- In this video I take an in-depth look at the iPhone 7 in a modern context. The Apple iPhone 7 released back in September of 2016, and was the device that had many firsts for Apple - the iPhone 7 ushered in the no headphone-jack era of smartphones, the first waterproof and dust-proof iPhone, and the first iPhone with stereo speakers. I really enjoyed using this device for the past two weeks as my daily driver, and go over the reasons why in this review.

Still using a black 128GB iPhone 7. It’s doing great!!
sameee
Does yours crash during video calls?
Same here and working great, I just replaced the battery!
Same here man. Replaced the broken screen and battery once 4-5 months back.
@@PrathamBhatia And how is the battery life after replacement ? SOT without gaming ?
As someone who has never had an iPhone 7, I can confirm it's pretty good. Keep up the top-tier content king.
Thank you Mr. Kobilaski for the kind words
God such a brilliant review!!! Couldn’t do anything else until I watched the whole video, keep it up!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Nice review! I've had mine since Spring 2018 and think it still runs great, especially after replacing the battery. I thankfully don't experience any crashing with video calls and it generally runs really smoothly. Great phone!
This vid needs wayyy more views & likes. Good work man👍🏾
Thank you! 😊
This is a best long term review I’ve ever seen and that’s coming from someone who owned this phone twice
I just bought one a few days ago. It s working amazing ! The type with 128gb and matte black on the back.
The battery drains fastly i can say but is worth.
First time here, but I must say the quality of this channel is astounding! I hope you get the recognition and growth you've earned!
Thank you, appreciate it :)
Just got the 7 off the used market. Had the original SE since 2018 - very satisfied with it. Then got the Poco X3 NFC. A month later got the 7 off the used marked and made it my daily driver as well. The Poco has excellent battery but the iPhone has this cool vibe I like lol 😂 Nice video tho.
I got both of them too,
3 hrs Screen on time possible on iPhone 7?
I upgraded my work number using an iPhone 7 to an iPhone SE. That was a huge upgrade.
Same I got the iPhone SE 2020
I got the 12 mini, and I have no regrets. (Ex-iphone 7 user)
I plan on upgrading from an iPhone 7 32GB to an SE 2020 64GB on my birthday.
@@mintytoastclips omg I switched from an iPhone 7 to a iPhone 12 pro max back in April lol battery health is 100%

What an amazing video production congrats!
I like how you stick to the point until the end of the video video was quick and informational thank you I just bought my iPhone 7 about a week ago best review yet
I’m still using my 7 after I got it in 2018. Despite it having a short battery life, it’s still pretty good.
Here from Myanmar. I'm using iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB Jet Black since 2016 and the device is still rocking today. Damn Good. Apple is famous for a reason. I think it will still OK for use at least 3 to 4 years to come.
3D Touch is pressure sensitive so you don’t have to wait when opening secondary menus
Just finished watching this on my ip7.. I’m so glad that i’m not the only one, thank you for this video
Excellent vid. Well done!!
My favorite phone was my iPhone 7 Product Red. That red aluminum back looked amazing, even better than my current Product Red iPhone SE
Great review and video!
Just bought a gold 7 for my grandma and she loves it, plus I know software wise she'll be good for at least the next 2 years.
exactly what Im looking to do.
Exactly what I did
I just bought one cause I'm on a budget and I wanted to see if anyone else had one in 2021. I'm so stoked to see that people do indeed have it in 2021 n are using it. this was a great video I am glad I made my purchase you just reinsured me of my purchase
Yes I also got a 7 and I love it 🥰
My 7 is arriving tomorrow! I’m on a tight budget too lol.
How is it for you to this day? I am considering purchasing one.

