This is just clips of my favorite Arlene Francis moments. I wish I could be as charming and witty as her. I tried to do the editing as best I could. Disclaimer: I do own any of the clips in this video.
She had the warmest smile & charming cheeky disposition. Simply put she was fabulous. Can't help smiling when i see her on WML. I thought John Charles Daly was the consummate professional. Just great.
I love this woman even though I only came to know her a couple of months ago on What's My Line. I'm so glad I found that show. I'm addicted and my fav is Arlene. When she smiles it's like her eyes smile too. I love her personality and wit. I wish I had known her..
I love this woman! I especially love when she would used very clever double entendre or do her naughty laugh. I'll bet that she was really fun at parties.
Her humor, her charm, her good taste in general... She was way before her time. The public today would be very receptive 2 her. I've always wondered why she never made it big time. She had everything going for her. She must've had the right connections...
My guess is she didn't want the big time ...although shows on Broadwsy are no small feat. She recognized she really had a wonderful life. So few in show business are content with what they have. Getting a series or something bigger would have taken her away from her husband and son, whom she adored. She was already a busy woman. I heard Martin complain once that his wife was rarely home as it was. Martin died way before she did. I would have loved to have seen this couple on the game show: "Tattletales" another Goodson-Todman production. I'd love to read her book.
And thank you for compiling this collection. Thank heaven for the Game Show Network and CZcams -- for if it weren't for them a lot of Arlene Francis would be sitting on some warehouse shelf doing nothing. RE: that sequence of Arlene in her eyeglasses -- there was an early WML episode where all the panelists Dorothy and Arlene included said goodnight wearing their spectacles.
Wonderful moments and a wonderful lady! Love how you got those great lines from "One, Two, Three" in there as well. I laugh myself silly at the Stephenson remark!
@tardistou Thank you for watching it. That would be the jazz trombonist that was teaching Arlene at the time how to play the trombon. Arlene had to learn it for the play she was going to do Mrs. Dally Has a Lover.
@Kate8790 Thank you so much! this is where I saw the other parts, I just had one more link to go! :) It's in part 5! Thank you for being so prompt too, oh and I absolutely LOVE your videos, Arlene Francis Favorites 1 and 2 respectively. :)
@Kate8790 I know the feeling, but thankfully I've relatively recently started digging up Arlene videos on youtube, so I've got some left to go (but I'm blowing through them all too quickly!). I'm so glad people have taken upon themselves to upload all of the videos they have though. And I would definitely enjoy a 3rd favorites video. And a 4th. And however many others you would like to post. :) And of course the movie...
one of my favorite episodes was of her when her son was on the pannel 3:24 but it seems like revealing who he was , was a mistake by john daly haha, ( i noted that idea when i first saw the episode) :) either way i love arlene (im only 30) she was quite before my time. but she was just such a class act , one of a kind. anyone who would be like her today would be a very lucky person
@soulierinvestments Thanks for commenting! :) I love Arlene Francis, can't have her sitting on a shelf, lol. I haven't seen the other one. Is it around?
@Kate8790 Thanks for the quick response! And that's okay about the links, I know youtube is weird like that. On a side note, have you seen the clip of Arlene on I've Got A Secret, where her secret is that she's learning to play the trombone? She even plays a little bit. You probably have, but I thought I'd mention it just in case you'd missed it. :)
Kate8790 ah bummer! thanks anyways :) i keep hoping some I've Got a Secret superfan will start posting eps so we'd see a couple more Arlene appearances.
@CapereAstra Yup, lol, I've seen that video too. I think I've seen almost all of them of Arlene on here. I'm hoping new ones pop up soon. I'm trying to post not only a 3rd Arlene favorites but also the movie The Thrill of it All with Doris Day. I have yet to figure out how I can cut and convert the video to post on youtube.
@IEnjoyHippies She is talking to Tony Randall in the first clip if you type in both their names you can see the full clip. It isn't very long though. And yes I love the Password ones, very funny! :)
Thank you for these! I just adore Arlene. :) What are the first clip, 1:58, 3:02, 3:43, 4:03, 4:54, and 7:26 from? Sorry for the long list - I've seen a lot of the WML clips, but far from all of them (thankfully, because this means I still have more to watch!). In any case, those looked particularly interesting, although Arlene is obviously wonderful in all of them. :)
@CapereAstra 1:58 What's my line sardine taster, 3:02 is What's my line steve allen (there are a few with him as a guest but it's there), 3:43 What's my line jazz trombonist (this one is my favorite. It's hilarious. Arlene was the only one blind folded because the woman was teaching Arlene how to play the trombone), 4:03 and 7:26 what's my line search pins and it should be the first one that comes up, 4:54 search what's my line sal and it should be the first one with part 1.
@2:53 was that Ralph Bellamy? I love Arlene... she's so hilarious. And some of the things she said... were HILARIOUS! I would watch everything she appeared in if I could!
Where did you find the first clip, and the clip from 2:27? I've seen the others but I can't find these. Well I've seen the episode from 2:27 but not that part. I'ld like to see all of the first part, please help. I'ld really appreciate it! :)
Well, Kate8790, I'm sure you are just as witty, charming and beautiful as Arlene is! Thank you for posting this. Right at the end, where her son is making remarks about her, it seems to come from some sort of documentary. Would you have any more details of this? Thank you...
I'm interested in knowing who the woman is from 3:39 to 3:56... There's Arlene Francis, and what seems to be Carol Channing and then the mystery guest.
I think this was the episode where a contestant had something to do with maternity clothes, and someone asked whether Dorothy would have more use for "the product" than Arlene, to which the answer was "no." Dorothy was protesting because she had three children while Arlene only had one, so obviously Dorothy would have had more use for that type of clothing.
That was the episode in which the contestant made diaper pins. Dorothy asked if she would have applied the product to a suitable object and got a "yes." Arlene got a "no" earlier on a similar question.
Arlene's face when she laughs is just TOO adorable.
Arlene Francis was a gift that made the world a more beautiful place. Thanks.
Bronzebk god... yes
Look at me , Watching Her,
Arlene and am mesmerised
She had the warmest smile & charming cheeky disposition. Simply put she was fabulous. Can't help smiling when i see her on WML. I thought John Charles Daly was the consummate professional. Just great.

