The patch 1.04.5 improves stability, fixes animation issues and collision detection, along with touching up numerous textures and adds some new features to GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas. @@tyrus_kittWhy would you? There's the obviously better option of playing the originals on PC with some very easy to install fixes that just elevate the game to heights even the PS2 (or in case of GTA III, the XBox) doesn't reach.
However if you must be a purist & play vanilla the PS2 releases are the least flawed option.
Trilogy DE is like at the bottom of all the versions that exist, closely followed by the mobile port that's incidentally done by the same company before Wardrum Studios got acquired by R* & was renamed to Grove Street Games...

It's still quite impressive how not definitive the definite edition was.
Finally the definitive edition is becoming somewhat better. GTA SA suffered the most, at first. It's good to see it getting the attention it deserves.

This is already 20 years ago in the OG games, is not new, just that they is lazy and launched a trash edition, cut many things and NOW that patch the games to deliver us things that already has (or was, i don't know much English XD) in the OG games lol.

In the old GTA 3 I would use the cinematic view during cop chases and if the cop stays close to you from behind the camera will actually switch to the cop's point of view chasing you. It was mainly good for 2 star wanted chases because they're not really aggressive but they don't go away.

It's amazing, the attention to detail, they put into the originals, compared to the remakes. It's actually sad to think how Rockstar Games allowed this to get released, in such a buggy state. I still haven't purchased the "definitive" collection, & I'm not so sure if I will anymore. It's taken, almost 2 years, to get all the bugs out, & they still haven't fixed everything. 🤦🏽♂

When things become invisible it tries to load the high detail model which doesn't exist.
When the backside is invisible it's called backface culling and is common in video games.
I still hate how I can see mt. chiliad from grove street, along with at certain areas see all 3 cities. It makes the map feel small.

That's why you need an Xbox, so you can easily purchase the physical editions and play them right away or play them if you already own all of them like it's my case. That's why Xbox leads over PlayStation on backwards compatibility, GamePass and real sense of community within it's ecosystem 😉

Not only that, they must add new weapons like bullpup, m60, grenade launcher, p90. they must bring back the two player mode in console . There must be rampages in San fierro, Las venturas and in countryside. Defective edition is a bust for its price smh
This was the game that made me realize i need to watch a review before buying. So glad im playing baldurs gate 3 now i was so pissed off when i first played this game. It makes me super sad too as i would love to enjoy the originals.

That's why I prefer the modded original PC versions, you can even make San Andreas the PS2 port it always should have been.
Low draw distance and fog made the original versions so big with great atmosphere: Liberty City was a kind of tiny Gotham City, Vice City a Miami Vice episode, and San Andreas countryside a prelude to RDR Undead Nightmare.
Imagine Silent Hill 1 without fog an farviewdistance

This is all stuff fixed within the first few months though, these games still have so many issues in Rockstar hasn't given a patch to them in nearly a year! In fact the patch mentioned in the video description is from a year ago lol - Rockstar doesn't care about completely fixing this game
They should really add a function so that you can switch between the atmospheric Ps2/xbox/PC/and remaster versions. Ps2 really were the best in that aspect, despite having the lowest quality.
Ps2 atmosphere is actually caused by ps2's graphics limitations

I’m glad I didn’t rush to get these games when they first dropped. Even as excited as I was I waited a long time and I still am cuz I really wanna enjoy playing these old games again without wanting to throw it in the trash.

I think what I despised about the Definitive edition the most were how they messed up characters and the protagonists. The Vanilla games didn't have that detailed version but still the Tommy and CJ looked sharp and had an appearance of their own. Tommy just looks completely different and they went full on black with CJ

I would say that he is Bruce Almighty.
The team of them should split in three groups.
1 group for GTA III
2nd group for GTA Vice City
And the 3rd group for GTA San Andreas. So atleast they won't tired fixing everything in one instead fix it one by one by exploring the original version (both console and PC) of the game to find out what to fix and what's wrong. Also hope they keep continue improving this game in all consoles. Especially the lower one (switch) which needs a better frame rates.

