- This simple but quirky wardrobe was on sale, so I bought it for my client. It had more problems than I could imagine...

Title: Too hard restoration of an Art Nouveau WARDROBE - Jak na to + styl
Have watched a few of these videos. This gentleman is a craftsman and artist. We need more like him to restore items rather than replacing them with cheap disposable garbage made to empty our pockets. Lol!
Check out Thomas Johnson. Restores everything. Been watching him for many years.
Ahti is one of the best furniture Wizards. He is from Estonia. Unfortunately the economy has not been that good. Check out the antique chair. He loves to do chairs. Check out his channel to learn more about him.
Ahti, correct me if I’m wrong! Linda from Alberta Canada!👍🏻🇨🇦👏🏻👏🏻
Agree 100%!
And stop making everything "whitewashed" or "shabby chic"
This is lovely….i am glad you are a perfectionist!
Thank you sir for showing us your hardships so candidly. I have nothing but the utmost respect for your commitment to perfection, no matter how hard. Thankyou for all the hours of good distraction you offer to us all. May all your efforts go on being blessed.❤ Maria, in northern Portugal 🌞
What a beautiful way of putting the truth! Thank you Maria. Ahti is a blessing.
By God, Adhi... it arm wrestled you the entire restoration, but you won in the end.
This proves how difficult it must be giving an accurate quote on labour & supplies.
A pro gets it done... 💪😊 and is a worthy contender.
Spectacular! We can actually see the armoire and not just the dull finish and damage. I really enjoy watching you bring derelict items back to life - what a treat!
If you like his work, try Mad City Modern, and Flipping Drawers. They both chat to you and have many thousands of followers. I love them both❤.
You are an amazing artist! I look forward to your videos, because there seems to be nothing that you can't do.

Beautiful! It must have been frustrating dealing with the wood fungus.
I love your humor even when the sun is going to fall from the sky ❤
WOW, you must get tired of reading how extraordinary your work is!
I know I do.
The Carpenters of Old smile down upon you from above, for bringing their beautiful pieces back to their original glory.
You, Sir, are Amazing.
I KNEW the moment at 16:30 was coming: "It was not good enough" and then you saying that you stripped everything and started fresh. The end result says it all: this once battered cabinet is now a beautiful piece. Another job well done!
23:45 The dramatic difference between the handles floored me. I love your attention to the details of your projects.
Отличная работа, золотые руки у вас.
Даже не верится , что он стал как новый . Даже лучше . Респект и уважение . Спасибо за положительные эмоции .
He is a genius with wood. Watching him makes my heart happy !!!!!!! So many think throwing some paint on is a restore,no it is a destroy.
So true!
He ist not a Genius, he is a Professional. 👍
@MrMattesTH 23-0. And not in your favour.
Благодарю. Как всегда ваша работа на высоте.
Казахстан.
The new turned legs are gorgeous. After so much talent and effort (and patience!), the wardrobe looks better than new now. Honestly, the hardware was the best part of it when you found it!
Incredible. The nailing through the tape was a cool new trick I learned from you. You've got so many tools in your toolbelt and it's a joy to learn from you!
What does the tape trick do?
On a rainy cold day here in Los Angeles, your Mastery brings great Joy. Thank You!
We always feel sad when we hear the music because we know it’s about done!😢 You are funny! God bless you!
That's for sure!
Happy days for furniture when treated by Dr AT. Thanks for the excellent vid and post.
As always I am amazed by your patience! I have done some repair and refinishing for over 50 years and I know it can make you feel like pulling your hair out at times. You are such a perfectionist and if I had some really beautiful antique, I would want you to work on it. You have obviously been taught by the best. I so look forward to all of your videos, thanks so much for sharing them with us.
You have the patience of a saint. I would have turned it into fire wood.😂😂😂
Wow, you worked hard to restore this badly damaged piece! It's great to learn from you, from your trained perspective and choices to solve all kinds of problems this wardrobe had. The video is fabulous!!!! 👏👏👏
A Piece That was Literally on Its Last Legs! It was a Struggle to Bring it Back to Life, but You Did It! You Are the Master!
Ahti, this final reveal took my breath away!!! I'll bet that this piece has never looked this good. Honestly, you put so much hard work and dedication into everything you do, and I always know that the results will be stunning. But THIS one, it blew me away. I so love watching your videos. Your skills are unmatched, and nothing deters you from keeping at it, despite all of the "surprises". This is a Masterpiece!!!!