"There comes a time when a man talks too much!!"

Venom101002 n
She was beautiful in every possible sense of the world.
And a standout actress
Arlene was the person that made you smile, whether you were of a mind to or not!! You wanted to say "This is my friend, Arlene"!
One of my favorite game show panelists! Arlene was one in a billion
I love this woman even though I only came to know her a couple of months ago on What's My Line. I'm so glad I found that show. I'm addicted and my fav is Arlene. When she smiles it's like her eyes smile too. I love her personality and wit. I wish I had known her..
I hear that, so true.
I love this woman! I especially love when she would used very clever double entendre or do her naughty laugh. I'll bet that she was really fun at parties.
I can only imagine what she was like at parties without censors around to quiet her!
Such beauty and such wit she had. Wonderful combo Arlene!.
Omg shes the sweetest and the cutest i love her sm
Arlene Francis was the greatest game show panelist there's ever been and 2nd place is nowhere close.
Agree...I really enjoyed Dorothy Kilgallen too.
A nice tribute from Peter Gabel at the end.
she was pure gold....
My love for this woman grows with each clip I see!
she is adorable
Her humor, her charm, her good
taste in general...
She was way before her time.
The public today would be very
receptive 2 her.
I've always wondered why she
never made it big time.
She had everything going for her.
She must've had the right connections...
My guess is she didn't want the big time ...although shows on Broadwsy are no small feat.

Arlene a favorite, she was classy & real.... a rare find.!
Pardon the cliche, but Arlene was ahead of her time. And what a wit!!!
She was just so lovely
I think we need a best of Martin and Arlene video!!! It would be soooooo great!
There is one!
@@russ5024 Where?
@@hillarymelechen249 It is among the "What's My Line?" video.
Nice tribute from Peter at the end, and now he's left us as well. RIP to them all.

I wish I could have known Arlene.
I just saw this for the first time. Thanks so much--it's wonderful!
Peter Gabel, wow! Are you the real Peter Gabel? I think people think yours is the channel of a Gabel fan.
I think it’s the real Peter! Your mother was one amazing woman 👌☺️
Wish I had met, Arlene & the rest of the gang...On Whats My Line! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a woman!
Wow..what a woman.
Thanks for the generous helping of Allen Ludden in this video!
she was great. funny, witty... she had it..
0:19 - 0:27 I wish I had been alive to say, "Well, she IS a doll! I can tell you that!"
Seeing Arlene with a cigarette at 2:26. I think I only saw that ONCE in all the years I've watched WML clips.
Beauty Inside Out
Equals Arlene
Ha, there will never be celebrities like from back in the day. Especially ones like Arlene Francis. She had class.
Can you imagine if celebrities carried themselves with this kind of class today?
Jake Mabe The first thing we'd have to do with today's 'stars' is explain what class is. 🤔
Dally Has a Lover.
what an Attractive woman,, in many ways.
"OOH I'VE GOT IT!" Lol.
Wonderful compilation! Thanks!
@Kate8790 Thank you so much! this is where I saw the other parts, I just had one more link to go! :) It's in part 5! Thank you for being so prompt too, oh and I absolutely LOVE your videos, Arlene Francis Favorites 1 and 2 respectively. :)

