This utilizes the "feature" that allow you to override your Decimate's damage with Overdrive Surge's. Basically dodge out of Decimate as soon as you can and use Overdrive Surge and it will cause Decimate's slashes to do the same damage as your Overdrive Surge's kick. - Hry
The captain sucks. It's only good at providing buff as an npc.

they are being a hybrid chara so cant compete with dps chara for sure
but it's not dps race game so play whatever you like
If your goal is to do the highest damage possible then sure Captain’s probably not what you’re looking for but her damage is more than competitive when you look at the entire cast. So excuse me while I go on to get MVP with the Captain while using only damage skills.
@@ogopogo1109 Ok you can keep trying to compete with Rackam. On a tier chart, Captain comes last every single time.
@@ogopogo1109 The thing is I'm not even talking about just DPS. Just go offline and solo bosses and see who is easier. Then, you will see which character is clearly better out of the pack.

I been trying to make the captain work, legit been restless trying to find out the best possible build I can try and do to min max, you gave me inspiration and the idea of the direction to go

Captain was the last character i expected to pick up and i play and optimized quite a few. Just maxed out the captain yesterday after seeing this tech and im having a lot of fun. Thanks for putting me on to this character!

what do you think about captian 's air combo into max charge ? do it have higher dps than full lmb combo into max charge ?
also do you have any tips with captain 's charge parry ? can you do it with every kind of attacks ? i try some but it seems you cant parry all the time (or my timing is just wrong)
The more combo finisher you can do the better since it’s what has the higher damage cap in her kit but since she still has to worry about getting her class level up she can’t really abuse jump finisher like Ferry and has to do her full aerial combo. As for her charge attack parry it seems to work against most things for me but the timing is more severe than Percival’s.
Can you provide a little more detail on how to cancel Decimate into the Kick to get the boosted damage? Im playing as Gran and I can't seem to get it to work.
First, set your FPS as high as you can preferably 120fps then put a Skilled Assault sigil or 2 on so your Decimate damage can reach the higher dmg cap of Overdrive Surge. Also try taking off your supp DMG sigil to make the number easier to see. After you're all set, get to Art Level IV then use Decimate, wait a tiny bit after you see Captain's feet land on the ground and then dodge cancel into Overdrive Surge, if no slashes come out for Decimate and there's no damage it means you're dodge cancelling too early.
How much of a damage drop off does captain have without the decimate dodge cancel? Just in case they decide to patch it out and it no longer works like that
Quite a bit I’m afraid, with more optimal rotation, it drops from 39mil to 32.1mil, so you’re looking at around a 21% drop in dps on a 60s damage parse

コメントありがとうございます！そうなんですよ これのお陰で団長ちゃんもかなりの火力出せるようになりました、ちなみに少し手はかかるけどレギンレイヴも敵と少し離れてから使うとドライブバーストでダメージ上限を上書きできます、ドライブバーストを回避でキャンセルしても大丈夫です。限凸はクリ率, 通常攻撃のダメ上限, アビリティのダメ上限と攻撃力です。

I tried to do the decimate cancel to overide i dont get the damage of overide how can i do it?
I’ve heard that the higher your frame rate the easier it is but a general tip is to dodge toward the enemy to shorten your dodge distance allowing you to use the second skill faster, hope that helps!

yes, I think the only thing Gran has issue with is dodge cancelling out of Overdrive Surge to keep it from going on cooldown, but I didn't actually use that here since I didn't use roter bug on Reginleiv

what is the fastest combo to reach arts IV as soon as possible?
Depends on the situation and how close you’re to stunning an enemy but generally speaking XXYXY or XYXXY into charged Y is what I tend to go with if I’m building from scratch
Can u explain the exact combo rotation here, like square square etc lol
Captain mainly uses this combo, since it does more damage than the default combo and it gives you Arts level faster
square > square> triangle > square > triangle > triangle (hold)

The Captain in fact jack of all trade.. since he or she has useful skill.. hell Even in the Browser he is quite OP..

so many ppl showing off dps on a standing target in the most unrealistic situation of 60 seconds, not sure who exactly get anything out of this every character deals between 30-40 fully optimized so theres no big surprise here, captain is underestimated offensively is what I can say, but the game itself is very balanced
brother I don't know if you're new to video games but legit any game be it jrpg or mmo people will do sandbag parses for fun. and also these rotations can be used when speed running bosses and manipulating them to be down the whole fight.
btw Every character does not deal 30-40m. I wish Siegfried hit that much in 60 seconds. Not sure why you're so bothered by this.
you're right the game isn't very balanced but it's always nice to try to figure out what optimal rotation and gear is for your character, obviously you're not going to do the same damage in a real fight but knowing how to do maximum damage and which moves in your kit contribute to your damage the most will help you determine the best course of action to take.
