Would you buy the M1 or the M2 in 2024? Or if you have one - I'm curious to hear your experience - which will benefit everyone watching this video....
? Do you mean typing what other people are saying ? If yes, the M1 should be more than sufficient if you are looking for good value for money!
I have a 16/256 M1, and I love it. 720p is fine for video conferencing.
I just got a used M1 with 16GB/512GB for $765, excellent condition besides the worn keys which I replaced myself for $20. Battery is at 86% but it’s till 3x better than my old windows laptop at less than half the weight lol.

My wife just had to make that choice last month; since it was time to move on from her '08 iMac. And for her, the choice was easy. She's a light user--email, browsing, You Tube, shopping, writing. The M1 did everything she needed for much less than the M2; $750 vs. $1000 for the M2. And she loves it to death. There's no reason to think it won't serve her well for another 10 years or more. First of all kind regards from Mexico! Then I must say that I really like this video and share with you that I got my brand new MacBook Air M1 base config to replace my old MacBook Air 2017 base config for tasks like web browsing, media consumption, emails, programming in C, Python and R for Data Science. So basically all the different tasks a student would do in a laptop. By my side I don't really do video editing or photo editing either. I bought it on December 2023 in Costco online store for just $680 because there was a really great offer there. So it's just perfect for me!

Hey great video and great channel. I am getting m1 for 60k from vietnam and m3 for 90k. I wanted to know if the media experience is different on m3 compared to m1 and if the Apple AI features will be available on m1
Hello, thank you for the kind words
- per apples website any MacBook Air with M1 or later is supported for Apple AI
- when you say media you mean watching stuff? The m3 definitely has a better 4 speaker set up and can do Spatial Audio. But for the price difference I’d say the m1 sounds pretty decent. I’d suggest you see if you can go into a shop and demo one to get a sense?

Hi! So there are 2 factors - processing power (in which case M1 and M2 are both great - no perceptible difference for the average coder). BUT you need to check if the tools/software you are using has been made compatible with the Apple M1/M2 Chips - most mainstream ones are (Java, Standard IDEE etc) but some smaller specific versions may not !
I’d love to take m1 but planning to keep it for 10 years. Would you recommend m1 for that much of longevity?

10 years is a long time - Apple doesn’t give a timeframe so I can’t give you a fact backed answer. MacBooks last a long time so in that sense it should be fine. But if you are making a 10 year investment - divide the price of both the M1 and the M2 by 10 and think about the difference on a yearly basis - it’s not much :)
And if you can wait one month for the M3 to launch - both should get even cheaper !

I am just starting out my content creation, and video editing journey. I want to become a content creator and video editor, and want something that i can use for long term. I am confused between Macbook Air M1 16 GB RAM, and Dell G15 i5 with RTX 3050. Which one should i go for ?
I haven’t used the Dell model you mentioned so can’t speak to that, but the M1 should work great for video editing! 16 GB is good and I’d get at least 512 GB SSD .

Actually I have already ordered M1 MacBook Air 7 days ago, and as they have launched M3 Macbook Air today, M1 has gotten cheaper, and probably I will be getting the refund of the price difference (of around 121 dollars). Please help, if I should cancel my order of Macbook Air M1, and order M2 with 256 GB and 16 GB RAM? The price difference is 121 dollars! I have just graduated and want to spend wisely!
My main reason for buying a macbook is performance and video editing, I want to know if its really slower than the Macbook Air M1 as many people claim!
I just skipped the plan of buying MacBook as my budget qualified M1 for now however 13 inch screen did not convince me enough to go with it with such a huge price tag.😅

After almost listening to many people on YT I haven't heard anyone saying anything negative about Macbook Air M1 as it is a beast, was a beast and will be a beast, M2+256 is trash, M3 any variant doesn't differ much unless and until u wanna save those extra 10mins M1 takes, so M1 is a go to option.

Hello. As I mentioned in the video - I do think its a great value laptop that works absolutely fine for everyday tasks. Macbooks generally stand the test of time (Till last year I was still using the one I bought in 2012!). The processor difference is imperceptible, the ports are very similar, and the designs on the outside are difference but both are nice. The main way to compare is the price difference (especially if you are planning to take advantage of the deals/offers) vs. the genuine improvements (do you care about the webcam? Do you care about the bezels being thinner - enough to justify the price?). The good part is these things are quite easily testable by going into an Apple store and checking it whats on the outside. I think given you are a light user, what's on the inside is not going to make any difference to you:) Hope this helps - let me know what you decided to do!

@@akshay.goenka thanks for elaborating all key factors about m1 air. Well i am so confused because i need a laptop to watch movies, youtube, and should last longer more than 5-7 years.
But some of my friends said, get a new one that last long and new m3 is better than m1 in terms of warranty and OS support. Thats why i am confused. 🫤

@@salujanaman05 but it had a glitch also, i got first order at 65k with hdfc 5k deduction later they removed the offer and seller cancelled my order also
256 gb is the main issue. It’s too low. Unless and until you are only surfing or working with small files.
@@aryantawte3438 i do full stack android and be fe, unreal engine also fo game development, ok for me, using cloud and external ssd for other stuff (which is very minimal for guys like us 😂) i would say 8gb ram is more of a bummer for me🥺, but i was on a tight budget so that was the best option