A Great Lady...
Arlene looks so beautiful at 3:15

@soulierinvestments Thanks for commenting! :) I love Arlene Francis, can't have her sitting on a shelf, lol. I haven't seen the other one. Is it around?
Arlenes bull comment is the best.
@delightfulstar My absolute favorite one besides when she does the little dance, lol. Only Arlene though could get away with something like that.
@Kate8790 Thanks for the quick response! And that's okay about the links, I know youtube is weird like that. @IEnjoyHippies Should be. Just type in What's my line exercise instructor. Arlene is so flirty in that one!
thanks kate for this awesome montage! i was wondering if you had the i've got a secret episode that is at the very end of this video? thanks!
No I wish I did. I found it from a video Peter Gabel was narrating about his mother. :(
Kate8790

Wow! Peter Gable looks just like his dad....... minus the long hair, of course!
@CapereAstra 1:58 What's my line sardine taster, 3:02 is What's my line steve allen (there are a few with him as a guest but it's there), 3:43 What's my line jazz trombonist (this one is my favorite. What episode were Arlene and Martin having a bit of a tiff? Where Martin said, "Because DEAR they make less than $3000 dollars...". Thank you.
@2:53 was that Ralph Bellamy? I love Arlene... she's so hilarious. And some of the things she said... were HILARIOUS! I would watch everything she appeared in if I could!
What episode is the first clip from? Does anybody know?
What documentary is that last bit from? Id love to watch it, i love arlene!
Arlene Francis has the tendency to look like Sean Young.
Or vice versa.
She was definitely into Mr Thorpe! He was pretty cute though.
Where did you find the first clip, and the clip from 2:27? I've seen the others but I can't find these. Well I've seen the episode from 2:27 but not that part. I'ld like to see all of the first part, please help. I'ld really appreciate it! :)
At 0:05 which season and episode is that? Also whose the guest star? Looks familiar.
Well, Kate8790, I'm sure you are just as witty, charming and beautiful as Arlene is! Thank you for posting this. Right at the end, where her son is making remarks about her, it seems to come from some sort of documentary. Would you have any more details of this? Thank you...
What episode is the very first clip from? where she says "excuse me martin" lol
Her son looks a lot like both her and Martin.
1:53 Arlene Francis thinking "Bitch!"
If you type in What's my line husband it should be like the fourth one down. It will have 1965 on it.
anyone know where i can find the full episode for 6:35?
Of an Armenian heritage. That’s explains the smile.
@CapereAstra I tried posting the links but youtube didn't allow it.
My high school German to the rescue - when she says "schwanger" at 2:41 she's saying "pregnant".
Love Arlene Francis, Who was the guest at the 4:48 ?? That they were to guess
can anyone tell me where the two clips between 5:08 and 5:36 are from?
Password and What's My Line's 1960 Christmas episode
what episode is 2:47 cause it is funny but i think i am missing something in the joke
@PinkCowgirl925 Just type in the search box what's my line cheesecake photographer. Should be there.
@MJnotMaryJane Here is the video for it watch?v=AwaXfzY0ZGs if you want to see the whole episode that should lead you to it! Hope I helped. :)
This show wouldn't have worked if you didn't like all of them, but especially Arlene.
@americanidol510 Just look up Alan and Marshall What's my line. Should be the first video. :)
I'm interested in knowing who the woman is from 3:39 to 3:56... There's Arlene Francis, and what seems to be Carol Channing and then the mystery guest.
She was the lady teaching Arlene how to play the trombone.
What did Dorothy ask at 6:30 ???
She said, "Well I have three children" lol.
Kate8790 what was the anwser before she asked the question.
I can't find Martin Gabel, where they ask him questions
I think this was the episode where a contestant had something to do with maternity clothes, and someone asked whether Dorothy would have more use for "the product" than Arlene, to which the answer was "no." Dorothy was protesting because she had three children while Arlene only had one, so obviously Dorothy would have had more use for that type of clothing.
That was the episode in which the contestant made diaper pins. Dorothy asked if she would have applied the product to a suitable object and got a "yes." Arlene got a "no" earlier on a similar question.
3:37 Now I know why women cover their mouth sometimes.
My love for this woman grows with each clip I see!