@@jordanlee_alle it s fantastic. i bought one for 176$. it s makes all money. i m planning to keep this for 4-5 years
More so awesome video!
This review is top notch and so satisfying!!! Well done! I'm planning on getting an iPhone 7 soon btw
A very detailed review of the iPhone 7. Nice video.
great review brother. planning to buy one
I have iPhone 11. To answer your question: this issue is in every iPhone, whether iPhone 7 or iPhone 12
But the thing with iPhone 7 is that it has a metal back so naturally you would feel the heat more.
Nice review, thank you.
Yeah uhm, the 11 is one if the worst of the higher end ios devices. If you can even call an 11 higher up. LCD screen and a battery trying to be worse than the XS. Yeahhhh.. I got the 12 mini and I intend on staying with it for awhile.
Just had a 15 minute FaceTime conversation. No significant heating on my device
@@ericwalraven7154 it most definitely depends on many factors, day or night, whether charging or not and even the charging regularity! It is not that you have to face this problem, it is just that if your phone has it, this is completely normal.
I use Twitter a lot .. and the phone heats up in like 20 minutes
@@mintytoastclips everything else of the phone is good it’s just the screen and nobody will even notice only tech nerds
I have an iPhone 7 currently. I changed the battery, myself; and, 15 min. problem is gone. It could be a simple power related issue. Though, the home button is not working anymore. So, be aware of the problem. On the other hand, the phone works great. Yet, heating or thermal throttling in some cases is pain in the neck.
nice vid bud....cu to the chase and detailed nicely...got a sub!
Nice job!. Straight to the point. 👍🏽
I bought an iPhone seven some months ago at 160 bucks, actually worth it because of the camera, the processor that still being so good in 2021
Crazy quality
The heating up thing in video calls is an issue with EVERY metal backed iPhone, basically if you have something older than an iPhone 8, you're gonna get that heating up and crashing, it's inevitable as the metal has worse heat dissipation than the glass of the newer phones.
I have a 32 GB iPhone 7 and I regularly make longer video calls, initially on Viber and then on Signal. Once video call clocked round 05:15:00 on Signal and no excessive heating happened.
Wat? You must be trolling. Metal has better heat dissipation than glass, the heat spreads to the back of the whole iphone while glass doesn’t. The reason why its hotter because older gen cpus uses more energy and power to run the modern applications of today while newer cpus uses less power because they are able to perform better at lower power usage. Furthermore, glass is a terrible heat conductor so it won’t disspate any heat.
There’s a reason why copper pipes are used for cooling systems in pc’s than glass

Awesome review!
the quality of the video is soo good
I just got a black iphone 7 as my secondary phone today! great to know it's still useable :D
I still love my iPhone 7 but had battery issues recently. When I turned off “battery optimization “, it seems to do better. It’s the original battery from 2018 when I bought it. At a local tech shop, they said they had troubles with the 7 when they replaced batteries. Is it because they weren’t using Apple batteries, do you think?
Great review
a Great Review!👌, Love to Watch❤
Such an amazing review and to the point!
I'm using a black matte 128GB iPhone 7 for the past 3 years and a half, and couldn't be happier!
Dude I'm bout buy iphone 7 please tell me how's the battery timing
@@ibadullahkhan4073 I can say it lasts me a full day with normal use (some GPS, social media, taking photos, internet...) I) usually get home with about 30% of battery - I can achieve this because I replaced the battery recently, and its capacity is still at 100%.

