    To anyone watching this
    considering moving to Fairhope.
    -
    It is Expensive. Like expensive enough that u could find a home in gulf shores, orange beach, pensacola beach, or gulf breeze for the same price. So keep that in mind.
    The " beach " in fairhope on mobile bay is NOT a place where u are going to enjoy swimming in the water, and the sand quality at North Beach compaired to the actual beaches nearby along the gulf is terrible.
    Fishing from the pier in fairhope usually doesnt produce anything wroth catching 90% of the time. U mught catch a red drum, jack crevalle or a small bull shark if ur lucky but u are mostly going to have ur bait stolen by crabs, or u are going to be catching catfish. And your also going to be competing for a spot because when the weather is nice it is very busy with people fishing the sides.
    Other than events there isnt a whole lot to do downtown. Some coffee shops, a few bars, and some awfully tasted clothing stores with a few exceptions.
    If u do not have a boat do not expect to do much worth while fishing in this area from shore.
    Yes there are a lot of nice days but just expect that if it is summer time it might rain every day. It might only rain or storm for 20 minutes or it might be all day, but just remember that this area gets nearly as much rainfall per year as Seattle Washington. Serious, it rains A LOT in the summer.
    Coldest part of the year i would say is mid January until mid February and it probably averages around 60 degrees F , but u will probably have between 7 and 15 days that are 35-45 degrees F in that time frame.
    If u choose to live downtown fully expect to be in heavy heavy traffic during any downtown events. For example i lived in an apartment downtown for a few years and during some events i would get off work and it wasnt even possible for me to get home so i would have to park up to a mile away and walk home.
    There are pros to living here i just wanted to focus on some of the things i view as negative or possible deal breakers.
    Also be prepared to be looked at with a stigma for living in fairhope because seemingly a LOT of the people just seem to be playing a giant game of keeping up with the Joneses. If ur neighbor gets a new golf cart then the other neighbors will to, if u add on to ur house then ur neighbor will try to add on bigger to theirs. ( these type of people make up a big percentage of the people who live there in my opinion)
    Also Always feels like Fairhope is either rich crotchety old people, or young familys with rich parents. And they will be more than happy to let u know how much money they have.
    Be prepared to see people pushing dogs in strollers... yup those type of people are plentiful in fairhope.
    Im sure i could go on and on but ive gotta stop somewhere i guess. If u can look past all of that stuff then u will most likely enjoy living there. But if u want my opinion then spend about the same amount of money and buy a place in gulf breeze or pensacola beach or even gulf shores or orange beach and have access to even more to do with imo even better scenery with nicer beaches and nice enjoyable water.
    P.s. Fairhope 100% has a full size walmart just minutes down the street from downtown.

    Ahhh sounds like just the place I’d like to live! So refreshing and nostalgic when you want to get away from the rat race and it’s nice to know towns still exist that still honor traditional values! Thanks for your awesome videos and let’s see those golf swings! 😂⛳️

      Run the a/c to make sure you don't have moisture/ high humidity levels and you'll be fine. This goes for any home in the south

    Hi!
    We're in NY and have Alabama's gulf coast towns in consideration for residence.
    Have you advice and information for which town/city to provide chiropractic health care and a taxi/driving service?
    Thank you.

      You still can! We always tell our clients who are thinking about jumping in to check this site: mobilebaykeeper.org/swim-guide/ AND it's probably best to not swim after a large storm just north of us because the river delta can bring down some nasty stuff!!

      You guys should look into Presleys Lake it's technically in Mississippi but right on the boarder ⛱️🙂

    How is the bug situation? Snakes? Scorpions? Roaches? Huge spiders? Those go in the house?

    • @LivingInLowerAlabama
      @LivingInLowerAlabama  Před rokem

      It's the South.. we have roaches, termites, snakes, all sorts of cool stuff! But tbh if u treat your home, you probably won't see them around. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere.. then it's inevitable!

    • @jackucthatjack5896
      @jackucthatjack5896 Před rokem

      Yes snakes, no scorpions, some big spiders. U will get some wolf spiders in the house from time to time,but that's probably the biggest spider ur gonna find indoors. but u WILL inevitably have run ins with Roaches. They WILL get in your house and anyone in the area who says they won't is lying to u. I'm not saying u will get an infestation but it's a guarantee that u will get big flying roaches in ur house from time to time.

      @jackucthatjack5896 Před rokem

      @@sherriegentry if frank is use to hunting up north like I was then tell him to get unexcited for deer hunting because most of the deer here are TINY compared to anything up north. And hunting
      "in fairhope" isn't really a thing. Ur most likely going to drive 45 minutes + from fairhope to do most any hunting.
