Pro tip: calatheas ADORE humidity, and also shade. In nature they grow at the base of trees below the canopy where moisture levels are the highest, and I have all 7 of my calatheas within 3 feet of my humidifier. Hope your baby heals ❤

Your plants are gorg! But i did notice you say you didnt know why your calathea was curling, in my experience they are not the biggest fan of direct light, mine would always curl when the sun was the hottest until i moved it away from the window, i hope that helps i love seeing all your babies growing 💕

Love this video l, real life 🤩😍💖! Alocasia just probably is dormant, give it some time 🥰. UGH! SUPER MEALIES! I am having flashbacks from mid January. My friend was on the verge of a hysterical breakdown when she discovered MEALIES and spider mites! She was ready to throw all of her plants away! I went to help. There were mealies and spider mites in so many non plant areas!! Mini blinds, radiators and cache pot baskets. All on her wire plant shelves. AWFUL! I brought trash bags and loaded them up with her blinds and was carrying a beautiful basket that wouldn't fit. I went to her condo's dumpster to dump the trash and was met by a lovely woman who asked if I was moving. I explained the situation. She invited me to her place, full of lush beautiful plants!!!😍😍😍😍. I asked if she used a systemic, she replied no. I watched her quickly mix up enough liquid for two large pump sprayers and she said, "Lead the way!". I brought her to my friend's place. Friend was crying and more bags full for trash. She looked up and saw a stranger (actually her neighbor) and gave me a look of kill and then like wtf!?!? I introduced them to each other and neighbor calmly examined plants and then asked which bathroom was best, it was January in upstate NY, outside wasn't an option. This woman was a total ANGEL! She had on an apron with clippers and rubbing alcohol in the pouch. She took over and proceeded to remove dead leaves and treat the plants. It was basically silent,as my friend was stupified that I entered her home with a stranger and two sprayers. Like where in the hell did you find her!?!? It actually calmed her down 😂🤣😂🤣. Two pump sprayers later, she excused herself and returned. Angel returned with both sprayers refilled. I just kept busy bringing out trash. Angel was done. My friend and I had a ton of questions. She is a long time houseplant lover. We asked when the treatment had to be done again. She couldn't remember the science and reasoning behind each ingredient. She simply said," Go to You Tube and search Liquid dirt pest spray and he explains it all. It seems like a pain in the neck to add several ingredients but, it's completely worth it!". Liquidirt is the most expensive product ( you already have that) and it's just to boost the plant after treatment. It's all child and pet safe. It's been a month and her plants are so happy! Hoya are growing like crazy and aroid leaves are not getting stuck. Happy ending! Planty forever friends were made. 🎉🎉🤩😍🤩😍🤩😍💖💖💖. Sorry for the Sea scroll. Basically.. friend had a meltdown and neighbor saved her plants with Liquid dirt pest spray! 💕😘💗

Hey Fern! I noticed that your alocasia black velvet is starting to grow again! I used to struggle with mine as well, but I noticed that they don’t like to dry out too much! And they love to be fertilized pretty frequently! These are just some of the tips that worked for me!

I love my Pachyclada (I named him 2Pac!!!!) He has sprouted at least 7 leaves since I brought him home in December, and for a hoya, that's HUGE growth. I guarantee yours will do amazingly!!!
Fern, first of all, huge fan here. I watch all your videos and you’ve been a huge influence along my plant journey.
Anyways, have you thought about hanging a mother grow light from the ceiling above the plant wall? It can be attached with command strips so it could be rental friendly. I’m contemplating doing it one in my dining room on the one wall. It’s brick so I think it’ll be a vibe. Just gotta pick a paint color for the brick (it’s painted gray now. 🤢)
Caudata sumatra is my all time favorite hoya bloom! The only thing that really sucks is it's SO short lived 🥺 loving this tour so much, Fern! Definitely makes a Monday better 💚💚💚

Maybe try out to put the calathea in a slightly darker spot (they don’t like direct sun at all) and also they can be really hard to grow when they’re still small. You could try to add other calatheas in one pot, different kinds or the same. That works really well for me. And the curling of the leaves can happen due to too much light, but the leaves of calatheas move so much in general, which makes the plant seem even more alive to me! 😍

Yes living in the PNW is truly a blessing and a curse😂especially around this time of year! Love to see your philodendron tortum. I got one recently, and I’m still waiting for it to put out a new leaf. I feel like sphagnum moss can be harder to use for people in colder regions. I’ve had struggles with moss before in the past. Most local people on my fb group have moved on to use perlite or pon to root plants. I have had success but most of the time in high humidity. Thank you for the tour!

You have sooooo many plants I wanna get my hands on loll. Been looking around a bit for a variegated Bear Paw, I have the standard green and its done fantastic for me. I actually got it to flower over the winter, and its still pushing out new buds lol. Started blooming around October and it won't stop lol. They have suchhh pretty flowers.

I have a zz stem propagation from a couple winters ago and it’s just started growing two branches a few months back, and still the branches haven’t made their way to full size yet, but they are definitely going to be branches right off the bat.

I’ve heard that calathea can curl their leaves like that when it’s too much light/heat on the leaves and they relax after the light subsides. Maybe that’s what your velvet calathea was doing? Anywho 😉💗🌿

The light in your south facing window may be too bright for your Calathea Warscewiczii. I have mine a few feet away from my window in indirect line. It never is exposed to direct sunlight. Mine is about the same size as yours. Also, thank you so much for sharing this houseplant tour! Loved it!
Your monkey tail cactus would benefit from having an overhead grow light. It seem to be growing toward the window giving it a weird shape.

Hi, would it be possible for you to talk about electricity bills in terms of grow lights? I live in Poland, where our bills are quite high comparing to our salaries, and the main reason I'm not using grow lights is because I'm scared of the amount of energy they consume :').
