Revenge of the Mummy is an enclosed steel roller coaster featured at Universal Studios Florida. The roller coaster is based upon the popular Mummy movie franchise directed by Stephen Sommers. It opened on May 21, 2004 and was built by Premier Rides. The ride was reputed to be built at a cost of $45,000,000 USD. It has a minimum passenger height requirement of 48 inches (1.2 m).
The Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster uses Linear induction motors (LIM), a technology used to launch riders from a complete standstill. The ride features three LIM launches.
The roller coaster lasts nearly three minutes and features a top speed of 45 mph (72 km/h). The track is 2,200-foot (670 m) long featuring no inversions, 80 degree banked turns, and a 50 degree angle of descent. The building housing the roller coaster was previously home to one of Universal's landmark attractions, "Kongfrontation". Homages to the Kong attraction can be found in several areas within the Mummy attraction, including a golden statue of King Kong in the second scene of the ride.
Although the roller coaster shares a name with several around the world, each has a unique plot and track layout.
As the ride begins, the mine cars move into another room inside Imhotep's tomb, where Reggie (a "Revenge of the Mummy" crew member who was missing on the set) is seen partly mummified and warns the riders: "Are you insane? Get out of here! The curse is real; this whole place is a trap! He is after your souls! Look for the medjai symbol. It's your only hope!" Before Reggie can finish his sentence, Imhotep then comes out of a sarcophagus, shouts, "Silence!", sucks out Reggie's soul, and tells riders, "With your souls, I shall rule for all eternity!" The cars next move into a second room where there is treasure on the left and right sides of the car and Imhotep appears from the sand in front of a tomb mural and tempts the riders: "Serve me and savor riches beyond measure, or refuse and savor a more bitter treasure." Soldier mummies appear in front of the treasure. The car then quickly moves into another room where the mine car "hits" a wall and scarab beetles come "pouring out" of a wall in front of the riders. The car drops backwards and turns in a 180 degree circle before stopping. Imhotep appears again on a screen above the riders and warns that "Not even the Medjai can save you now. There is no escape.....Your end shall be my beginning.....Behold your fate...." Then the ride catapults guests at speeds up to 45 mph in virtual darkness as Imhotep states: "Your souls are mine!" The mine car enters trough Imhotep's skull and drops through various turns past projections of mummies and fire. There are, however, no inversions. The car comes to a stop after this, and a female ride attendant appears behind a glassed control booth and thanks them for riding, but Imhotep sucks out her soul, breaks the glass, and sets the ceiling on fire while shouting "Prepare to forfeit your souls! Death is only the beginning!" The car then drops down 39 ft (the highest drop in the ride) and goes down a winding drop until a Medjai symbol appears while Imhotep shouts "NOOOOO!" as the vehicle passes through the Medjai symbol. Brendan Fraser/Rick O'Connell appears on a screen in front of them and yells at his assistant for a cup of coffee. Instead, Imhotep appears and hands it to him, followed by Fraser staring up at the character. The screen goes to black as the screams of Fraser and the roars of Imhotep are heard. Riders are directed to exit through an actual unload station.
I love how they always put so much effort into decorating the wait lines.

At disney they do it somewhat, but at universal they go full out! I personally like Universal way better.
I like how they used real fire . But holy crap it gets super hot in there . I now know what a TURKEY IN THE OVEN FEELS LIKE ! Overall it was a great ride .

Okay so funny story time:
I went on this with my mom a couple weeks ago and sitting behind us was this group of four college-age guys. Before we got on, one of them was like, “this is a tame ride, right?” and his friends were like “yeah man it’s fine”.
As soon as it gets to the roller coaster part, the guy yells, “YOU FUCKING LIED TO MEEEEE” the ENTIRE time.
I was dying by the time we got off. It was hilarious.

My friend and I thought that this was a 3D ride (we are idiots). Both of us are scared of crazy rollercosters. So we are in the cart thinking we are in for a 3D adventure. Not the case. It surprised us. But when it was over, I thought it was one of the best rides I've been on. It was really cool.

Ok, for all the people who are afraid to go on this roller coaster:
I was kind of afraid to go on this, to be completely honest. I was NOT a huge fan of roller coasters at all. I hated the feeling of dropping or the thought of falling out. But my friend forced me to go on this and I was pretty afraid. If you're younger, don't worry about being afraid of the mummies that come out of nowhere. They're not scary at all. Also, there are no huge drops, loops, and all that jazz. There's only some small drops. The only 'scary' thing about this ride would be how it's in the dark and you can't exactly see where you're going. If you visit Orlando, you MUST go on this ride. You'll regret it if you wimp out and don't go on.

