Hi Dr. Rupa, I just started seeing floaters about 11/2 months ago. Saw an Opthomologist who tested me and assured me at this point there is no cause for concern. Will see again I 2 months. As soon as I saw the first floaters I check your CZcams site and went right out and bought a pineapple. The test is on. After about my 4th pineapple in two weeks there are some days I 😮rarely see any floaters. Will keep you updated.

I was diagnosed with PVD three weeks ago. I have a ring floater. Started taking 500 mg of Bromelain once a day and I would say the floater is half way gone. It’s no longer that noticeable! I had a hard time reading the first week. Incidentally, I learned that Bromelain could help before seeing the eye doctor, so I asked her if there was any supplements that could help with this and she said no, there’s not. Glad I’m a DIY kind of guy and saw your video.

I went to the Dr. He said that my retina is fine as well as my vitrous, which is fine because when I was a kid I lost my left vision because of an accident. I started to eat 300 grams of pineapple every day in the morning before breakfast, and after four weeks I noticed that 60% of the floters are gone thanks to God. I am Christian soy I believe in miracles as well, then when I went to visit the Dr. He was surprised that my vistreous is quite clear now. ❤❤

For everyone who has eye floaters and are currently in panic: keep on reading.
I first encountered floaters when I was about 19 but somehow they moved out of my field of vision, then at 27 I suddenly had a bunch of them. At that time I also had bad anxiety, stress etc and I couldn’t stop looking for the floaters that it became a daily obsession. But: I overcame it. It WILL get better! Try to find the core of where the anxiety comes from, maybe with a little more help like therapy or someone you trust to talk to. Strangely, I still have floaters but I barely notice them because I’m not scared of them anymore. The mind can be a powerful ally or your biggest enemy. If I can do it, you can do it too!

I got my 1st floater at age 12 and the eye doctor explained what it was and assured me that by the time I was in my 50's it would settle out of my line of vision and I would no longer see it. Well, over the years I developed more of them in both eyes and now, at 65 I have about 6 in my left eye and 3 in my right making it hard to see as I have to wait for them to float by when trying to look at something close. (Each one is surrounded by a border that is opaque.) I will try the Bromelain to see if that helps so, thank you. I have always wondered why there is not a treatment where the eye fluid is pumped out and sent through a filter then back into the eye (sort of like dialysis) to eliminate these things? It seems to me this type of procedure would not be hard to do and would be very effective but then, of course, I am not a Doctor so I really have no idea. Thank you for the info about Bromelain, I will look around for some supplements and see if that has any positive effects.

That would be interesting, since I have eye floaters for more than 55 years and I always thought I was the only one having trouble with that. I love pineapple (or ananas as it is known over here) and I still have eye floaters. Especially in summer it's worst, since the abundance of light makes them easily visible. You're talking about people with 1, 2 or 3 floaters? I have many more.
By the way I recently visited an eye doctor and she said that we're seeing the shadow of the floaters, not the floaters themselves. I never knew that. Sometimes when you're looking into the far at night and towards a light in the distance and you squint your eyes you can see the form of the floaters quite clear. So I'm wondering if they are part see through.
Oh question: does it need to be fresh pineapple or can it also be pineapple in those little cans?
    Thanks for the video 👍

I started getting floaters when I was 18 years old. completely freaked me out. Started having panic attacks and everything. I went to the opticians, they told me my eyes were healthy and couldn’t even detect the floaters. I then thought i was imagining them or going mad! as the years went on, the floaters have become much more prevalent in both eyes.
They negatively affect quality of life. Im pushing 40 now I’ve been to the opticians countless times over the years and they just keep telling me my eyes are healthy and there’s nothing they can do about the floaters..Unless I pay 6 grand and have them suck all the jelly stuff out of the back of my eyes and replace it with air…with risks involved… umm no thanks.

