When my wife and I went on this in 2020, we expected it to be a screen ride. What we actually got was such a pleasant surprise, we got off and got right back on. Love this coaster!

No major difference outside of the lighting effects. Definitely excited for it to be open again!
They added a bit new animation to Imhotep screen, at least that last frame was new.
@@psyche234if you're referring to the one at the beginning, that last frame has always been there, the ride timing has just inconsistent in that area due to various factors like a car in the next brake section etc. so seeing it now could be a result of the rumored new control system.

Yeah but the tracks fairly long, you have to consider the parts where you're going fast through the darkness. Also, from what I've seen, most regular roller coasters only last about 1 minute from the top of the hill list.
Really? I thought Hollywood's was shorter.
Thats how you do a refurb, not ruining or taking things out. Just plain fix up what was an outstanding ride in the first place.

For sure! The Mummy ride is my absolute favorite, and when I saw that it was being refurbished, I panicked that they were going to mess with everything I loved or worse...re-theme it to the Mummy with Tom Cruise.
Animatronic was finally fixed.....but they didn't fix the damn soul stealing effect đ€ŹđĄ. The blue light used to illuminate fog that shot out of his mouth, and got sucked into Imhotep's hand. Simple but amazing effect that hasn't worked in at least 10 years.
The wrapped up guy used to also move a lot more
Awesome!! I liked both versions of the Mummy ride (LA and Florida)! Great job recording this!! You were very lucky to record the whole ride for everyone to see! I got a great video of LA's version of the ride from the back row!

I prefer Floridaâs version above the Hollywood one. It felt like they didnât put any creative focus into the Hollywood one, they shouldâve just replicated the Florida one.

Tbh both have their own merits. Orlando has a better dark ride section, and Hollywood has a better coaster section.

Disney is going downhill they dont know how to take notes. They dont know what their doing anymore besides knowing how to take away the magic they once had. Universal has been steppin up. N honestly been enjoying their parks more.and its hard cuz disney has held a special place in my heart.
@@silentdragon162 being at both Disney and universal this week I strongly disagree unless youâre talking strictly magic kingdom. At least I donât have to scramble for a locker every time I want to get on a ride at Disney. Also at Disney for $15 I can ride a ton by pre booking with the app rather than waiting in lines like at universal⊠or pay their insane $100ish fee for express

N honestly if your referring about the genie thing is hot garbage. Disney is falling down the drain. No more disney theming in the hotel rooms amymore all modernized like a hilton.. and speaking of a hilton eyesore being established at the poly is ridiculous. The customer service at disney has declined. The hotels r declining. Stayed at port orleans not to long ago.. the app failed n couldnt open the door. Then once we got in our room. There was piss puddle in tje bathroom. Got chsnged.to another room with a toilet that was backing up. And u expect to pay 2-400 a night for that shit to happen
@@silentdragon162 I hear that a lot about the genie plus and maybe I just had a good experience or picked a good time of year to go but I was able to ride over 20 rides at all 4 parks yesterday using it. Well worth the $15. Iâm staying at a universal hotel and the early entry is a joke. Early entry for 2-3 rides so of course theyâre busier than if you just wait for park open because every resort guest has no other option. Just open all the rides early for guests?? And the lockers are still bs but I get your point about expecting your room key etc to work, especially for the money you pay for these parks. Like I said maybe I just had a good week at Disney and a worse week at universal but the inconvenience of lockers, the useless early entry, and the ridiculous high price for express gives Disney the win for me.

Nice new lighting and strobe effects. Got a 4K overhaul on the projections
Glad the ride is back and in technical rehearsals still some minor tweaks needed like timing and such but other than that looks great glad the ride is back!

Fr my only complaint would be the timing was off when the fake near the end happens when the woman turns into a mummy, it happens too quickly. Other than that the ride is a blast
Im so excited to go back and ride what is one of the best rides in Orlando.

They actually made the animatronics more realistic. Itâs like youâre actually in a toe to toe showdown with the mummy

supposedly the first version of that animatronic was so realistic they had to change it, to make it easier to tell there were no actors. so i imagine the technology was there, they must have switched it back.

I remember I was afraid to go on this the first time and my dad was teasing me about being scared - but he nearly threw up by the end and I actually loved it lol. Mom suggested going on it 3 more times but she really just wanted to torture dad for being mean to me haha.

Whats funny is a similar thing happened with my father lol. I was so scared but my dad told me we wouldn't go eat until we did lol. He got his neck all sore from the braking sections and I ive rode it 7 times since. I love that ride every time I go I ride it at least once.

Is it smooth like the space mountain? No intense drops or anything just turns and twists
Very Smooth and no large drops except at 2:35, but that is only 20-30 feet tall (it is a steep drop). I would highly recommend it, very fun ride!
@@orlandocoasters9762 the drop doesnât look that. If big I saw lights on and nothing is really tall lol đ the escape from gringotts when belltrix hits your cart with spell then you tilt and go down a small drop but seems bigger in dark

@@nickpaulo5202 Its very smooth, and the max height of the ride is only 70 ft but that is not where the drop is, and the drop is not very intense. The thing I don't like about the drop is that it blows smoke all in your face and the smoke machine is pretty loud but the coaster is not too intense being that the drop is only 39 ft tall and has a max angle of 50 degrees (90 being vertical).

I wish vloggers would stop using GoPro's for filming dark rides. They're not capable of filming in a dark environment resulting in unwatchable videos.
I agree with you, but, a gopro secured to a wrist mount (like used in this video) is not considered a loose article, therefore it is safe. A different camera such as a Mirrorless or DSLR style camera can fall out of the ride and injure a person or the ride systems, therefore it is a loose article, which is why I will not record any rides unless I use my GoPro. I hope that you understand and I apologize for the grainy and dark footage. Thank you for the comment.
The layout is very similar with the one in Universal Studios Singapore tho! Or it might be the same.

Did you notice anything different? I canât tell. Maybe they just updated the resolution on the projectors
It's mainly the ride is a lot smoother, the effects are a bit brighter and the jumping mummies in the gold room actually work right. It's a great referb.
In my opinion all that changed was the track was smoother after the launch (the room with the bugs still slams you back and foward) and the effects seemed to be a lot more bright! đđą
The fake unload station looks a lot darker.
