Frantically trying to figure out a way to fix this, and you were the only one with a video of the same issue, Thanks so much for putting out your knowledge and it helped with my issues!
Thanks to to the video i figure out my issue...the problem was a clogged hose making my valve act like if it was stuck open sounding just like yours..thank you for the explanation
Dang cold weather & moisture in the air lines anyway. Glad you were able to take care of the issue on the ol' Freight Shaker. Hope you & your family have a Happy New Year.
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin I don't know if the ice could be seen in the valve, inside, and little chunks of shit, like pepper, in the spring section. It wasn't closing completely. The dam compressor has been next to junk for the 6 years I've driven it. Oh well, it's going for now.
@@martinbenton742 but.. the ice shouldn't affect it if it's already closed... The governor on the pumpkin sticks sometimes.. it just won't let it build pressure.. couple taps and it's good for a month...but someday....
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin it wasn't completely closed. The bit of ice and chunks of crap were holding it open a bit. I didn't know that until I took my glove off and held my hand back there.
@@martinbenton742 in order for the steam to freeze before reaching the air dryer, the hose must be too long. In my own practice of truck driving the freezing point is formed (if it happens) in the air dryer.

Thank you Ron. Happy New Year to you also!
Hey Doc, hope you had a good Christmas, damn cold weather creates problems that we just shouldn’t have to deal with!! Have a good week!! 👍🍺👍🍺👍🍺👍
Thank you Wade. They are talking about 3-16 inches of snow tomorrow. Lol. Maybe a week sitting on my tractor moving snow. Time with tell. Lol
good job brother ,, I hope your work will finish quickly and make it easier ...
keep the spirit of the improvement ... have a good day ...
Thank you! Fairly simple fix.
That’s a safety valve, the unloader valve is inside the air compressor w/ o rings.
I had the same issue last week. My truck had to thaw out in the shop
Cold weather 🙁...it’ll show you all your issues 👍🏻. Happy New Year
That is surely the truth! Lol
Figured it was a frozen line... Otherwise the pop off shouldn't pop.. but,... Thanks for the video Doc!! And the mention👍
Thing is, it isn't that cold. Lol. Last year it did the same thing. Cleaned up the dump valve and away it went.
Who knows. It's ready for Tuesday.
@@martinbenton742 long as she's really to roll, all good 👍😎

I have a friend who’s compressor would freeze up. He drove for another guy. I think he used that to sleep in, lol!
Lol!
Damn cold weather makes it's fun !🤬
Ya, it's net even that cold. Pieces of "pepper" in the unloader vavle spring wouldn't let it close completely. Dam thing pumps as much oil as air.
What’s the name of that part and where does it locate
It's a dump valve. Located on the engine side of the head.
Yep, cold air and moisture don’t mix.
Right. The worn out thing pumps as much oil as air.
Are you still hauling blood and guts from the packing plant
Yes. From different pickup points in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Guts, blood, grease, and whole bodies.
I made it here Doc
Just in time!!!!! LMAO!
Great to see you on this end. Lol
Stay safe and warm my northern friend!
G'day Doc
Howdy Murphy!!! How are you all doing?
@@martinbenton742 We are doing good thanks Doc
I think it was an airdryer frozen
It was froze from this valve into the dryer. Happens every winter because the company didn't do any dryer maintenance for this truck.