If you get there kinda early, the workers REALLY get into it, very nice, and if you ask politely for front seat they will ask you to step away and wait, then they kindly give you a front seat. So nice of them.
On a school trip we asked a lady for directions and she just pointed with a creepy look on her face and complete silence like she was part of the ride

My wife and I went a couple of years ago on a semi-rainy weekday, so the park was pretty dead. There were newer rides like the Transformers 4D ride, but this was the one we kept coming back to. Rode it at least 10 times. There's something about timing between the cinematic aspect and the changing direction and speed of the coaster that makes it so much fun. I hope it's still there when my kids are old enough!

This is by far my favourite roller coaster at Universal. It's not even that much of a scary coaster. It's literally the darkness and the speed that makes it more scary.
I remember the second time I went to Orlando, it was so quiet. Me and my mom just went on this about a million times. It was amazing.
I want to go again this year so bad. Hopefully for Halloween Horror Nights. It's just so expensive coming from the UK.

This ride is completely different now! It's ALOT scarier, you go shooting through a "screen" and flying straight down in the dark, the ceiling sets on fire and it gets hot. It's freaking amazing now. One of the best rides there. I recently visited this park for the first time. It was the first time I've actually felt like a kid again. Already planning our 2nd visit so we can stay longer.

I can't believe how much better this one is compared to the one in Hollywood. In the Hollywood ride, you leave with closure because the curse is lifted. But not only does Orlando's break the fourth wall of the ride TWICE, but you leave without that sense of closure. "It's fake! No, it's real! It's a ride! Now it's not! Thanks for riding! Brendan Fraser just died!"

Without an actual ending, it tells you that Imothep basically escaped the story of the 'ride' and is out there in the real world.

I had no idea what to expect when we got on this in September. Rode it 3x. Ended up in the front row by chance all 3x. We ended up buying our ride photo. The look of pure of terror our faces at the final drop is priceless.

Hands down one of the best rides i have ever been on. The start is pretty scary, but when the ride gets going, it's probably one of the funnest rollercoasters out there. If you go to Orlando then you MUST go on this, you will not be disappointed. (When i rid it everyone was just screaming wooooooooooooooo.)

Shawnice Lawrence same and my mom forced us to go on it, i was really young and didnt know what it was and i was so scared but i kept quiet everybody was screaming their heads off, even my mom scared but i was silent yet terrified and when the fire part came on I thought they wrre gonna cook us AILVE. I thought everything was real and my bow almost flew off but i managed to hold it never went on it again

Absolutely love this ride!! I am personally not a fan of drops on roller coasters at all, and I will ride this over and over again. The coaster part of it is not bad at all, drops are minimal.. I would only suggest not riding if you like to see where you are going the whole time. Definitely do not miss out on this ride... you will regret it!
Also, the part where you go backwards isn't terribly scary, I promise. Its just pretty dark but you don't get the falling feeling on Mummy.

I️ was scared cause of the theming of it. But I️ was sooo excited because of the coaster part. And when the coaster part came, let me tell ya! It was so much fucking fun! I️ told my mom I want to do it again and again. We only did it 1 more time but it was so much fun. Definitely my favorite ride at universal studios Orlando by far.

HANDS DOWN, THE BEST RIDE IN UNIVERSAL!!!!! I usually watch CZcams clips of everything before I go to a park but decided I wanted to be surprised. BOY WAS I SURPRISED! This ride is sooooooo much fun. There are about 3 big drops that totally catch you by surprise and the REAL FIRE and scary mummies are THE BEST! After I got off I wanted to get RIGHT BACK ON! This ride is the best. Made my entire day at Universal!!!!

This ride seems lit! I've only been on the Hollywood one when I was 7 and closed my eyes the whole time. I'm going this coming Monday to the Hollywood one again and I'll sure go on it and open my eyes the whole ride.
I went here with my senior class & this was the highlight of our night. The fire is extremely hot & the right is really intense. In my opinion, it's seriously worth the wait!

