I prefer the term "double tap". Idk why so many anime characters don't use powerful moves twice, they use it once and freak out if it doesn't instantly kill the villain 😐 like... Just use it again.
@@PrettyGothBoi6085 Except for Vegeta's self destruct move,
Lmao almost 3 times the first one was a prank
@PrettyGothBoi6085 At least for Dragon Ball, the usual reason is that they already expend a lot of energy just firing a finishing move/"ultimate" once. Piccolo using the Special Beam Cannon, Goku using the IT Kamehameha, Gohan using the Father-Son Kamehameha, Vegeta using the Final Flash, etc all use up maybe 30% - 50% of their total Ki reserves. Even more, and you get into Final Explosion ranges of energy output that can easily kill the user.
So since your energy output is limited by how much energy you have total, it's better to dump, say, 40% of your reserves into one attack to break through your opponent's defenses than it is to fire off two attacks that use only 20% of your reserves which end up getting guarded equally as much each time.
Or in a purely mathematical environment, an attack that uses 40% of your total Ki against an opponent that can block 15% of your total Ki output has them take 25% of your Ki output to the face, while two attacks at 20% of your total Ki would both get blocked by the same amount and end up at only having 10% of your total Ki go through.
This is also why Ki blast spamming against an opponent stronger than you never really works out. If they can block up to 5% of your total Ki output, then it's better to fire off one beam using 10% of your total Ki reserve (maybe a Super Kamehameha or a Big Bang Attack) than it is to spam a bunch of sub-1% Ki blasts their way that don't even dent their posture. Of course, you _can_ still distract them or hit them in a weak spot with a couple of well aimed Ki blasts to open them up, but that leans more into fighting skill than it does raw Ki mathematics.
I mean, is this really suprising? GT's whole M.O. is:
*"Great idea, mostly terrible execution."*
most of GT's execution is perfectly fine, it's just a lot of the viewerbase of dragon ball goes into GT while wanting something that isn't what GT was trying to be.

My thoughts is that the one in the anime was simply to taunt omega, to show him that gogeta could kill him at ANY point. @@Monkeylighthouse U're talking about the old games brother , false comparison . Old games created the attack with dbz Vegito and it looked miles better than the attack of anime dbz Vegito. @@firechargeogname "The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak."
I mean to each their own but in my opinion, compared to other big finishing moves, this one just really wasn’t well animated. I would’ve liked it if maybe they changed up the angles every once in a while, or if Omega was moving instead of just standing still waiting for it to hit him twice in a row. Also if there was an actual beam that released instead of the move just releasing spicy blue air in Omega’s general direction. Now is it the worst ever? No. But does it rank very highly on the DB finishing move tier list in terms of impact and animation? I don’t think so
@@PoxFilmsActually thanks for making me check since i thought this dude was only coping in comparison to dbz where Vegito's finisher is way worse but , turns out he's dishonest to the core and fooled u and many others by not actually showing the attack . No he in fact doesn't only throw wind on Omega but that's only the beginning of the attack its air pressure or something , followed up by a deep blue covering Omega which is not shown in this , funny how i subconsciously just ignored that the first time .
@@ramstorm1728 I’ve seen the original too man. That beam is barely a beam. The blue blast that releases is only for a couple seconds and it’s instantly covered by those random close ups that they didn’t even fully cut too. You have given absolutely no defence towards the poor animation or lack of impact from the attack. The drama from an attack comes from the movement of the characters, the framing of the scene and the movement of the camera. They made the attack in only one kind of shot instead of mixing it up and making the scene interesting. Different angles, more movement from the characters, dynamic shots and a more impactful attack would’ve made the scene look wayyy more interesting. I’m not making the same points as the guy in the video, I can form my own opinions, but I do agree with him on the opinion that this is one of the worst finishing attacks in Dragon Ball history terms of style, flair, animation and impact. But again everyone is entitled to their own opinions so if you disagree with that, that is totally fine.
Tbh it kinda looks dope and kinda makes sense since its a combination of the big bang amd kamehameha not another generic kamehameha beam(full force kamehameha gets a pass tho) It's like gogeta spawned a big bang and exerted the force of a kamehameha onto it so much it's explosive power turns into a massive energy shockwave that obliterates anything, but ay that's just me
@@FluppietheRockruffFan It's not just this smarty pants dude cuz if we called this bad Super Vegito's finishers in dbz were literal nothing , games improved the quality of just about everything in anime as they did to Vegito's big bang attack not only graphically but in some like kakarot changing it down to its shape making it completely unrecognisable from anime , let alone giving him final kamehameha a completely game original even in name .
