Mobile phone ads are definitely a new art form for sure. They are not all featured in this video, but I personally loved how this one strategy game with the fake lets players would always use the same exact "gameplay" for the different ads. It's kinda cute how hard they tried, but also.. mmh.

It’s only gotten worse as time has gone on. Now, games like Raid: Shadow Legends or whatever the fuck it’s called have the EXACT. SAME. SCRIPT. It’s always the same thing, showing off the same couple of, “champions,” from the game, never any actual gameplay. Now mobile advertisers have sunk as low as stealing an independent developer’s test footage of a Monster Hunter kind of game, for a game that’s actually more akin to those idle, time wasting games with 2D sprites that attack and you not even having control over them, only with how much damage they do.

Gameplay isn't protected. There is a reason Nintendo didn't sue Activision in 1982 for Pitfall sharing common elements with Donkey Kong...or why Konami didn't sue SNK when Cyber Lip was heavily "inspired" by Contra. This was decided back during the "let's see how many companies can rip off Pac Man..." days. Gameplay elements can be ripped off without fear of reprisal as long as you develop your own code and assets.
The play store is a cavalcade of complete shit. Or it's bootleg heaven, you decide. Either way, you're getting ads

It didn't seem like there was too much craziness after that... Vinny sort of wandered for a while, but not much happened. I'm not sure if it's a disappointing lack of more zany stuff or Vinny just didn't find the right places. I'd like to believe it's a much larger batshit insane parody of GTA. And if this game isn't it, then someone should definitely make one.
