Great reading vlog! One note though: the stress in Yaga is on the last A :)
Fun fact too (if it wasn't in the book) is that the myth of the house on chicken legs came from the death rites. The people did not bury their dead, but instead built houses in the woods on high legs so they survive floods, and in there they put the bodies. You can imagine how stumbling on one might make an impression 😅
Lol thank you, I just googled the pronunciation and now I’m just giggling at how I said it 🤣 the book doesn’t explicitly explain the connection of the house on chicken legs to death rites, however that theme is definitely present within the story
@@SarasBooked Oh, don't worry, every English speaker says it this way. It's most likely because in English we usually stress the first vowel of the name :) But then "babUshka" is actually supposed to be "bAbushka" (granny), so I don't even know xd
Hi again!
So I was doing dishes while watching your March video and then I moved on to this video to keep the good vibes rolling and had to make another comment, LOL.
Read Kiss Her Once For Me in December and I thoroughly enjoyed it - think it was 4 stars? 4.5? Hope you can make time for it this December!
Lol I love that 😂 that one is definitely high up on my winter TBR