VB's spinning icecream looking final kamehameha doesn't look special for modern animation either while it doing nothing to Zamasu it's not only graphically upgraded in games but VB is given way more additional stuff like giant spirit sword slam way bigger than anime where no slam with it happened either , then the blue aura punch that was nothing in every sense of the word yet is turned into a big attack or finisher in games .

@@giannivttr Literally , he already said he could beat him with 1 finger . Omega already had a reputation of surviving finishers against expectations so he barely did it one more time .
Gogeta liked to fool around. This is why when he was about to do this attack for the 2nd time, it was going to actually be spectacular and crazy. But time ran out and the fusion broken. I believe what is depicted in the videos games is an accurate representation of what the movie would look like if Gogeta was not clowning around. We have not been bamboozald for over 20 years.
I don't think its them gaslighting us as it is more of them eternally apologizing for giving something scaled so magnificent a bunch of shitty budget frames. Especially since ever other iteration of this technique looks like a planet buster.
I am referring to the anime version because it makes sense. Big Bang is a ball and Kamehameha is a wave. Combined it’s a ball shooting out a wave of energy.
Dragon ball fighters and xenoverse nailed it
Vegeta also called Gogeta a clown after the defuse 😂
BB Kamehameha on games: absolute powerful blast capable of destroy planets.
BB Kamehameha on DBGT: Strong wind.

I honestly think I would look like that in the anime if it were animated today. All the games versions all have that same, kinda flowy wave coming off it instead of the normal cylinder beam that most beams have
They hated him because he spoke the truth
I always thought of it as a demonstration of perfect ki control.
I first watched it and when I heard Gogeta say "Big Bang Kamehameha", I was getting ready to see something truly epic. But once the thing fired off, I could only think to myself "Man, that was ass..."
The only thing that saved this move at all is the games that it was used in. You're 100% right about everything you said here rofl.
You gotta remember that this was made in the early 1990s. And the show wasn't even fully directed by the creator dragon ball also animators were just getting paid pennies and strings
Ikr, its honestly crazy how people are hating on it because of its looks
When it was literally made 20+ years ago with lower paid animators than z
Even IN GT, we had Revenge Death Ball, the Dragon Fist, Kamehameha ×10, Negative Karma Ball, Final Shine and Electro Eclipse Ball, Final Shine and the Universal Spirit Bomb.
The 3DS game Dragon ball fusions has a unique spin on this attack, where SSj4 Gogeta charges a sphere like a regular Big bang attack and then fires a kamehameha right into it. It actually looks like the combination of the two attacks.
That’s the blast, he didn’t need to use it. He only used some ki off of the blast.
That’s how powerful he is.
Like the spirit sword of vegito, it wasn't much of anything but the games made it awesome and now it's iconic and most likely in final kamehameha fashion, the anime or manga can repurpose the move to be like it's video game counterpart. Big bang kamehameha is a goated move.
In defense of gt, they were portraying gogeta to be so powerful he cant even be comprehended. So big bang kamehameha charges up instantly because hes that strong.
Gogeta GT In base is Goku SSJ4 + Vegeta SSJ4.
Now multiply that by SSJ4 (from 500x to 2500x), and u get SSJ4 Gogeta.
It was more like cold shower Kamehameha
I think it's because the show didn't know what to do for a beam in particular.
What’s crazy is legends made a x1000 big bang kamehameha but ngl it was KINDA mid considering the blast itself wasn’t all that lol. It’s a charge attack move where you keep tapping the icon to do ultimate damage starting from 100x 200x and finally 1000x. You can choose when to stop to troll or mess around with ur opponents.
it looks like one of those water hose modes
BD3's still has to be my favorite iteration of it to this day
I imagine it being more like a solar flare or solar wind and it just burning him to the atoms from the sheer might of the energy. Like radiation damage.
The problem of Gogeta SSJ4 is his goofy like Gotenks and wasted time pranking Omega Shenron with confetti also stronger fusion last shorter than base form ones. That's why they fusion at the moment they did that shot.
gogeta lirned form this he has rematch with oamga in heroes wehre he get the job down in one attack and the big bang ka me he me ha looks way bettter
the difference is that the anime used the normal Big Bang Kamehameha. The ones in the game that look that impressive are 100 times version and exclusive to the games.