Woah nice review
Thank you, I was using a vivo y15 but it got stolen, so a friend gave my an iphone7... though it has this ic problem I have to fix up before I start using it, but was thinking of buying another phone. After watching this video, I think I will just fix the iPhone 7 and save money... since it still gets update and will do so for a while to come. Thanks for the video, really appreciate .. all the way here in Lagos Nigeria... Just subscribed to your channel too
Happy New years everyone I am still rocking my iphone 7 plus and I love it this is absolutely a brilliant phone 👍😃
I’m watching this on my iPhone 7 it’s just so good
Ty for saying that i am getting an Iphone 7. Its gonna be my first phone! :D
im watching on my iphone 7. got it when i was 16 & im now 21. i love how light & thin it is, touch id, home button & that it has an aluminium back!! ive dropped my phone countless times over the years and i have never ever used a case. i need an upgrade bc of my battery and the camera, but the new glass back is the stupidest thing they couldve ever thought of - although it makes them a whole lot of money.
the glass back is not stupid, wireless charging requires a glass back for it to work
Great video. Good clear English language....no obnoxious music...keep up the good work. I'm 62 years old and using iPhone 7. I'll probably die before my iPhone 7 dies. Good day.
i just finished replacing the screen and battery on my old iphone 7 128gb jet black.
after five years without any kind of problem and some falls, (obviously the battery was not the same as on the first day) on January 1st the screen rightly decided to break :) then I bought an iphone 11 because I thought it was time to update a little myself.
twenty days later I give my mom the new iphone, happy to be back at 7. I'm not trying to say it's actually better than an 11, because it's not, the camera is decent but it doesn't have a better camera, it doesn't have all those features at hand, it only has a few, but for that very reason it excels.
quick intuitive and essential,
true gamechanger
i had the same problem it over heats like crazy over video calls but i think it was because of my battery, it was degraded so i needed to charge it when calling so it overheated more, but since i change the battery i haven't had that issue any more, (Well still gets heated up but not so much), great video, and music taste jajaj, also you did not mentioned that the speed of the iphone sadly will get worst if the battery is degradeded but can work as great as new.
Just purchased the iPhone 7 off amazon 32gig for 130.00 for work i have the 12 pro max and love it but for what i do it’s vulnerable to get damaged so i will use the 7 for work. Wanted an older iPhone to use during the week but a good one thanks for the video feel better with my purchase i just made
I have a 32 GB iPhone 7 and I regularly make longer video calls, initially on Viber and then on Signal. Once video call clocked round 5:15:00 on Signal and no excessive heating happened. A few times phone did dropped the video call, but it was always on Wi-Fi, therefore weak internet connection was to be blamed. It is the end of 2021, I have been using my phone for three and a half years already and I am satisfied. I am moderate user and battery health is at 84% as of now. My only critique is abysmal shortening of battery life when using cellular internet.
5:00 Exactly the same problem
Very good review and video, I had purchased Iphone 7 few days ago, so I did right thing ))
I wanted an inexpensive iPhone for my wife, who's never had a smart phone. I settled on the 7 and got it for under a hundred bucks last Dec. She really likes it and with the Mint subscription, it's quite economical too. The battery life could be better, but it's not a big deal for her usage. So, I recommend the 7 as well.
Currently using a mid tier OPPO phone (it's huge) but want to switch back to apple. Pulled out my wife's old iphone 7, it updated to iOS 15 and runs amazingly! I am considering buying a replacement battery and screen to fix cracked screen and use it as my daily driver! Its very pleasing to hold compared to my huge brick of a phone.
You are legend 💖
IOS 14.7 on this device is Stellar, I have mine rocking and very alive in 2021!
Same
I’m using it and it is amazing in 2021❤️

@The Supreme King I’ll buy an iphone 12 when system updates stops in it ✨🤍
What an amazing pices of tech
I bought an SE the same year the 7 was launched. Still is my main device (Apart from an iPad). Thinking of upgrading, but holding out as I don’t want a Bluetooth earbuds.
had an SE 1 before upgrading to the 7, and I must say having a life w/o wireless earbuds are a pain. so i just bought one for convenience
I sold my S21 because it was too big.. Got the iPhone 7 and I freaking love it. It’s small fast and it’s just as good.. everyone should get it.. rlly best phone I ever had
i had a battery drain issue it drains so fast and nothing helped even changing the battery.
The production of this video 👌 >>>
*Thanks to Zerohacker01 On IG he has just unlocked my iPhone am so happy his so legit and 💯 sure*
I bought this as a backup work phone as well but it really is a great phone
Is this worth getting as a second/spare phone? My daily driver is an s21 but I can get the iphone 7 for 70
I still have a iPhone 7 since 2019 it still is in pretty good condition and is holding up very good
I’ve never experienced the overheating problem with iPhone 7 during video calls. But it does overheat when I’m on certain websites, which is bizarre, like when I’m trying to watch a movie and there’s a bunch of ads it might shut down🙁or when I’m opening an app that weighs too much, but overall I think it’s a great phone, I bought mine in 2018 and only recently started thinking about switching to iPhone 13/14, but only because I need more storage (256gb would be perfect) aaand because my battery is at 64%
I don’t know though, since some reviews say that newer iPhones aren’t that great for many reasons
I'm looking for a budget backup phone and I've always used Android, so I thought why not get an iPhone as the backup one and see if I maybe like iOS more, this video settles it, I'll be looking for an iPhone 7 plus because I need a bigger screen.
Best review I saw for the iPhone 7 plus tbh
I still have this phone and the Only issues I have is the battery and storage but overall it is still a fast phone!
I'm still using Iphone 7 and it's working really good in 2021.

