I have a 48 cub. I'm more concerned with getting mine field ready and collecting every impliment I can. Eventually I will pretty her up but for now I need it for my large garden. I traded a guy for mine and when I got it it was in pieces. It had been disassembled and moved 3 times before it got o my barn. I think they left a few pieces behind every time it was moved. I have her running great
Thanks for walking through the electrical system rebuild. I’ve recently inherited dad’s ‘49 cub, which he likely bought used in the early ‘50’s. My brother’s and I mostly drove it to plow snow (funny how it never had a battery in winter!). It still starts with the crank!
The original dealer helped bring her back to life (probably had not run for 14 years). They carefully worked on the major mechanical issues. They got her running via the electric start, once, and explained system wasn’t charging the battery. I was thrilled she was running at all, as drove her on my trailer and headed home. Since then, the “positive ground” electrical system has been a mystery. Watching you work out somewhat similar issues has given me confidence on how to move forward. Until then, I’ll keep cranking her back to life!
Your wiring diagram is nearly identical to one in a service manual. Being a child of the late 20th century, your colorful version was easier for me to understand! Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Glad to help Bruce! That's really neat it's been in the family that long. Good luck with the Cub!
You have yourself a keeper! You will be looking for attachments next.😊. Thx for sharing! Brings back many childhood memories with my Dad!
Yes, I'll be on the lookout for some attachments!
Me again. I have managed to find quite a few of the impliments. I have a sickle bar mower, woods belly mower, cultivators, planter/fertilizer setup all in working order. It's a major accomplishment figuring out how to mount and hook up all that stuff. The cub was the perfect garden and small farm tractor, love it. Your turned out beautifully.
Thank you. Nice job finding all those implements! They are not easy to come by.
i love your videos they are informative, but you do not say too much and get distracting very well done very good machine im going to pick mine up this Sunday !!!
Thanks Jake! Good luck with the new toy!
owning one of those is on my bucket list. Well done.
Thanks for the wiring diagram! Helped me out a bunch! Thanks for posting!
Glad it helped!
Nice tractor. You should enjoy that for a long time.
Nice video, wish i had your building LOL.
Great job on the restore, I like the old school wiring..I think it was meant to pull a 1 bottom Farmall plow, makes me want to get out and start plowing. LOL
Just starting on a1950 cub. Your timing is perfect. Thanks
Excellent work, as always, and great diagram at the end. You really put a lot of time into your videos.
Thanks Doug. I sure enjoy the process.
I have been running my cub for a year now and it still dont charge, its on my "to do" list. Looks good
Nice video!!
Good job. decals would really set it off. To look original the rear wheel rims should be painted aluminum,
That is great because mine are red also ive seen some were white so is it different years my cub is a 49
I need one of these chain wrenches...
They do come in handy from time to time…
That Cub is running nicely? What are your future plans for it? They make great chore tractors.
Yes, I think I'll use it a lot for odd jobs around the property.
How tall is your Cub to the very top of the muffler?
Approximately 68 3/8”
Do you plan on keeping it long term?
Yes, this is a keeper.
