I'm the manager of a store that sells and repairs watches. Changing a strap is literally the first thing I learned to do and I've done it hundreds of times in my 8 years. This video perfectly shows everything we do. One quick note though. If the strap is too narrow for the lugs, that extra shifting back and forth can pull out the spring bars.
Can I replace metal bracelet with another one (leather) of there is no gap between lugs, only two small cuts for connecting the link? Citizen CA4010-58L

Detailed & Thorough - surprised to see instruction for multiple types of bands 2. Perfectly shot up close with great perspective 3. Pro tips included - the types of things that aren't hard to think of but unless you do this all the time you might not think of them. The only thing I would have loved to see included is what you could use on lieu of a spring bar tool because I don't have one and can imagine that most people don't. Thank you so much!

Put some adhesive tape between the perlon strap and the back of you watch. Perlon straps tend to leave ugly marks and scratches when worn daily. You see that often with vintage models. A bit of tape can prevent that.
I think NATO and PERLON straps are the best as I have been wearing leather, foam, rubber bands/straps throughout my life till date. now it's time to try the NATO and PERLONs . yeahhh
My wife bought me a doxa dive watch with a orange face for my birthday. This is what one of my favorite authors wore and I am in real estate. I was wondering is this okay as a daily ware with my business casual and a suite?
Amazon just had $625 watch for $275 and i have always wanted a really nice watch. Problem is the band is leather so i may see if i can get a compatable steel or titanium band and save the leather for like weddings and special events.
I got a super cheap watch from china. I dont think it uses the spring bar would it still be possible to swap it. It looks like possibly a tiny pin i need to press out. There isnt a clean break for where a spring bar would insert and remove. Everything is built together it looks like. Any help would be appreciated thanks
I wish that there would be a revival of the snap bands that were prevalent years ago. You just ran one end over each spring bar and snapped the band in place. Simple. I don't know why they fell out of favor.

Watch companies should take a note from Apple and make it stupidly easy to replace the watch band without tools. Either the watch companies need to come together and make a new standard for connecting watch bands or if the watch company wants to make more money, make it proprietary. If you have an Omega watch and you can easily change the watch band in mere seconds, completely changing the look of it, people are gonna invest in watch bands that work with their Omega, which means they're more likely to stick with Omega. It's good for business. I'm not saying replacing a standard watch band is hard but once you're able to do it without any tools and it doesn't require a 6 minute long tutorial you realize replacing watch bands like this, is archaic. All I'm saying is, have an open mind and let the new kid show you some new tricks.

Man, it's refreshing to see a how-to video that's to-the-point, contains all necessary information, well shot, and even has chapter markers to boot.

Remember to check ; 18, 20, or 22 mm as most common widths.
Also, know your own wrist size, it's as constant as shoe size.
I love the Seiko 5 Automatic, & also the military style versions.
Be advised, they are 18mm! Still have my first from 1986.

So what if you have terrible arthritis? It was easy getting the metal band off of my citizen but can't get the new bund strap on.