Your ability to deal with problems in old wood amazes me. Thank you for saving these remarkable old survivors
We ALL need to satisfy our inner perfectionist. Otherwise, why work with our hands? Another excellent job. Thank you for sharing.
magnificent, even more so considering the beaten 'original' conditions. Balanced, and masterfully executed. Bravo
I totally get the "satisfying my inner profectionist"...BRAVO MISTRO, you are the Master. Absolutely Stunning.
*perfectionist.
I love your inner perfectionist. It's what makes you stand out from the rest.
STUNNING as always ! There is nothing like proper old wooden furniture. It has a story to tell, and will last for ever. Brilliant to watch this Craftsman at work. Thanks for sharing your skills. Take care 🙂
He's an artist as well as being a great craftsman. I watched a restoration he did of a cupboard, with flowers carved in sprays on the doors. He remade the door panels, and etched out the flower sprays, amazing to watch.
When I was a kid my mom had two of these wardrobes, this sure takes me back, I don' think they make these anymore since they started making houses with closets, excellent job...Javi G.
Well, ikea makes them, but your point is still valid, because no one can say that ikea makes works of art! 🇨🇦💕
I'm always amazed at your ability to turn shapes by eye on your lathe, you have an artist's eye, don't you? Also, cool new (to me) technique of nailing and puttying through the tape.
Завораживает ваша работа. Не могу оторвать глаз. Каждый раз жду результат с нетерпением. Спасибо за удовольствие.
Athi is #1 in furniture restoration. Deserves a sponsor or Patreon to funding his fantastic work!
Makes one understand how much better old furniture is and what a craftsman can do.
I truly do love how you bring a piece of furniture that has done its duty faithfully over the years, back to glory, to continue making another human proud to show it off for doing its duty faithfully. Thank you for being you!
You are one of the best restorers here on CZcams that I have seen.
You are so thorough & I appreciate watching someone who takes care & pride in their work.
Thank you again!
You are a genius, a magician, a problem-solver, an artist. You are simply amazing. Keep doing what you’ve doing.
Ahti, I just wish your videos were at least two hours long. Few things on CZcams bring me as much satisfaction as your artwork.
No matter what your project is, I know you will bring it back to life again, and beautifully! I love your videos; they are always so well produced!
As much as anything, I love the way you preserve the original wood as much as is humanly possible, not just tossing away feet or sides because they are damaged. It's magic watching you make little 'biscuits' and use them to replace damaged corners and edges ☺🙂 And once again, really loving your music ☺☺
Красота да и только!
You made this old, worm-eaten, dirty and rather cheaply made wardrobe into a lovely art deco piece that will grace any room it is in! You are a wonderful craftsman!♥
That was beautiful. Ready for another 100 years!
Шикарный шкаф получился.😮😮😊
"inner perfectionist" YES Master Craftsman YES Thank you for sharing your skill and artistry with us.
Another amazing restoration and video, just beautiful… I genuinely at one point was thinking is this where we see you beat Ahti… I could not believe how you got the bubbles out the veneer! I was thinking , no way is he doing that .
Thanks again, and as ever, just the best on here…. I never get tired of rewatching your videos, you have the format just right….❤️❤️❤️❤️
So the restauration unveiled a quite elegant wardrobe. Great work!!!
Шкаф помолодел!!Прекрасная работа,моё уважение к вашему мастерству !!
Love watching you work, Ahti! You pay attention to small details and the end result is just stunning! I really appreciate your skill on the lathe - you make it look so easy, but I know it's not. Thank you for sharing this wonderful project with us!
"My client has really long robes"
It's definitely hard not to imagine this being owned by a wizard after that comment 😄
Absolutely incredible job as always 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The moment you reach the huge nail with your beautiful Japanese hand saw, I almost cried. Beautiful work as always!
Sheesh! This little wardrobe fought you all the way to the end, didn't it? So nice to see that you won the fight!
I admire the way you are able to pivot when presented with unexpected challenges in the middle of a project. Another beautiful result, Ahti!
This one really tested you Ahti but I had no doubt that you would overcome all obstacles thrown at you. Beautiful job in the end.