Big Bang Kamehameha never meant to be a killer finisher as Gogeta never fought Omega Shenron seriously. He was like billions of times stronger and when Omega survived, Gogeta was about to release another one.
Kinda like how Final Kamehameha wasn't really a move from the series until Super came out and changed how it even looked. The original Final Kamehameha was yellow with blue lightning. The new one is a blue beam with yellow noodles around it.
So by that logic, ssj2 gohans kamehameha looked better, so it was more powerful?
Now let's bring up the Big Bang Kamehameha in Dragon Ball Heroes Anime
I remember loving this move thanks to BT3 and went on to watch the actual move on youtube. After that I was disappointed and never saw gogeta ssj4 as cool again.
Budokai 3 aged really well, it still looks good and it's quite fun to play
This is why I prefer Super Saiyan Blue Gogetas Big Bang Kamehameha in FighterZ
I just realized that this tenkaichi footage was from the 3 idiots. It’s good to know that they get around 😊.
GT had some good in it. 10X Kamehameha was pretty sweet, as is Baby's Revenge Death Ball. They used Goku's movie finisher the Dragon Fist which was epic, like seriously they need to bring that move into the main series. Even Vegeta's Final Shine is pretty cool as well.
But yeah I don't know why GT made Gogeta's Big Bang Kamehameha into an energy wave type of thing. It should have been a beam like how the games does it.
To be fair, that episode is old as hell so you cant really expect it to look that crazy
When the beams in Z looked 10x better years before, it really has no excuse besides experimentation with the style of beam, but even then, who in their right mind thought this looked powerful?

To be fair, all the new beam attacks in DBGT were buns. X10 Kamehameha at first was blue with 2 kamehameha merged together. Then it randomly become red, which I liked but it was basically useless. Then there was final shine attack which was also terrible. Then we have Big bang Kamehameha which also was bad. The only attack that ever looked good and was useful in GT was good ol' spirit bomb hahaha.
they could have made a Final-Kamehameha, Kameha-Flash maybe galaic-hameha perhaps even a fingerbang-flash
Much like a lot of things in GT. It was a cool idea, really badly executed. But it's become so iconic that you can't throw it away.
I love how funny DBFZ's take on the proper Big Bang Kamehameha is because its legit the fastest sequence that its a blink and you miss it, like speeding up the footage of the attack from the anime
Budakai 3 SSJ Vegito's ultimate Spirit Blade was just slightly stronger than the 100x Big Bang Kamehameha if I recall.
Budokai 3 really is what made it seem like a grandiose move. I remember how epic that game made it look and then when I watched the actual episode on Toonami, I was like “wtf was that….. where’s the beam” 😂
2:10 I say this everytime I do the move cause why not
The moment that the fusion was done when they tried big bang kamehameha, was exactly the same moment when Vegito tried to finish fused zamasu or mui goku tried to eliminate Jiren ...
I think it has not to do with getting gaslighted or anything....i just think that sth very common happened, the designers messed up the graphics and never decided to fix them up, or it was difficult to design the aatack at that moment in the anime...
Bro in the anime they defused before the Big Bang Kamehameha "exploded". The name says it all, it's a Big Bang Attack (a single ki "ball") but as a Kamehameha (wave). You could say is a big concentrated Kamehameha launched first as a ball and then the energy bursts out much more agressively than in a normal Kamehameha. But in the anime, the fusion time had shortened a lot because of how strong they were (kind of sacrificing fusion time in exchange for strength) so the ball stood there and never released the energy for real.

Artistic representation was lacking in that scene. But the games retroactively improve it. Really does seem like a scene was missing showing the full beam. Instead it looked like gogeta holding a powerful lamp in shenrons face.
He uses the Big Bang to Amplify the Kamehame Ha Wave, Also don’t blame GT blame the Animation Team
The only thing I have to add is that while yes, it does look pretty underwhelming in the GT anime, it was actually created by Vegito in the Buu Saga against Super Buu. Yes, it does appear different to how its portrayed by Gogeta in almost all other media, but the explanation that we were given is that Vegito's is more of a blast while Gogeta's is more of a beam. Thats a poor explanation, bjt its better than nothing I suppose.
