    Forced multiculturalism doesn’t really work. At the heart of it people prefer to form friendships and relationships with their own. Culture is more than just ethnicity or borders. @FallacyAsPraxis...At the heart of it people prefer to form friendships and relationships with their own. More so they form friendship with people they have alot in common with. Not per se based on ethicity, a Brazilian one who is of German decent and the other of Japanese will still have more in common despite being of different ethnic group. Same way a Euro-American from the South of the US will have more in common with a Afro-American then with some French person from Quebec. Its culture, shared values and customs that shape them togheter. I do agree with the statement '' Not everyone wants to go beyond what they know and are used to. As much as a lot of people feel comfortable with their own doesn't mean they don't want to know and explore other races and cultures. Only ignorant dimwits who think their race/culture is superior or better than others would think or come to that conclusion that others don't want to know about other people and their culture. Also it's ironic that people who have your type of mentality are quick to hop on planes to places like Asia to go hunt for those poor mail order brides. We've seen that too many times.

      Immigrants are always seen and treated like second class citizens especially if they have an "accent". I've traveled to many places in the world and I have observed consistently that it is always people in the English speaking countries that are avoidant of people who don't look or sound like them. They may have a chat with you and be courteous on the surface but they will often not treat you like an equal. Even the Japanese, Chinese, Thais or Russians were more hospitable towards foreigners than people in the West regardless of language barrier.

    • @omegashenron8
      @omegashenron8 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@eat_ze_bugsEnglish speaking people aren't avoiding people who don't look or sound like them. It's that most times they don't even have a chance to interact with them in the first place. As I already said, most immigrants now don't make an effort to assimilate into the country they move to. They will just move to an area that is mostly of the same race as them and not even bother to learn English or interact with anyone that doesn't look like them. Most English speakers will make an effort beyond polite and courteous if the non English speaker is being shown to make an effort but otherwise they will not go out of their way.
      Funny how you say English speakers are only surface level with foreigners then go on to say Japanese are more hospital lol. It's within Japanese culture to be polite and courteous to everyone. Just because they are hospitable on the surface does not mean they actually see a foreigner as an equal. A Japanese person will always be treated better than a foreigner in Japan. I'm also not believing Russia is as hospitable as you say considering the race and religion discrimination issues they have going on over there. I'm also not buying China as being all that hospitable either as they also have their own race discrimination issues too.
      Your post reads like Western bashing propaganda if I'm being honest.

      @@omegashenron8 Being born and raised in a rural English countryside and not being white, I know very well how people are in the west who have little to no exposure to immigrants and their culture. One can have a conservative culture without being avoidant or treating others less than your own, the last time I was in Vladivostok I had dinner with the family of our taxi driver of that day despite us speaking very little of each other's language. That would never be possible where I'm from. It is true that many immigrants don't assimilate, it is also true that many locals will not accept immigrants of different cultures/values despite saying they do, so who's fault is it for causing this divide in your society?
      Unless they're left leaning Millennials/Gen Z city people, most in the west wouldn't go out of their own way to be open to inviting strangers of different cultures or origins into their lives and be truly open unless they are forced to interact with them through workplaces, events, relatives, etc. If you travel the world enough you will realise being polite and courteous is not the same as being hospitable.
      I'll give you another one of my experiences in Asia, when a friend and I was visiting Malaysia a number of years ago. We were sipping our morning coffee in a small restaurant whilst sharing tables with two random elderly couple. We had a small chat, nothing significant, and then out of the blue they offered to show us the city landmarks and popular eateries they frequented. We went in separate cars and they guided us through the city for 3-4 hours for nothing in return. It is safe to say that apart from Eastern Europe or Scandinavia I doubt I would ever have these kinds of experiences if I had only visited similar western countries to my own.
      People who watch too much CZcams videos about the world without actually travelling to those places often dismiss whatever statement others will say as "propaganda"; but that isn't my problem, people can live in their own social media bubble and it wouldn't affect my lived experiences about the world.

