    I could really see the civic as being my next long term car

      Love the Civic apart from fact they have reduced fuel tank capacity to 40L to make room for battery I guess. Means fill ups approx every 400miles so you might be fooled into thinking fuel consumption not good as you doing more trips to the pump lol

    Cheers Jim, some cracking mpg figures on some of them

    Nice review - don't forget the Clio e tech self charging hybrid. I've had one for over two years and it hasn't missed a beat yet. Getting around 67mpg.

    I’m an EV driver normally. Summer 2022 I booked a VWID3 from Bergen Airport for a month but when I arrived the rental company was right out of EV’s to rent so they “upgraded” me to a Toyota Corolla Estate with a self charging hybrid system - over 30 days driving from Bergen to North Cape and back we averaged 70mpg which I thought was impressive even though I would have preferred a full on EV to test out the charging network in Norway.

      Amazing MPG figures on those. The Suzuki Swace is basically the same car too.

    Your videos are always excellent! What are your thoughts on the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV? They seem to very cheap, and i understand Mitsubishi has left UK. Would it still make a good budget hybrid?

      Thanks. Personally I was never a fan of them but there are plenty around at decent money. Take a test drive in one and see what you think.

    Could also explain the battery life cycle in average for each vehicle if thats known. Toyota and Lexus last the life of the vehicle as i heard. also the merc c class hybrids are also a solid case for an opinion.

      It’s 3 days work for me to do a review and I’ve already reviewed the Suzuki Swace which is basically the same car.

    My commute has just become a short 2 miles each way i am past bike riding and living in Scotland weather puts me off even more. I am thinking electric to and from work would be best as starting a petrol or diesel on cold morning's and driving it such a short distance wouldnt be good for the engine so plug in hybrid seams best option for work and trouble free extended range at weekends. Think all electric may be too expensive. Thoughts?

    You missed the Vauxhall Ampera plug-in with an excellent 40 miles of electric range - very cheap, very reliable.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yeah, several not on the list as I didn’t want to make a 3 hr video, decent shout in the Ampera

      I get that, but despite coming out in 2010 it still performs better than all the cars listed. Significantly 40 miles of range enabled me to do a genuine 225 mpg over an 8 year period - a new Prius has only just got that battery only range. It is also very well made - not like a Vauxhall at all.

    I loved 330e. Its such and under rated car. It was far superior to my current model Golf GTE.

    Would dearly love a BMW i8... but kind of put off by the Group 50 insurance. As 350bhp is not that high for such high insurance.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  Před 8 měsíci

      👌insurance groups are not just about power although bare in mind that it's a 4.4 second car. It's also more likely likely to attract thieves than a lot of cars.

    The Yaris Cross is the best choice! Honda Jazz a very strong 2nd choice.

    Are lexus not in the mix a bit? Late model CT200 and IS models on a 21 plate between £15k and £21k depending on mileage? Just saying!
