  • i put this short video together to try and help anyone dealing with condensation. I know exactly how annoying it can be! and now that I've been in and through the factory headlights and have seen how they are put together I thought that I could lend some insight into possible causes of condensation in your headlights.
there are a few common areas i cover in the video and those are
    1.rear cover caps
    2.module seals (underside of headlight)
3.housing, the actual housing of the headlight and the seal where the headlight body meets the lens)
    4. breather system, on the bottom side of the headlight you'll find a few breathers, make sure they are not clogged and are properly connected
    0:00 INTRO
    0:21 #1 problem, rear caps
1:12 2nd problem, modules on bottom of headlight
1:51 3rd check the actual housing itself
    2:46 4th headlight breather system
3:26 bonus material, why the ballast and led driver can fail
    4:19 overview and outro

I know it seems like I'm being rough on the headlight in this video especially the lens but please note it's covered in lamin-x and is fully safe.

That happened to me in my Acura TL, I ended up using epoxy to try and seal the cracked housing. Great video.

Epoxy is great for so many things! Love the TL vids btw.
How do you like the projectors in the TL? I know people love them and rate them as one of the best especially with a clear lens swap

@@96ej I have no complaints with the TL headlights, I actually put LED lights inside one of the TLs and they work even better. Those projector lenses provide such a great beam pattern

Constant autumn to spring condensation should not be related to rain or washing but just temperature difference and breather should take care of that but sometimes and in some models it probably doesnt shift enough air through itself which allows air temperature difference between inside and outside of headlight to last long enough for hot more moist air inside to condensate against coldest parts, that is the "glass". That broken tesla headlight probably didnt have constant winter condensation but only after carwash and rain?

First off welcome to the channel happy to have you! I know I've heard of some people taking their cars to the dealerships and the dealership basically telling them that this is normal. In my book this is not acceptable and super annoying.

That's a sweet color! Sorry to hear you keep getting condensation, the easiest thing you can try is to throw some desiccant bags in the back of the headlight.

I can't say I disagree with you, anytime someone recommends a good car I always tell them early 2000s Toyota Camry. In my experience there's not a single manufacturer without fault. For the most part I think Toyotas and Lexus are awesome cars but I had a terrible experience with my 99 4Runner. It was the best worst car I've ever owned if that makes sense LOL
