    I have to say this,
    Your a breath of fresh air on harmonica playing. I've learned alot from all the the great players out here. But what separates you, is you have something different, a real niche for country and bluegrass. I love these rhythms! Don't ever stop doing exactly what your doing. It's perfect👍😉

    Thanks for the help mate. I'm a Disabled American Brit Veteran. I had a fascination with harmonicas when I was young but never continued because ptsd made me not care about things anymore except isolation or fighting in bar brawls. Really not good hobbies to have. I started back up 3 years ago and am learning and improvise to many types of music. I just have a love for the instrument. Because of all my surgeries from my injuries I sustained I had problems with cardiovascular workouts. I was always getting awards for fitness including in the Cavalry. When I was 35 the leg that I neatly lost needed replacement which turned out bad and locked straight on me. It got much worse but I truly missed running, the workouts, and 10 to 15 mile runs. I just wanted to sprint like a racehorse. The good news for me was the health benefits I was getting from breathing in and out and learning how to hear again. With the newest hearing aids from Veterans Hospital I was hearing what I haven't heard since 76 when a tanks 105mm cannon fired within 8 feet of me. It was so forceful my face felt crushed but the ringing in my ear continued a week straight. I was definitely worried but we didn't get help and sucked up our injuries. You didn't admit to being injured. That harmonica has given me a cardiovascular workout. I have bought as many harps as I could. I'm learning and able to play from ear but still have much learning. Can you tell me where I can get back tracks so I can play along easier. I love practicing to music but having the backtracking is what I really think would help me to continue to advance. I love your tips and advice on these videos. They are fun to practice to and it can do so much for people who are unable to do the physical load but get the benefits of a cardiovascular workout. Those that carry these beautiful instruments are truly blessed. It also helps with ptsd because you are releasing that pent up destructive energy. Thanks again mate for the lessons 👍 ✌️

      Hey you're most welcome. Thankyou ever so much for sharing your story here. It's really wonderful to hear the instrument is of benefit to your health. My friend does a lot of work here in the UK for folks with breathing issues and it really works!! In terms of backing tracks, there's quite a lot on CZcams. Sometimes karoake versions of songs are good for songs, and I use a lot of bluegrass backing tracks- all on CZcams. Let me know what you find? all the best Ed

    I am playing harmonica in various groups for more than 40 years, and I want to testify that your video here is one of the most interesting (if not the most) I have seen and listened to about rhythm harmonica. Even if I already know and play what you are explaining, you are comforting me in my playing techniques, and every would-be rhythm harmonica player should take examples here. Thank you very much.

  • @grassZgreenNgreenZaBitBlu

    Hi Ed ! I'm having lots of fun learning and practising these rhythms on these soundtracks ! Thanks ! Just a little question, it seems to me that the "chicken rhythm" is starting on the offbeat, is that right ?

    • @TheHarmonicaBarge
      @TheHarmonicaBarge  Před rokem +1

      Hi That's great, the first 4 notes start on the beat but the second group of 2 notes is off the beat as there's a sixteenth note rest before them. Hope this answers your question. regards Ed

    Suddenly number 3 draw doesn't sound at all, I bought the harmonica 2 months ago, and I've played it no more than 5-7 hours in total. Could you give me some hint?

    • @TheHarmonicaBarge
      @TheHarmonicaBarge  Před 3 lety

      Hi, that’s frustrating! This happens I’m afraid- sometimes it can be a tiny blockage. Usually waiting 5 mins or tap in the palm of your hand. Otherwise you may need to take the harp apart, but be careful 🙂