    In Sydney, I ran an airbnb and eventually we had to turn away french guests because of the ‘we invite our friends things’. They would all have these house parties which went all night, with absolutely no regard for any of the other guests or neighbours or anyone else around. By far the worst guests. Superfisciously they were nice then spit in your face and have the parties. And I mean all. And even if you said, bro it’s 3am go out to a bar, they would say: ‘yeah, yeah we will” then just keep partying like assholes. My neighbours and stuff also did airbnb and eventually refused french guests for the same reasons.

      France is a feminine-run country. So no boundaries on short-term thinking behaviour like drinking or relationship-breaking behaviour. This manifests in different ways, but france and Australia (and Canada) was similar in the ‘fakeness’. But I do prefer Canadians to French, they do seem to have more regard for other people, rather than ‘just’ partying and themselves.

      And they have trouble making female friends, shows the entitlement. And it’s not friends, it’s just someone to ‘party’ with. Is the same in Thailand, Australia, Canada etc. But Canadians are just going to go party with their frat friends. When you already have friends, you don’t need to run around making friends. So they don’t really care about the culture or other people’s experience (like the people at my airbnb’s who threw parties) they just want as many people as possible to party with so they look ‘cool’. Is all. about them.

    Western societies in general seem to be very bad for making friends if you haven't actually been born and grown up there, and even then if people know you're foreign they might avoid you. Its kinda sad. Generally, eastern societies like India, Pakistan, Iran etc are places where you can easily make good friends. People are far more hospitable to foreigners and less of the superficial politeness the girls speak of (you actually get genuine warmth!).

    • @onlineonlineaccount2368
      @onlineonlineaccount2368 Před 3 měsíci +9

      @thecrimsondragon9744 ...I think most hospitable and friendly people to be friends with are Africans, Carribeans, Latin Americans and some Asian groups. These people often are very open to be friends, invite you over, have something to eat ect. Especially Africans can be very very friendly and welcoming. I find West Europeans to be very superficial/fake and not so genuine to each other. They are more ''friends'' to gain something from you. Many are also two-faced and i say this as as Western European myself. Muslim-Middle Eastners can be open aswell, but they are very muslim ethnocentric if you are not a muslim they are less likely open to you like that. For example in France everyone knows how friendly Francophone African communities are...but many French will say how superficial and fake French/Western-European people can be among each other and against non-Europeans aswell.

    CH, you need to look at the bigger economic picture. Most people are being hit hard by inflation. Canada was already a very expensive place to live compared to most of US prior to COVID; now it's much worse for both countries. Many people are working a full-time job PLUS a part-time job or a side hustle, just to keep up with inflation. That alone would cut into time to make new friends. Are Canadians really cold/unfriendly or just under time & financial pressure, so they have to be very selective?

There was quite a hot and intelligent Hungarian woman, who was exactly complaining about the same. And yeah, it was just somehow very clearly in the air that this is excatly was the problem, that she would just outdo the medicore Swiss girls clubing or any interaction with men...
    By the way I couldn't believe some of the extremly ridiculous arrogant behaviours I have experianced from female asian students. South koreans were extremly arrogant (they were pretty decent looking, I would have done them if I could. But definetly no relationship material), same with 1-2 Chinese girls (decent hot), one girl from China (of course below average) wanted to take me to China and marry me. You are very handsome and don't forget there are good people out there. Been with one person for over twenty three years. And I know without a doubt, that I would never remarry. The dating scene is so superficial and shallow, all about money, what type of job you have, how much money do you make? When I was young in my teens out on a date. We would go to this hoagie place in, Red Bank, New Jersey which has a beach area with caves. At the hoagie place they sold Italian Hoagies for .99 cents. This was in the 1980's , You could also buy a generic two liter soda for .69 cents and a Tasty Cake for dessert. So for under $5.00, 2 people can have each a foot long hoagie, chips, coke and dessert. Gas was as cheap as a $1.00 per gallon then. I write this because I want everyone who reads this post. How prices have increased, ask a person aged over 55 today about it. what food, gas jobs paid in correlation. In 1986 in West Philadelphia, PA I rented a three bedroom apartment for $450.00 per month. Look at what people are paying now?
