Forget 2016 when KD had a 3-1 lead. In 2013, KD went into the playoffs with Russ injured. So that was his opportunity to show that he was no longer handicapped by Russ and what happened? But Skip won’t mention that for some reason.

KD had career highs all around the board. Was a lock for regular season MVP and in 1st place until getting hurt. Still won 44 games and made the playoffs. Shame is definitely the wrong word here. I just love how these shows still analyze using the 80s formula when 1 person carried a team. These irrelevant debates are entertaining, but the reality is that the game has evolved so much no 1 person can dominate anymore. The most egregious part is that he actually THREW games 6 and 7. I vividly remember this dude playing hero ball and jacking up a contested shot, or getting stripped. In brooklyn, his dogshit defense on tatum, allowing him to get free off ball directly led them to be the only team without the win during this year's playoffs. Unfortunately you have retards like skip who don't know how basketball works, and don't realize that KD only "looked" like he was the best player, because he was playing with an all time great court warper. If you had butler, tatum, PG, Kawhi in Kd's position they all would look like the best player.
If Westbrook was the only problem for Durant then why did he go to Golden State instead of say another team that had more of a pass first point guard mentality. Durant would have struggled more without Westbrook because he would have had to be the leader of the team and they would have been far less tenacious and dangerous as a result. You can't be an all time great just coasting on your talent, you have to also lead and make others around you better.
Also Durant didn't even buy into the Golden State team ball style, the reason Houston almost beat them was because they used the ISO of Durant to take Golden State out of their usual pass and move rhythm. Durant looked great putting up huge stats while the team struggled. We can't say for sure what would have happened but if Chris Paul plays that Game 7 you'd like to imagine Houston would have been more composed and not just panicked themselves into chucking 3s.
I always said that I didnt fault him for not wanting to play with Westbrook, but to go to the team that just won 73 games and that you just lost a heartbreaking series to, that was the weakest move of all time.
