Prior to this race was the Azerbadijan Grand Prix which Perez won. According to Karun Chandhok, Jos Verstappen told that Max was fuming that 'Perez would never beat him again' after the Baku race. And indeed Perez didn't win a single race after Baku starting with the Miami GP.

I remember that race. No one and I mean no one defended their position against Verstappen. Every pass he made was unchallenged so of course he caught up to him.
The vid by rpm titled 'the moment when max verstappen became a monster' sums max's and checko's complete 2023 season brilliantly compounding over your final statement slide😅
that blistering lap in monaco came after this I think.. dutch Gp was good too if im not mistaken with that was the rain start on the inters and then the race went full wet before the first lap was over. perez did the optimal strat by coming in for full wets right away which gave him the big lead and verstappen still annihilated him
defending against Verstappen only compromises your race and eats tires. So logical nobody really defended. It has to be mentioned Verstappen took excellent lines during his overtaking, making a succesful defens almost impossible.
While that was a miraculous drive of max for sure, it’s also a bit frustrating that none of the midfield and even the „Non RB Top cars“ are putting up any defence just for the sake of it.
the exact moment max became a monster was in round 4 2023 baku when he lost to perez and when he went home he told his father that he will never let anyone pass him
I don't think they "put up no defense". It's just they knew he was faster. Why risk your race for someone that's young to pass you anyway. Clear speed differential. I don't want to get into it too much on this stupid comment.
Verstappen is an absolute monster, but to be fair to Perez I really don't like how modern F1 is all about managing your tyres, meaning no one will eve bother putting up a fight against Verstappen since it would compromise their tyre stint. It feels like a procession when no one even bothers even putting their elbows out like they would in the past.
It's actually crazy how he was able to overtake Sainz who had DRS too. Normally it's hard to get close when both cars have DRS. It's like the redbull has an extra DRS
The rear wing, beam wing and diffuser stalls when DRS is open, thus giving even more extra speed. They call this “triple DRS”, not necessarily mean their DRS is 3x more effective, 3 aero parts help reducing the drag, not just the rear wing.
It could also be Verstappen using the overtake button and Sainz not. Verstappen was also closer to Sainz than Sainz was to Russell so the slipstream would have been slightly stronger too
You might be that person who prefers to watch the race through the radio because you block the screen to explain in words what was happening on screen. That's weird!
Again with this stale narrative. Max didn't "break Perez's spirit". A man with a broken spirit does not fight back every race even with the amount of struggles he was having. Perez lost the grasp of the car due to upgrades moving away from him, and of course the utter dominance and skill of Max was a heavy load to withstand, but Perez just kept at it. He failed, but he tried, and that's the key. A broken spirit just ceases to try, like Albon, who cried, and Gasly, who raged, and Ricciardo, who ran away. Seriously, Perez should be given much more respect. He's the only driver who has managed to beat Max on pure pace since Leclerc in Austria 2022.
With such a car and regulations that allow overtaking, and on the track where it can be done, I think it's quite normal. Do you remember the Hungarian Grand Prix 2021? Lewis broke through from the last place to 2 (3, but after Vettel's disqualification was 2) On a track where it is difficult to overtake. So I think Max most likely could have won even from the last place.

The only guy that takes the time to analyze what many of us don't even notice in the race?
This guy is a legend, in my mind. Most "F1" channels are pure gossip and bs, IMO.
I remember that race. No one and I mean no one defended their position against Verstappen. Every pass he made was unchallenged so of course he caught up to him.
the sorry state of formula 1 today - drivers not even bothering to defend.
Thanks for the video, however a small note: maybe an idea to not use the solid rectangles for the comments? It really disturbs the flow of the video…
Your comments block too much of the screen - put the comments higher up??
Who wants to see Verstappen not in RedBull ?
We had “Through goes Verstappen” at 1:32 lol
Let me watch the fucking footage why is the text blurring and blocking the entire screen
WHY DOES NOBODY DEFEND, screw it ima stick with IMSA
The vid by rpm titled 'the moment when max verstappen became a monster' sums max's and checko's complete 2023 season brilliantly compounding over your final statement slide😅
Next time please make the text box bigger so I can only hear the sounds
345 km/h on straith.. like a game 🤙⭐️
If only there was a lap time chart or graph to depict what they were doing between lap 20 - 45
Well, this is a good start to the day.
This is the only time we've seen Max show his true power in this season. Maybe a couple laps in Dutch GP, too
that blistering lap in monaco came after this I think.. dutch Gp was good too if im not mistaken with that was the rain start on the inters and then the race went full wet before the first lap was over. perez did the optimal strat by coming in for full wets right away which gave him the big lead and verstappen still annihilated him
@@dco1019Perez spun in that race, that made him lose even more time iirc
defending against Verstappen only compromises your race and eats tires. So logical nobody really defended. It has to be mentioned Verstappen took excellent lines during his overtaking, making a succesful defens almost impossible.
can i ask where you get their throttle input?
MultiViewer i think
While that was a miraculous drive of max for sure, it’s also a bit frustrating that none of the midfield and even the „Non RB Top cars“ are putting up any defence just for the sake of it.
When you start the game on very easy mode.
the exact moment max became a monster was in round 4 2023 baku when he lost to perez and when he went home he told his father that he will never let anyone pass him
The big blue text boxes are infuriating.
Thts why max is called beast .. man he keeps clocking perfect lap on each lap..
It's like GT cars letting LMP1 goes. No one even bother defending and the pace differences too.
1:02 Ocon put 0 defense understandably 😭
Modern F1 - Where no-one bothers to defend.
you really gonna put up an opaque graphic for half the lap? Damn
The factor driver is important...
RB compared to other cars is like my Honda Civic and gt3 cars.
Red bulls DRS seems to just be so much more efficient than the others
would have watched the whole thing if the comments weren't blocking the action
here we go
Another legend drive from the goat
Why does the engine sound so much better?
A Jet pilot driving a jet
You would have a great video if the baloon boxes did not block the pictures
Bottas is the only one that caught for not defending against Max lol
I don't think they "put up no defense". It's just they knew he was faster. Why risk your race for someone that's young to pass you anyway. Clear speed differential. I don't want to get into it too much on this stupid comment.
Verstappen is an absolute monster, but to be fair to Perez I really don't like how modern F1 is all about managing your tyres, meaning no one will eve bother putting up a fight against Verstappen since it would compromise their tyre stint. It feels like a procession when no one even bothers even putting their elbows out like they would in the past.
this is like the "none of the kids want to play with me mom!!".
Sad that this race is just being acknowledged and is still under the radar for many...
I've always wondered, what is that super high pitched whine seemingly linked with rpm?
Gearbox
Bro drives how I drive in F1 2023 on easy mode. He's in a whole other league.
King of gamers not me. They're in macau 🎉🎉🎉
bro stop tickling my right ear
I wont ever understand why NO ONE put a minimum defense. If u see even only the 2010’s era, u will see that people fought back every time!
a little less with the overlaying text box would do wonders for your video's
Why you gotta cover the whole screen with the notes lol
3:05 that gearbox whine is mean
With such a car and regulations that allow overtaking, and on the track where it can be done, I think it's quite normal. Do you remember the Hungarian Grand Prix 2021? Lewis broke through from the last place to 2 (3, but after Vettel's disqualification was 2) On a track where it is difficult to overtake.
So I think Max most likely could have won even from the last place.
If I find anybody considering it possible for Red Bull to be slowing Checo down on purpose, come on. Who the hell would think that's even possible.
Makes it look so damn easy
The point to the number 1 when he was celebrating was an arrow to Perez’s heart