Will have this device by thursday....
Still am using and its the best

Thank you 😊
I’m still on ios12 on this is it worth upgrading to 14.7 or it will become laggier & lose battery performance
stick to ios 12 you won’t regret it
Hello there, I know it's an unrelated comment but would you be able to help with troubleshooting and undervolting? Thanks!
The thing is most iPhone 7s these days have a problem of which causes the microphone to not work which means siri won't work and when someone calls you they can't hear you but you can hear them.
Am thinking of buying one now
You should its very worth it in 2021 only downside i have to say is front facing camera and 2gb ram
Also a Skype user. Video verbal calls work perfect on my 7. In fact they work perfectly on all my iPhones and iPads.
Had constant problems with Skype app on android. Phone Crashes and app lockups.
There are things with any smartphone iPhone android widows Linux that is true and zero people ever EVER talk about them.
Smart phones are pocket computers. Nothing more or less. ALL computers have a few things that eventually need to be done to them.
First is at least once a week they should be turned off and left off for a few min. This clears all static memory and allows a fresh os in that memory to be loaded on the next boot.
Another thing is periodically a device needs to be backed up, factory restored and set back up. This is VERY IMPORTANT on androids and to a lesser degree iPhones. But iPhones still need to have it done from time to time.
The problem is that sometimes a temporary issue can become a permanent one if left uncorrected. For too long. Ie never turning your phone off or backing and resetting.
Some people may even tell you that what I just said is a load of horse manure.
Microsoft use to recommend backup and reinstall of windows. But later removed it from their manuals. Most people would have no idea how to do it. And they were making too much money doing it.
Much like apple use to tell you NOT to charge your phone and use it at the same time. Charging and discharging the battery at the same time causes the battery to fail at an accelerated rate. Then they come out with the overly expensive, underpowered battery case that does exactly what they use to tell people not to do. Why? To destroy your battery faster and force you to either have it replaced hopefully by them or to force you in to a new phone, hopefully a new iPhone.
I know the world dont seem like it be, but it DO!
He just now got to the battery, and while iOS handles the battery much better than android, the battery is far to small. There is a battery case made by gin foxi that is 5000mah about 2.5 times more than the Apple case I think, and adds wireless charging. I use this case on my 7, it makes the phone half again as thick and adds weight, but I prefer the extra weight and thickness over the natural size, for me the 7 is a bit thin and light. With the case it feels much better in hand. The case will fully charge my 7 two more times before having to plug it back in or place on my wireless stand. And best of all it cost about one third what the Apple case does.
As for the review, it’s rare to get a real and accurate review of a 7 today, what most people do is call it a review when it’s actually a comparison between it and something like a iPhone 12 or 13, which is a grossly out of balance comparison.
Well done, this is a review. Which is rare. Thank you for knowing the difference and giving us this.
Just ordered an iphone 7 128 gb red with a new battery!
with all its features that are still good for i think for the next 2 years, the phone now is around 100USD... really good for your money
The heat up issue does not happen for me! Aparantly it happens when the phone has been active all day! Hope it helps
Have an iPhone 7 and no issues with video calls. I FaceTime for hours and it works fine
Hi, I recently bought a used iPhone 7, with one year of life. But does yours also heat up? Mine is hot most of the time I use it. To be safe, I also replaced the battery but did not solve the problem. I would like to know if this is a common flaw of the iPhone 7. Thanks.
