is back!!!
What a beautiful tank. So relaxing and natural. I could watch it for a long, long time. I think it’s one of my favorites.
It was nice to watch a video that was just you doing the tank. I enjoy the videos you make with Matt but I also like the quietness when it’s just you.
Love the tank, I think it’s my new fav.
Your decorating commentary reminds me of Bob Ross when he painted. Very soothing.
Thanks for the video. You're like Bob Ross when scaping.
Small fish in big tanks are my favorite aquariums.
That set up was GORGEOUS! I had no idea you could boil leaves to ensure they sink - what a great tip!
the frog face at 19:27 🐸😂💚
This is what I attempted to do in my setup. I'm actually working on it right now, taking a break.Decorative sand next, then my hardscape and a few endlers, snails and shrimp for now. Pool sand for $19.99, 50 pound bag and free rocks from a nearby farmers rock pile (we had permission to forage) the wood was a big expense as well as the plants, lol. I'm happily creating. Like you sayMD, just chuck it in until you're happy with your build, lol.
This might be one of my favorite scapes. Thank you, love the work.
You have an eye for the design of beautiful tanks. Always inspiring. It did just hit me though. You're becoming the Bob Ross of aquarium design. ❤😂
Ok, MD you've outdone yourself this time. This is my favorite tank that you've done and I've been watching your videos for a while now. Nice!
I absolutely love all your builds! As a turtle keeper I would love to see more videos on different tanks for timmy! Aquascaping for turtles is a little bit different than with fish (especially if your turtle eats/uproots most plants) so I would love to see tanks to give me more inspiration for my own setups!
Never any doubts with you M.D. It's a fantastic aquascape and perfect showcase for the endlers. I love the colors. Thanks for sharing your vision with us.
0:22 I really love it it creates such a mesemerising greeny contrast.
I'm sure the fish must enjoy it as well.
I used to have a 4 ft and a 3 ft aquarium. They are both gone but I absolutely love watching you and Matt do aquariums! 🤩
Amazing tank, so natural and really showcases the simplicity of scaping when taking inspiration from nature - really nailed the riverbed style look 👍👍👍
I would pay to see you create a tank with coloured gravel, shipwrecks, and divers. In the worst case it would be a laugh. Could even use some of the same techniques - banking, coloured scatter gravel, hahah
That sounds vile 😂😂
@@MDFishTanks would you do it for a milestone special video? 🙏 (e.g a sub milestone or anniversary)
MD already did one with a pirate ship for his children way back when. It will still be on here;)
This is a classic MD Scape with overloaded plants... Like the scapes from earlier your visit to that US Studio. Very nice.
Beautiful Lovely to see the little Endlers in spacious tanks when they are usually so popular for just Nanos. They look amazing en masse in a good sized setup
Excellent video MD, love seeing you try new fish and now salt water but it's lovely to see something like this going back to your roots with Endler's and Cory's, lovely fish and a great scape, will look forward to an update videon on this tank in the future. 🙂
I love the variety of plants in this aquascape. Just lovely. Happy endlers ecosystem.
Congratulations, we also caught ornamental fish in Brazil, fish from the Amazon, Rio de Janeiro and others
I LOVE api products, they are located right near my house, and i love supporting local businesses
I had some Santa Maria endlers breeding outside last summer in the UK, in a green water tub. Green water really makes endler and guppy colours pop. Mine had a beautiful metallic sheen to them. Have a look at adding green water, there's lots of benefits, especially for the babies. I do the same for my rice fish and CPDs.
Me watching this video… 6 minutes in: MD this scape stinks, what the heck are you doing. 12 minutes in: Okay you’re a frickin genius MD, this looks so good holy crap.
Sending love from USA, MD you rock!
This is my favorite build you’ve ever done!
Just started today's video and was struck by how *great* the studio is looking!
Beautiful Endlers in a beautiful tank!
I would watch this tank all day if it were in my house. So peaceful!
Hi MD! You inspired me to get my first aquarium. I'm 4 weeks in, and I've just got the clean up crew a few days ago. I'm planing to get a group of espei rasboras and a pair of honey gouramies for the center piece fish. Thank you for inspiring us and making these beutiful aquascapes
Magnificent scape!!!
This turned out to be an absolutely stunning tank! Endlers are favorite fish of me and my husband.
I saw you all video. I'am your big fan love from 🇳🇵nepal❤😊
it amazes me how your tanks always look good from the start. Mine usually got heavy bacteria bloom, some algae, plants melt...
That’s a king sized aquarium for those little fellas. Great work
Love that you took up the suggestion from an earlier video where people were asking for a bit of aquarium footage at the end! It's a beautiful tank and I love watching the fish doing their things.
Your latest aquariums have been absolutely stunning! Like every time I watch your videos now, I start thinking "This must be the best he have ever done!", but thinking that about 5-6 aquariums at the same time just makes me realize that you've just found something that makes your standards even higher than before. I love that. And I love the last little part of the videos that just focus on showing the end result of everything. It's so beautiful everything, and I get so much inspiration for my next aquarium that will be here in a week or so! Something like the scape in this video, but with a dark substrate, might be what I'm going for...
Those are some gorgeous guppers; such a far cry from the guppies that were available 35 years ago when I, as a kid, graduated from a goldfish bowl to an actual small guppy tank 😄 All those plants look so very good too; I just ordered a couple mother plants to fill in some open spaces in my main tank - and of course, just as those came in and I wanted to put them into the tank, I noticed my emperor tetras had bred; wouldn't you know, right in the spot where I needed to move some of the old plants to 😆
Give your mealworm a tank. Use oats for substrate and feed them bread and various fruits etc. You can breed your won super easily
Wow, this tank turned out stunning!