Possibly, while they were trying to finish up GT (60/64 when ssj4 gogeta appears) they just referenced some notes from dbz and were like "yeah sure thats fine" but then later toriyama and toei were like "no, they need to be distinct" and made sure all instances of the big bang kamehameha going forward had a beam (not confirmed afaik just speculation on my part)
tldr Vegito made it first, and it looks like how Gogeta's does against Omega Shenron. Its possible the GT team just copied the design so they didnt have to make a new attack, but clearly Toriyama and Toei had other plans
@@beniyasha_higurashi Wow ur headcanon capabilities are really something . But Vegito's attack is big bang attack not kamehameha . And no Toriyama didn't say anything about being involved much in the later phases of GT .
@ramstorm1728 are you kidding? Big Bang Attack has always been Vegeta's and his alone. I also never said that Toriyama got involved with GT. I was implying after GT finished, so that should mean when dragon ball started getting revived with BoG and Resurrection F, which he did get involved with, and when Vegito and Gogeta both started getting more canon material. But also remember, I'm no expert on source material, I'm mostly going off of memory
Yeah, and Vegito's version of the Big Bang Kamehameha is the special move arts for the f2p base vegito in Dragon Ball Legends so that's one thing.
Almost like they couldnt afford the blast part of the move lol
Gogeta also had to do it twice, once wasnt enough. Great finisher GT
Isnt the point that he was pissing around during the fight the only time he actually goes to use a serious attack is when he splits apart if gogeta had wanted to he would have ended the fight in seconds ?
Its just another energy blast. Why do Dragon Ball fans either take everything way too seriously, or fail to comprehend the most basic events?
He addresses this: it isn't "another energy blast" because Dragon Ball media put it on a pedestal as one of the most powerful moves for two decades, but it's actual execution was lacklustre

for the record, you can like something and still be able to criticize it for its flaws.
Its not a beam its a flashlight. Plus omega is stated weaker than his finger and he survived it. Its mega underpowered.
When we were kids and consuming dbgt through untranslated clips downloaded off Kazaa, my brother and I called it "Kamehameha spray"
It’s not about how it looks kuz the Final Flash is beautiful but it doesn’t do shit it’s about the damage it does.
"Man, GT was underrated as hell! I'm a huge GT fan!"
You're not a GT fan, you like how the games transcribed GT into something better than it actually was😆
no, i'm a GT fan. just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's impossible for someone else to.
TRUE!!!
What does that make people who like Super Vegito from dbz who had even worse finishers so much that the games didn't have to only work on their quality but change it down to big bang attack's shape making it completely unrecognisable from the anime , AND give him a final kamehameha cuz in fact nothing he did was worthy of being called a finisher ?
U're not a dragon ball fan , u just have this warped reality disease where u worship other series while knowing nothing about what they actually are lmao .
Dragon ball legends js made the 1000x times big bang kamehameha 😭
@@jay_toldyou7041 Remeber Lf VB finisher in legends ? Try to find that in anime
@@ramstorm1728 u can find miterslly every hit from that in the anime
Section the ult and actual finisher both scenes are in the anime except the punch landing
Man is casually getting utterly cooked in the gameplay.
i dont forgive this slander.
@@diotechtips6804 It's disingenuous since dbz Vegito finisher in anime is way worse
@@ramstorm1728 The energy sword was awesome what you saying in is slander.
Thanks for this video! I've always thought this!
It absolutely helps that my first time seeing it was in Boudokai 3 lol
It's not worse than I remember. I thought it was dope back then and it's dope now lol
*Big bang.. Kamehame..!!!- - -* _pop!_ 💀
I would personally argue that Gogeta didnt hit him with the full brunt of the blast to avoid destroying the Earth(or the galaxy or the universe for that matter) and only hit him with shockwaves from it to be safe.
Always thought Ssj4 Gogeta's Big Bang Kamehameha looked like he was just shining the light/ki on Omega, not actually shooting it. This just made it funny to me, Omega having his eyes hurt from bright light lol
I don't care how it looks on the anime,if it looked anything like the other big, flashy beams i feel like it would be better maybe, i really liked the anime though and the beam
i always thought, it broke the dimension and it just sprayed the light and energy of that dimension break. because we see these ripples in space
I swear this is what I remember it was stuck in my brain that it was cooler than that
Remember Kamehameha from dragon ball evolution... this is that.......
WAIT TILL YOU SEE DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, GAVE HIM A WHOLE AHH 200× AND *ONE THOUSAND TIMES* BIG BANG KAMEHAMEHA IN THE SAME GODDAMN DAY, ON THE SAME UNIT 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I think this is a misunderstanding, the attack starts off as a really hot bright light from the focused energy, than it turns into a beam, which consumes omega shenron.