Hi dear doctor . Can you please tell me how much per day is recommended to start taking the supplement capsule.
I am at the height of despair and depression caused by these floaters, but after seeing your clip, I became hopeful, I wish it would have an effect on me. Thank you for your efforts, dear doctor.🌹

Hi. I have been taking bromelain supplement for 2 years now and previously I had darker and prominent floaters. Now I have fainted and much much less bothersome floaters. I do not know whether it works or not but my floaters have been fainted a lot.
Previously I was very depressed due to this but now I am very happy that my problem is gone to a greater extent. Fainted floaters are not much of an issue.
I think it works. If my result is due to the supplement then believe me it will do wonders for your problem too.

What stops bromaline from breaking down the wrong collagen?

    • @weldonyoung1013

Its density, or the matrix of chemicals it is in. In the eye the matrix is much more prominent than the collagen.

I suffering eye floaters about 3 years, i tried it but nothing change. I know you are doctor but please dont make anything you read on google as your convince statement. Im not a doctor ,just normal civilian that finding answer of this floaters everyday...if bromelain help floaters with breakdown collagen, its mean that make eye vitreous more liquify and tend to pvd (post vitreous detachment) cause the jelly in the eye no longer in jelly state.Any vitamin and nutrient cant enter the inside the vitreous jelly. Please do more research before you post anything .Dont make false hope for someone suffering floaters like us

Will taking bromelain destroy collagen in all areas of the body, as in the joints, where we don’t want to lose it? I would appreciate an answer relating to this. I noticed that several people have asked.

No not at all. As we grow older our bodies change. Antioxidants and enzymes our body has manufactured for us cease with age. Osteoarthritis and fluid buildup in knee joints causing pain is an example of this. SMET or systemic multi enzyme therapy helps stop the build up of fibragin in joints.

Any allergy that you have, you just have to slowly introduce the food that you think causes you allergy and progressively increase the dose until you don’t have that allergy anymore! Not like you have to avoid it!
The reason why you have that effect in your tongue is because bromelain not just eats collagen like you mentioned, it also eats protein, which you also mentioned. So, why if your tongue has proteins don’t you understand why you have that feeling? We all do, not just you, because we all have proteins in our tongues!

The problem is that there's a blood-retina barrier (similar to the blood-brain barrier), which I don't think bromelain can cross to enter the vitreous.
As far as I know, there are only two ways to get rid of floaters: 1) YAG-laser vaporization (somewhat controversial among orthodox eye specialists, who claim there's a lack of safety data); and 2) a floaters-only vitrectomy, in which a surgeon suctions out the entire vitreous and replaces it with saline. Note that vitreous has no optical function in the eye; its main function is structural, i.e., it keeps the eyeball in a rounded shape, and is apparently a vestige from fetal development. The eye functions just as well when vitreous is replaced with saline.
Some eye doctors are promoting the use of low-dose atropine to treat floaters (0.01% or even 0.005%). The idea here is to dilate the pupil slightly so that the floaters - which are just the shadows, cast on the retina, of a piece of sloughed-off collagen from a slowly contracting vitreous - become blurry and therefore less noticeable. I tried using that method myself and found that the floaters do, indeed, become more diffuse and less noticeable, but at the cost of everything else being much too bright (since the pupil is wider than it would be ordinarily) and with noticeable haloes and fringing around light sources at night. I also found that my vision was simply less sharp even using such a low concentration of atropine. In short, I didn't like it, so stopped using it after only a few tries.
I would urge people to do their own research and always to seek 2nd or even 3rd opinions on this issue.

We aren’t sure if it can, like cells there is facilitated diffusion and diffusion and many mechanisms and channels that allow certain substances through in controlled manors, there could possibly be entry points for small amounts it hasn’t been studied enough to come to a conclusive answer but thing pass through the blood retina barrier on a daily basis it’s just selective

My understanding is that there is no way that this bromaline can get into the eye. Only demonstrated effective treatments are laser vitriolysis or vitrectomy as a last resort.

I've been noticing a reduction in my floaters...a lightening in the 1 big floater. I need to watch my sugar though. How do they take the sugar out? Its a freeze dried pineapple powder.