My only complaint in this remaster is for them to bring back the original mini games of dancing, lifting weights, and lowrider competition. They replaced it with those not satisfying mini games 😞
The good thing is they brought back the cinematic camera, and button mashing when pedaling a bike or BMX..
i notice while playing if you peddle on the bike and turn your camera side on cj's back/ stomach is all messed up i hope they fix that

Waouh j'ai bien fais d'avoir commencé le jeu récemment, j'ai pas traversé tous ces bugs.. ce qui m'étonne le plus avec le dernier patch, c'est les potos qui s'enfoncent dans le sol après une collision 😂
Les poteaux je comprend pas pourquoi ils ont changé leur collision.. mais concernant tout les autres bugs , au moins ils en ont corrigés et ils ont pas laissé le jeu traîner sans patch.. mais il reste encore à faire.. mais je suis curieuse.. vous avez rencontré des problèmes ? En tout cas moi je sais que je ne l'achèterais pas et j'ai déjà GTA 5 ça me suffit

Un seul en particulier, un bug qui a fait disparaitre ttes les voitures à l'exception des voitures et motos de police, j'ai dû recharger une sauvegarde précédente.. hormis ce petit soucis, le jeu est plutôt jouable et c'est plutôt agréable d'enfin finir cette trilogie GTA que je n'ai pu terminer sur PS2, moi j'aime bien :)

There are a couple of reasons why this game isn't up to the players standards with the level of quality we need. 1, the definitive edition was not developed by rockstar games. It was made by Grove Street games, a mobile games company they just switched ports and did some little tweaks to the game but other things must have been removed or something I don't know? 2, the pandemic must have something to do with how we work in the same area limiting production on games now. Example is cyberpunk when it got released.

@@kraken5003 exactly, they even don't bored to fix the PS3, XBOX 360 and Mobile versions as well, these two console version is HORRIBLE, i have a 360 and i can't pass the "Learning to Fly" mission, cuz it CRASH. Trash versions, the mobile have a advantage that he can support mods, so you can make a version to be similar to the classics, still it's bad versions.
And these patchs of the Defective Editions is nothing lol, still have many things out of the place, trash characters models that they will never fix, many cut things as well, the new bugs that is not completely fixed, collisions is bad. These versions make me appreciate even more the classics.

I only messed around a little bit with the original trilogy when I was younger so I've been enjoying playing through all 3 in full for the first time even if they aren't perfect.

Would anybody happen to know if they fixed the bird sound affects at the docks in GTA 3? The original had seagull sound affects when near the docks making it feel more realistic, but the definitive got rid of that.

Sorry to change subject but some people complain about numerous anachronisms in Definitive Edition games, like GPS in GTA VC (set in 1986) and GTA SA (set in 1992). Maybe these anachronisms were supposed to suggest that Definitive Edition games take place in alternate reality?

This Much better then before this Game starting to have that 2004 release feel to it. In terms of Playability. But also has more modern day graphics.
Maybe they strategically planned to put different bugs on three of the games so we could notice them and give the definitive edition a little more fame than expected.

I rather play normal for gta san Andreas but they did gta 3 alright kinda by making the atmosphere a little more foggier and the render distance looks fine cause most of the big buildins you see are just across a bridge but in gta sa u can see mount chilliad from grove st like come on they also did the vice city version pretty well too the skies colors with the orange lioks fantastic alsot eh lights are amazing they did mess tommys face a lil and hes does look a bit fatter but its fine
GTA modder here: the traffic lights falling through the ground is because they messed up the collision. Ergo, when being hit, the collision disappears making it fall.

How could you say the rain became more realistic while there's no splash at all?
In GTA SA, hands have a fixed animation, so that all guns using both hands are correctly held, so camera also got same treatment, if it was a unique weapon type then different animation would have been used and then it could have been fixed, but lazies are lazies, nothing they did to fix now, bot I am not complaining, I still stand by the fact that they used the dam'ed mobile port fot it, so it remains defective edition, it shall never be definitive at all, hope the 30 year anniversary will be good even if I have no expectation to get one either, if I can than I myself am making it as I like, but not gonna publish it

I have played the Xbox 360 backwards compatible San Andreas on Xbox one and it has so many bugs glitches crashes. Now I said screw it and got a PS2 off eBay and am currently playing San Andreas OG and I'll never wanna go back..... Or forward

I still found some bug, and other thing on the new version of the gta sa definitive, like the vigilante mission is always error like when I was on lvl 11 the mission is started to error, the timer is still running but the target is not spawned

I have the originals and definitive on steam. I prefer the DEFINITIVE. Exactly the same game just better to look at and MUCH better camera/gameplay controls, making a HUGE difference.
