    One thing to note on the MT12...for surface vehicles you need to go into the Radio Setup page and change the default channels from "TS" to "ST". If you don't, every new model you create will have steering on Channel 2 and throttle on Channel 1. After doing this, any new model you create will have proper channel assignment for a surface vehicle ("1 to turn, 2 to burn").
    I hope that more surface protocols get added to the MPM soon. Will be very nice to have one radio for all of my vehicles. Unfortunately, one protocol will not be available with the internal module. Flysky's ANT protocol is not compatible with the RF chip that is in the MPM. Most of the new smaller scale RTRs (Axial SCX24 V2, Furitek, Hobby Plus, FMS).

      @arminrc  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for the great comment! You are right, the ANT protocol is really missing (and so are the Sanwa protocols). May be the come later. Lets hope for the best.

    It's also a bit disappointing that the Radiomaster receivers have the issue with cutting out when the Tx and Rx are too close. Was planning to use the included Radiomaster Rx in my SCX24 comp rig, but had issues when testing on our indoor course. On an indoor, elevated course I found myself being too close to the vehicle when trying to navigate an obstacle. Signal would cut out until I backed up. Ended up taking that Rx out and throwing in an old Axial AX-3 Flysky-compatible Rx due to its relatively small size.

    • @arminrc
      @arminrc  Před 6 měsíci +2

      That's indeed a shame! In the good old days it was a problem if you where too far from the car and nowadays it is a problem if you are too close. Strange new world!🤨

    Just got finished struggling with binding my Spektrum DX5 Pro transmitter to a Spektrum receiver. I noticed you talked about being to close during binding. I had 3 cars act the same weird way when I bound them too close to the radio. The car would work just fine, until you started driving it. It would turn to the right when I started going. Re bound them and this time, went to the next room, and with each car, that method worked. Even had a similar problem with my NX-8 transmitter in my helis! They flew all weird when I bound them too close.
    I'm wondering if the telemetry would properly display on this radio from the Spektrum receiver?

      Thanks for the comment! I am glad the video was of some help to you. It is indeed weird that there is a problem if RX and TX are to close together while binding. I have never had this issues with my Spektrum stuff, though.

    VERY GOOD VIDEO!!!! I just ordered my MT12 (ELRS with a 4N1 module), and looking forward to what can be done with it. I think I am going to set up a tester board like you did for testing different configurations. One of the key things I want to do with this radio is to set up skid steer, do you have any tips for this?

    Hi, I've watched your other videos and they are really helpful! thank you!
    For this one, I am struggling to find any information on my receiver to use it to bind to the MT12.
    So I have some complete sets with receivers and they are aparently from Carson, which includes following names:
    Carson Reflex Wheel Start,
    Carson Reflex Wheel X
    Do you happen to know how I can bind those?
    The included RC85C works fine when I follow the video.
    Thank you!

    • @arminrc
      @arminrc  Před 11 dny

      Sorry, but this is the problem with this radio systems. No info about the used protocol. You could test the FlySky AFHDS2A protocol. Maybe it works. Sometime the receivers are just re-branded versions of the same receiver from another brand. Maybe you are lucky and find such a "duplicate" with more infos about the used protocol. I know that is little consolation, but I have kicked out all the "cheap" radio systems and replaced them with the MT12 and the right receiver for the right car (usually I use Rx from Radiolink, Spektrum and FrSky). Rx from Radiolink are quite cheap and perform really well (but they are a bit on the larger side).

    great video and great explanation. my question is ,i saw you bind to different brands and i am wondering just how to set the correct protocol and subprotocol for each brand rx. is it listed on the rx? i have a few traxxas and a few spektrum rxs which i would like to bind to 1 radio. setting protocol and subprotocols is my only problem before i purchase this radio.the navigation is pretty straighforward

    • @arminrc
      @arminrc  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thanks for watching! In the video I show for every one of the receivers what protocol and sub-protocol are used and how you do this. For your Spektrum Rx it depends on the protocol they use (DSMX, DSM2, DSMR). The Multi-Protocol-Module supports DSM2 (DSMR) and DSMX! For your Traxxas Rx there is the Traxxas protocol. Please check out the list of supported protocols on multi-module.org.

    Hi. I’m the one who asked you about the 10ch Dumbo rx. So it seems that the 4in1 can’t control channels 9 and 10 on the 10ch Dumbo rx. I believe you said that you was going to order this receiver to see things for yourself. I hope you can find a way around this.

      Can the gyro at least be controlled? Can the gains be set up/down for channels 1 and 2? Can priority be adjusted?

    • @arminrc
      @arminrc  Před 4 měsíci

      Well, it seems that this is currently not possible. The problem is, that every manufacturer can use whatever commands they see fit to control the gyro. For the Radiolink Rx (R6FG for example) you can use channel 8 to "deactivate" it. But for the FlySky Rx there is currently no way to do it. In order to have control over the gyro you would need to know all the commands a FlySky Tx is sending to the gyro. This you can only retrieve with "reverse engineering" and this is a very time consuming process (given that you already have all the needed equipment for this). The best way of using the MT12 is to make sure, that the used receivers do not have a gyro installed (yes, I know this doesn't help if you already have a lot of such Rx).

    How do you use radiolink telemetry on mt12.

    • @arminrc
      @arminrc  Před 17 dny

      Not all Radiolink Rx have telemetry. The R7FG for example has a dedicated voltage sensor port and can transmit the voltage back to the Tx. On EdgeTX / the MT12 you can see all the sensors in the telemetry page. Maybe you must do a search for new sensors to the the data.

    I've had this radio since its launch and it's a fail. I love OpenTX but this radio's 4 in 1 protocol wont pair with any of my receivers. I also have the issue where the radio can be too close to the Radiomaster receiver and breaks the connection because of signal overload.

    • @arminrc
      @arminrc  Před 3 měsíci

      Sorry to hear that. But obviously the radio is binding to a lot of Rx, at least my version of the MT12 (and I've heard from others too that they are happy with their MT12's). The close proximity problem of the MT12 is a shame, though, but there are a large number of alternate Rx out there.