I sat immobile, all alone, and watched this video. I think I said "Wow!" about 20 times. Even with the problems you encountered, your craftsmanship and artistry shone through. Again, kudos!
Magnificent work. We can all learn a lot from workmanship of this calibre.
I prefer the "not good enough" stain of the original wood rather than wood veneer. I think the original tells a story. I love your videos. You are a phenomenal craftsman!
This one made you work hard for the win! Beautiful, I love antiques!
Ahti, this is ah mayzing! I find it terrific that you are dedicated to recycling, using minerals and bugs, and sustainable creative ways to restore historical pieces. Well done! Informative, artistic, and entertaining content. Thank you.
You are my furniture restoration hero. Again, Fabolous restoration.
I never would’ve thought to use masking tape for the finishing nails and filling the holes. So simple but so effective!
Perfection is the Hallmark of genius. Beautiful!
So good to see the green sander back in action. I thought it had been retired!
Excellent; the turning of the new feet is a real skill and fascinating to watch too!
The beauty was there all along. It takes someone like you, with your unique vision and skills, to make that beauty visible. Your videos are always a pleasure and a revelation to watch. 🇨🇦💕
What an ordeal! But it turned out great. Thanks for sharing your trials and tribulations on this one.
Maybe it's a gateway to Narnia? Great work 🙂
yeah mr magic fingers is back. As usual the master is doing what he does best.
It looks like a completely different piece of furniture. Absolutely gorgeous.
👏👏👏👍 Великолепная работа! Приветствую вас из далёкой России.
Love and admire your inner perfectionist, Ahti. Also your videos, with the suspenseful music at the beginning and the glorious reveal at the end. The point-of-view shots and close-ups are wonderful. Moreover, working with the understanding that you are providing the best camera views must add an extra challenge to what you do. The end products--both the ojects and the videos--are always inspired and inspiring!
He's simply the best craftsman around and he likes to get it done perfectly to his satisfaction. His machinery out if this world fantastic. His angles when filming his work is excellent!
It does my old heart good to see how much trouble is taken to conserve as much of the original material as possible. This is a true craftsman.
This one really fought back though. Great result as reward for perfectionism in the end.
Ones again you did a superb job. I love watching you. TFS
Молодец!Золотые руки,умельцы всегда вызывали уважение!
You've inspired me to experiment with restorations. Just this morning I saw someone had put an old 1920's-era phonograph on the curb near where I live. I was so close to taking it home to restore it. But, sadly, there were simply too many missing parts. I know I could have fixed up the cabinet to be serviceable, but I just couldn't justify it without the missing phonograph parts. Maybe next time I'll get lucky and find something a bit more complete.
Once again you restored a piece to nothing less than magnificent!
Your attention to every detail is beyond reproach.
Even the handles and lock mechanisms get the same care and attention as the cabinet itself.
All of your work shows your inner perfection
Beautifully brought back from the brink.
There are so many things in the world right now that can make you think about the end of the world... I never thought it would come from you 😁
Wonderful work, as usual 👍
As always very well done. The Master has done it again.
Oh Master Ahti, I love and adore your respectful work on old furniture! Nothing less than this I expected from you. Thank you so much for sharing, you know, you are the best and soooo likable. You are my favorite, I follow your channels since years, and every time its like a little christmas gift for me to watch your videos. Go on, Ahti! From Leipzig with love!
I admire your meticulous attention to detail. Fantastic job as always.
All these years and the vise grips/hammer trick never occurred to me, lol. Great work as always
This now beautiful wardrobe had its problems but as you being a master craftsman especially in restoring antiques takes the time n wonderful skill to do it right. This is just one of the many reasons I love n enjoy watching you. I also notice how much pride you have in doing these pieces right the way it should be done. You’re a perfectionist n there’s not a thing wrong in that. You did an amazing job on the feet😊. I’ll say it again n again, YOUR THE BEST OUT THERE. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟
Кропотливая и в тоже время качественная работа. Браво мастер. Лайк и подписка.
Near enough is never good enough for you! You are a legend.

Looks great. You returned it to its former glory.
Your tenacity is amazing. i would have consigned that old box to the bonfire!
Wow, it glows now!
Your dedication is commendable.
This one really fought back, Ahti. But the end result is very pleasing. Cheers.
Another great job. Excellent lathe turning skills too. Fabulous original old fashioned look.
