Unfortunately, since the savior sibling procedure is legal, there is nothing CPS can do about it. Because if they did, the parents could sue them for 'trampling on their parenting rights' as, until a certain age, parents can make medical choices for their child. The only way they could step in is if Gavin was saying no and asked the hospital staff for help because his parents tried to force him to. Not to even mention how freaking YOUNG Gavin is, Chirst. There's a reason why minors are rarely donors for these sort of things.

Another episode that reminds me of My Sister’s Keeper; I loved that movie. The younger brother should really see a therapist because growing up knowing that you were made to be parts for your brother can not be good for your mental state. These parents really need to look at themselves; I understand wanting to do everything you can for your child to live, but your slowly killing your other child by doing so. You never know if a surgery will go bad especially when it concerns transplants.

The ending in the book made it seem/feel, to me, that all the actions that Anna and Kate did were for nothing as well as the message that the parents shouldn't have used Anna like that and should've listened more to what she wanted. Anna dying just came out of nowhere and it seemed like her life didn't mean anything. She was born for her sister and, in the end, she fulfilled that purpose. Just a personal opinion.

There's a movie about this kind of thing. It's called, 'My Sister's Keeper' - Two sisters, one very sick and the other is used for organ donation. She hires a lawyer to sue her parents.
I've never looked into this myself, I don't know if this is real because it's insane? You're putting one child through *a lot* of pain, and the other is a sacrificial lamb and will always come second. What happens when the sick child dies? That second child will always come second. Very cruel of the parents - I understand they're in a terrible position and no one should have to bury their young, but this isn't the answer.
