    Q:What camera do you use?
    A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
    Q: How big Is your rotator?
    A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
    Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
    A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
    Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
    A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
    Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
    A: Currently more than 30
    Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
    A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral.

    Great job Trent. A few asked what the first set of chains were for. I explained that you have to chain the front axle prior to lifting the truck because it has an air ride system. Not chaining it up could and most likely would cause severe damage to the air bags.

    Damn, the salt on those Canadian roads must be brutal. That is a relative late model tractor and already the frame is pock marked by rust.

      Not just Canada in upstate NY our roads are covered in salt which just destroys the underside of cars. I had to retire my first car after the frame rusted so bad it became unsafe.

      I didn't realize that Trent's regular 35 ton has provisions for the safety chains built in to the back like the one Darl normally drives. I'm surprised he doesn't just have chains built in so he wouldn't have to retrieve them from the compartment.

    Great video. Have been watching your videos for a while. To answer people's questions about the first chain. It was to tie up the axle from stretching the air bags. My question for trent was about rear towing the tractor with the fairings. Did you end up going at a slower speed because of them?

    So what was that first set chains for?

    • @dandunning4409
      @dandunning4409 Před 5 lety +2

      If the truck has an air ride system you must chain the front axle prior to lifting the truck up. This will hold the axle up while you lift on the other axle. If you don't chain it up you could cause severe damage to the air bags actually allowing the axle to fall while your towing the truck. Most all semi tractors have air systems now. Again I hope Trent don't mind me awnsering this question or maybe he can explain it better.

    • @kappajohns5416
      @kappajohns5416 Před 5 lety +2

      Drive axles run air ride system. So its on airbags. when you lift the rear end up, the axles basicallly fall out in a way and can cause a lot of damage

    • @blueboats7530
      @blueboats7530 Před 5 lety +1

      The drive axles are designed to support a great amount of weight, but are not designed to "dangle" if the frame is suspended by the tow, the entire heavy assembly would flop around and damage itself. The rear axle is "clamped" by the underlift rigging but the forward drive axle needs to be clamped up too.

    What was that first chain even for?

    • @Chris-wh2gy
      @Chris-wh2gy Před 5 lety +1

      To secure the front axle up so the airbags don't hang down

    • @dandunning4409
      @dandunning4409 Před 5 lety +1

      You have to chain the front axle so it don't hang down and damage the air bags. He's picking up on the rear axle so that axle is taking all the weight. If you don't chain it prior to lifting the truck up the axle could rip free from the air bags and fall to the ground. Hope Trent don't mind me answering your question.

    • @leebarnes655
      @leebarnes655 Před 5 lety +1

      Neither need attention since the drive wheels aren't turning and there is no need for brakes with such a light load, the wrecker brakes can handle it entirely.

    • @Dust76tr

      I would guess not enough weight to need air brakes, and drive line doesn't matter as the driven axles are off the ground so nothing would be rotating in the driveline