Absolutely stunning tank MD. Can imagine how it’ll look in a few months with a bunch of endler babies all over. Awesome!!! 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You are definitely a artist at aquascaping as well as a inspiration. Thanks for being a good teacher!
Like how you mix the sands, I like using rose quartz sand, to me it just looks the most natural. Great looking tank as usual, keep it up!
A very restful and relaxing tank ! I know you do your setups as a finished article, but maybe you could start a small tank and show us an update each week for the first 3 or 4 weeks as to how things grow in etc ??
i've just set up an endler tank too. like two months ago. i've got them + pygmy corys + mosquito rasboras + ember tetras. it's awesome! so much color and so lively. it's half the size of yours though with 250 liters. it's quite probable my favorite tank. i'm setting up another of guppies. i just love these fishes.
Not me waiting for the 8 ft tank everytime I refresh my page , either way enjoying these videos as well.
Beautiful scape😊
I love the long relaxing ending❤
md back to his best...
Awesome tank beautiful just beautiful
The paper towel smack OMG!! It's been so long!!
Might sound ridiculous but I’d be lost with out this channel . I just love the content you make so beautiful peaceful and my dream to do what you do . Just amazing
Gorgeous! I really love the natural river style! You always do an outstanding job with those!
Another great project and good tips. I love the way you end with 4-5 minutes of just enjoying the final look with some perfect music. Maybe you could do a video sometime with just 5 or so minutes on all the tanks to see how the grew out, maybe a quick shot of the initial setup then 5 minutes of how they look now. Great channel as always, thanks...
Inspiring video again after a long time, sometimes I miss your old studio and that style. It's different now.
I wish over the years i have counted how many time you have waked a kitchen roll. Interestingly i struggle with Java fern. Always looking ragged and kinda dyes off. Nice one MD!
Love this page and the tanks. Hope Matt doesn’t leave the shop and the show.
Wow the puffers are growing!
Amazing project! I love how this turned out, MD. Your style of nature aquarium is consistently the best, in my opinion. Keep up the great work.
Really enjoying the cinematics of the finished tank at the end. Thanks MD
Love love love your content MD. You and Matt are my go to for aquarium entertainment.
One thing I don't love was highlighted in this tank - the number of stones and pebbles you use! I know you love it, and I love your enthusiasm ❤️ for me, it just often goes overboard in your designs, I think because the excessive plants sort of clash the look? That's just me though!!
Keep it up! Can't wait for that 8 foot.
absolutely gorgeous!
that is a beautiful looking tank, really top notch
I love this tank. Thanks, MD🥰🌱🐟🌱🐠🌱
Ist wieder echt ein tolles Naturaquarium geworden! 👍
I always fill my canister filter before I start it up. Makes it easier to start up
This might be my favorite river tank
just beautiful
I definitely prefer the understocked nano tank philosophy! I so wish more people were doing their tanks like that
This is just beautiful! ❤❤
As always , another piece of art, so beautiful, well done
Best regards Anders
really like how this one turned out
What a beautiful tank, very inspiring ❤
Lots of good content this week MD! The sand tip you shared is a good one, had a new scape a few weeks ago that looked very plain, and it took adding in a mixture of sand colors to make it pop
I think this tank also needs a billion red cherry shrimp for that extra little crawly bit. A 100 red shrimp walking across the big piece of wood would look amazing.
I loved the ending montage to this video!!
Now this is a beautiful tank ❤two words to describe it absolutely stunning.
This is a beatiful aquascape. You skill level keeps getting higher on your scapes. I realy enjoy you work. Can't wait to see how the 8 foot aqua looks.
Absolutely beautiful scape!
Thank you for the clips at the end!
Actually, depending on the speed of the water movement, sediment in a river bed actually tends to be rather uniform because the faster the movement of the water, the more sediment it contains and grains of a certain weight get left behind. But variation in grain sizes, pebbles and the sort, really make an aquascape look interesting. 🙂
yes, my fluvial geomorphologist co-workers called this "sediment sorting"😊
@@scrubjay93 I got my Earth Sciences degree in Utrecht. I attended lectures by Henk Berendsen who was THE authority on low land genesis and development of river deltas.
Guppies are like puppies, they come to the glass to say hi to you.;))
I understand why Matt is focusing more on his own channel but it is a little bit sad since I think you make the best content together.
The algae infested tank at the start, you mentioned it looked like a mossball :p As quoted from Green Aqua's algae guide (would recommend reading through it, it's very thorough):
Blanked Weed (Cladophora)
Some will blame the moss-ball for spreading the Cladophora infection. The truth is, that the moss-ball is indeed a type of Cladophora, but it is different from the one that causes the Blanket-Weed invasion. The moss-ball is slow-growing, so it can also be easily attacked by algae, that will thrive on the surface of the ball.
The Blanket Weed is a rough, branching algae that looks a like some kind of moss. It will stick hardly in a point and spread from there, so it can be isolated and removed from the middle of your plants. If it contaminates your moss, you will need to trim it down hard. Algae eaters will avoid it. Improving flow and CO2 will help, weaker lighting will push it back relative to the plants. This algae will not spread in air, so you can completely avoid it if you use only lab-grown plants in your aquarium.