I hate animatronics but I've definitely come to love these ones. First time- scared to absolute death. Second time- scared to death. Third time- scared. Fourth time- Revenge of the Mummy becomes my favorite ride at Universal Studios and I definitely want front row left side every time that I ride it from now on.
I live about 2 hours away from universal and this is by far one of the best rides. I've been to universal/Disney about a thousand times and every time I go I get amazed by how well structured this ride is. It's and indoor roller coaster and by watching it on a screen and experiencing it in real life is two completely different things. I would 100% recommended this ride to everybody
I remember how I rode this when I was like 10 and was terrified when the mummies started walking towards me. My older sister insisted that we go on it again but I was already scarred for life (at least I thought). Now that I think about it, this seems like a pretty cool ride.

Best rollar coaster there! Worth the wait, even if it was a super long wait it would be worth it! I hate rollar coasters but this one was EPIC! I love the fire effect, the fact that there are only like 4 screens each for like .5 seconds, and the launch! Highly recommend.

I went on this ride with my cousins, aunt and uncle. It was literally the best ride, I passed out for the first time riding on this ride. The drops give me screams that can lead me to have no voice. But it was the best ride one of my favorites gdjxgdjd.

about a year ago I saw this roller coaster, my dad wanted to go on it, he said since it was indoors, that it should be a calm ride, boy was he wrong, at first it seemed fine, but then I saw that the rail was going up, I panicked and when we reached the top, I screamed as we went down ESPECIALLY when we went backwards.

I went to Universal Studios twice (a few summers ago, and in November of this year, 2019.) The first time I rose The Revenge of The Mummy, I INSTANTLY wanted to ride it again. Then when I came back this year, I rode it twice like it did a few years ago. I bought a kitty as a little souvenir/remembrance of the attraction and I can’t wait to go back to ride it again!!!!

Ok so i went on this ride today and i thought it was going to be fun and not scare me at all. So i get half way through the corridors and start freaking out. My whole family was with me so i could not back out. I went on the ride and thought the ride was going to scare the poop out of me. It was fun but the mummy dude with the blood ans stuff freaked me out. I loved when we went down the hill :D

Ikr I went on it this past wensday it was amazing! I went that day to the park with my mom, aunt, uncle, 8 year old boy cousin, 11 year old brother and I'm 10 and a girl. Guess who went on the ride? My mom,aunt and me! I've never screamed that hard on a ride ever in my whole life. And after the ride stopped I was in totally stunned about how scary it was that I started to cry😭. Hour latter considered it to be my favorite ride out of universal and island of adventure. And I rode every ride almost because I went their for 4 days!!!😆😆😆😆😆😆

When it goes to the part where it says, "Your souls are MINE!" and "PREPARE TO FALL FOR YOUR SOULS!" I always scream "BUT I DON'T HAVE A SOUL!"
Edit:When you go to the part that has the roaches, do you ever feel like you'll even have the tiny little drop? It feels like minutes until you drop.

Man, I cried on this roller coaster and still get laughed at till this day (I thought I was actually going to hell). It truly is one hell of a ride! 😈

Alex Dumont No, 3-4. The biggest ones, the main 2, were about 20 ft but there were still some drops aside from it not as big

Even though I only love Universal Studios Hollywood I have to be honest the mummy ride in Florida is better but I still enjoy the one in Hollywood its amazing

I went on this last year (my FIRST roller coaster!) here's my reaction:
My dad asked me if I'd like to try a roller coaster and I was all like "oh yeah, it's not gonna scare me!" And me, my uncle, dad, and cousin stepped in and right when we got in I was saying "NO I DONT WANNA DO THIS!" And "DADDY PLEASE IM SCARED!!!" And my dad said "there's no turning back" while my cousin said "AW YEAH! IM READY!" And we got the front and I was screaming "OMG DADDY GET ME OFF HERE AHHHHHH!!!" While holding onto his arm about to pee myself (life lesson: go to the bathroom before riding a roller coaster!) and I hit my back on the seat during the bug part and during the picture:

I'm a huge fan of rollercoasters, and I really enjoyed all of the rides at Universal Studios
Definitely one of the best rides at Universal Studios! I truly didn't expect all of the dips and turns, but it was appreciated!!! Loved it! I can't wait to visit again!

As a Floridian I’ve been to Universal more times than I can count and this was always one of my favorites. I will be really sad if thy ever take it out! So much fun :)
This ride is HILARIOUS. When it starts to move fast in the dark and the wacky Egyptian chorus is singing in the background and everyone is screaming. omg it made me laugh so hard. Rode it a hundred times.
